Re: PS5 Folders, 1440p Support Part of New Beta Update Out Today

themuckman

Folders! Will be a big help organising my incomplete and unplayed games, and especially all the Extra stuff.

I also agree with other comments though - the PS5 is a step back from the PS4 UI which is much faster and more intuitive, especially when it comes to handling save data, updates and console power options. And after eighteen months I still don't like the feel of that PS logo shaped button on the dualsense - compared to the regular one on the ds4, this feels weird to press. There's a reason buttons are the shape they are, Sony!

Re: No Free PS4 to PS5 Upgrade Path for Persona 5 Royal

themuckman

If there's ever a game that won't offer many tangible benefits from a PS5 upgrade, it's this one, so no big deal saying no to this cash grab.

And anyway, I flagged and dropped the game after about 70 odd hours and wasn't even in sight of the end. Don't get me wrong, I loved every minute of it and put Royal right up there with my favourite gameplay experiences of last gen. But it was just too much!

Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for July 2022 Available to Download Now

themuckman

@QualityGeezer I too had FF7 PS5 from when it was given on Plus before, tried that but it just says I own a different version and only lets me download standard version where the Intermission still shows up as DLC that I have to pay for!

Maybe this is Sony's way of trying to get more cash from those of us that got it on the old Plus. Makes no difference really because I won't pay for the DLC either way.

Re: PS5, PS4's Stray Is Helping to Save Cats' Lives

themuckman

Cats rule, and this is a great initiative. 👍

Previously stray moggies always make the best pets in my experience...their gratitude and affection at simply being given somewhere warm and safe to sleep, and regular food, can't be matched by any pedigree breed that's only ever known the good life.

Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium PS5, PS4 Games for July 2022 Revealed

themuckman

@Netret0120 it's amazing isn't it! I'm the same, load of Extra games to play and that's not including my own library of unplayed stuff.

It's a first world problem, but it would be perfect if Sony give us folders in the yearly firmware upgrade to aid in organising this game overload.

Extra is killing it right now.

Re: Sony Officially Licenses PS5 SSD from Western Digital

themuckman

Great SSD, have had one in my PS5 for a few months but no-one should be paying the crazy prices quoted in this article.

I paid £120 total for my 1TB SN850, including the Sabrent heatsink, which is probably better than whatever one is bundled with this 'deal".

Re: Stray's Day One Pawtch Notes Correct Naughty Cat Collisions on PS5, PS4

themuckman

@nathanSF I broadly agree, but absolutely love cats and it's as much FOR those reasons!

Are they selfish, aloof, cunning, temperamental animals? Yes. But they win on their glorious independence of thought and refusal to toe any lines.

Cats are unique - what other pet has their own door, free to come and go as they please? All other pets are like children, needing constant confinement and attention, either to keep them from running off forever or because they're incapable of looking after themselves out in the world.

Cats rule 😍

Re: Feature: What Are Your Most Anticipated PS5, PS4 Games for the Rest of 2022?

themuckman

@Piyo "....500€ for the PS5 and all I use it for are old games..."

Exactly the same!

What have I played most on my launch day delivered PS5? Binding Of Isaac, Stardew Valley, Pinball Arcade and some of the PS5-patched PS4 games.

Loading time improvements are the most welcome part, although the UI is still way worse than PS4, which I don't really understand.

Re: Insanely Deep PC Strategy Game Rim World Comes to PS4 Next Month

themuckman

@Eldritch @Elodin I'd somehow never really played Tetris over the years (decades!), but can already appreciate the addiction that lies within such a simple looking diversion of a game! Especially with the hypnotic images and build-up of the music.

As for Rimworld, off to watch a few video reviews and playthroughs to help me understand a bit more about how it all works.

Re: Soapbox: I Tried So Hard to Like Elden Ring, But I Just Couldn’t Do It

themuckman

I'm sure I'd have played this to death years ago, back in the days when I spent hours and hours just learning the unblockable combos for all the characters on the early Tekken games, for example.

But I'm 51 now, I don't want to 'git gud' at the expense of more relaxing experiences elsewhere in my games library. Doubtless more a reflection of my state of mind than Elden Ring itself, but it's why these kind of games are not for me.

Re: Insanely Deep PC Strategy Game Rim World Comes to PS4 Next Month

themuckman

@Eldritch ah, got you. and yes, hard to argue it isn't worth the extra £34 when you look at what you get

Since I've got it I've been hopelessly addicted to Tetris connected, at the expense of all the 'big' games on it, but if I can find more hidden gems I'd never have considered buying then it's an even bigger win.

Re: Insanely Deep PC Strategy Game Rim World Comes to PS4 Next Month

themuckman

@Burntbreadman It's £32.99 for base game and £44.99 for the deluxe with the first DLC. So that's pretty steep. Especially as the second DLC came out a year ago - why couldn't that have been included too?

I'll wait for either a decent sale (which from what you're saying sounds unlikely) or I'll venture over to my Turkey PSN account where the deluxe is around £26.

Port is being done by the devs who brought Prison Architect to console so hopefully they'll do a decent enough job with the UI translation.
