@carlos82 well, not pointless as they're still usable and I'd much rather have this than nothing, but will indeed mean more scrolling and button pressing to get to them than if you could pin them to the main screen.
Folders! Will be a big help organising my incomplete and unplayed games, and especially all the Extra stuff.
I also agree with other comments though - the PS5 is a step back from the PS4 UI which is much faster and more intuitive, especially when it comes to handling save data, updates and console power options. And after eighteen months I still don't like the feel of that PS logo shaped button on the dualsense - compared to the regular one on the ds4, this feels weird to press. There's a reason buttons are the shape they are, Sony!
This is great - I've almost bought the remasters several times, holding back due to time required, backlog and uncertainty over how much I'd really enjoy them.
Have been interested in LAD so this is positive month for me. Already have LN (which, for any who don't have it, is brilliant) and not bothered by the Tony Hawks.
Made the mistake of starting a new farm on Stardew Valley a few days ago, just intending to play a few hours here and there between other games. But you know how that story ends....
Next week, Rimworld may be the one to tear me away from it.
If there's ever a game that won't offer many tangible benefits from a PS5 upgrade, it's this one, so no big deal saying no to this cash grab.
And anyway, I flagged and dropped the game after about 70 odd hours and wasn't even in sight of the end. Don't get me wrong, I loved every minute of it and put Royal right up there with my favourite gameplay experiences of last gen. But it was just too much!
@The_Pixel_King Without the strong likelihood of it ending up on Extra, or without the sheer amount of games that Extra has already provided me with that I still haven't played, I definitely would.
After seeing a couple of reports of machines overheating in the UK today, my own PS5 is having an enforced day off from gaming.
I did try to download FF7 Intermission but no joy with that anyway. Hopefully Sony fix the license, or whatever else is preventing us getting the content, soon.
@QualityGeezer I too had FF7 PS5 from when it was given on Plus before, tried that but it just says I own a different version and only lets me download standard version where the Intermission still shows up as DLC that I have to pay for!
Maybe this is Sony's way of trying to get more cash from those of us that got it on the old Plus. Makes no difference really because I won't pay for the DLC either way.
On the one hand, it was one of my favourite games of last gen and I'm interested in the PS5 upgrade. But I suspect the gameplay and systems will have dated badly in the few years since I last played.
Previously stray moggies always make the best pets in my experience...their gratitude and affection at simply being given somewhere warm and safe to sleep, and regular food, can't be matched by any pedigree breed that's only ever known the good life.
@Netret0120 yeah I too lucked into Premium for the next few years but when that finally expires I'll be dropping to Extra, nothing about Premium interests me.
@nathanSF I broadly agree, but absolutely love cats and it's as much FOR those reasons!
Are they selfish, aloof, cunning, temperamental animals? Yes. But they win on their glorious independence of thought and refusal to toe any lines.
Cats are unique - what other pet has their own door, free to come and go as they please? All other pets are like children, needing constant confinement and attention, either to keep them from running off forever or because they're incapable of looking after themselves out in the world.
Hope this is true, decent additions if you ask me. Held off on FF7R so now can play the complete package on PS5. Stray looks great, and the rest are extra options if you want them.
I've barely scratched the surface of the stuff I want to play on Extra as it is. Some people are never happy.
@skaarj217 pretty much, it's for stupid TVs and stupid people. My Sony has always switched to game mode without any issues, and as already said most hardcore gamers will either have TVs that do that, or will be doing it manually when they game.
@Eldritch @Elodin I'd somehow never really played Tetris over the years (decades!), but can already appreciate the addiction that lies within such a simple looking diversion of a game! Especially with the hypnotic images and build-up of the music.
As for Rimworld, off to watch a few video reviews and playthroughs to help me understand a bit more about how it all works.
I'm sure I'd have played this to death years ago, back in the days when I spent hours and hours just learning the unblockable combos for all the characters on the early Tekken games, for example.
But I'm 51 now, I don't want to 'git gud' at the expense of more relaxing experiences elsewhere in my games library. Doubtless more a reflection of my state of mind than Elden Ring itself, but it's why these kind of games are not for me.
@Eldritch ah, got you. and yes, hard to argue it isn't worth the extra £34 when you look at what you get
Since I've got it I've been hopelessly addicted to Tetris connected, at the expense of all the 'big' games on it, but if I can find more hidden gems I'd never have considered buying then it's an even bigger win.
@Eldritch if your Playstation plus had run out, how did you get Extra for £34? Unless it's for just 3 months, last I checked, it's £84 (minus any discounted PSN credit saving)
@Burntbreadman It's £32.99 for base game and £44.99 for the deluxe with the first DLC. So that's pretty steep. Especially as the second DLC came out a year ago - why couldn't that have been included too?
I'll wait for either a decent sale (which from what you're saying sounds unlikely) or I'll venture over to my Turkey PSN account where the deluxe is around £26.
Port is being done by the devs who brought Prison Architect to console so hopefully they'll do a decent enough job with the UI translation.
Downloaded RDR2 off Extra. First time I'd played it since I traded it in years ago
My God, nearly four years on the controls are even worse than I remembered. Like wading through treacle comes to mind. Deleted that poo as fast as I could.
@AnnetteM yes I downloaded the PS5 version and had a quick blast. Not sure it's the kind of game that benefits too much from the upgrade (although the elimination of all the load times was welcome)
To those who haven't played, it's a fun game and surprisingly deep upgrade loops to keep you wanting to go further.

Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium Members Get All Main Yakuza Games Before End of 2022
@LiamCroft ".....The highest tier then also gets Yakuza 3 Remastered, Yakuza 4 Remastered, and Yakuza 5 Remastered..."
They're coming to Extra, so technically not the highest tier. Might be worth clarifying that in the article 👍
Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium Members Get All Main Yakuza Games Before End of 2022
This is great - I've almost bought the remasters several times, holding back due to time required, backlog and uncertainty over how much I'd really enjoy them.
This takes away all such issues.
Re: Gran Turismo 7 PS5, PS4 Update 1.19 Adds Three More Cars, New Scapes
I was a massive fan of the earlier games and I'm not sure why, but my interest in this one dropped off pretty quick and hasn't returned.
Might give it another go when they add in that Sophy AI.

Re: Hands On: Saints Row Is That Same Dumb Fun, But Better
Is there a day/night cycle in this one?
Only curious; won't be buying this and will only play if/when it comes to Extra.

Re: Random: Cats Watching Stray Is Your New Favourite Twitter Account
It's like a Venn diagram with Cats, Videogames and Social Media, and Stray in the middle.
Re: Massive PS Store Summer Sale Is Live Now, 1,500+ Games Included
I'm interested in Deaths Door and The Ascent, both on sale, but you just know they're going to be on PS Extra in the coming months.
Put another way, without PS Extra I'd have been on here posting how I'd just bought them.
It's going to save me a load of money 👍
Re: Some PS Plus Extra Subscribers Face Issues Downloading Final Fantasy VII Remake PS5 Version
Intermission content still can't be added. Perhaps it won't be, and Sony will leave that as paid DLC.
Re: PSN Is Offline for Many Players Around the World on Stray Day

I did try to download FF7 Intermission but no joy with that anyway. Hopefully Sony fix the license, or whatever else is preventing us getting the content, soon.

Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for July 2022 Available to Download Now
@TanukiLuke I even tried the reset licence thing but makes no difference.
Other than that though, very happy to have the range of games Plus has given us this month.

Re: The Critically Acclaimed Inscryption Hits PS5, PS4 on 30th August
@Dpishere probably not on launch, but very likely in medium term, and I really don't need to buy any more gams while I'm waiting for it!
Re: The Critically Acclaimed Inscryption Hits PS5, PS4 on 30th August
Will definitely play this on Extra when it comes to it.

Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium PS5, PS4 Games for July 2022 Revealed
@Netret0120 it's amazing isn't it! I'm the same, load of Extra games to play and that's not including my own library of unplayed stuff.
It's a first world problem, but it would be perfect if Sony give us folders in the yearly firmware upgrade to aid in organising this game overload.
Extra is killing it right now.
Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium PS5, PS4 Games for July 2022 Revealed
@Milktastrophe seems unclear if we get the Intermission element at the moment
Edit apparently we do...great!
Re: Over 50 Ubisoft Games Coming to PS Plus Extra, Premium by End of 2022

for whatever reason, can't stand that in modern games but interested otherwise.

Can't wait.
Along with F1 Manager 22, probably my only day 1 buy this year.
Re: The Crew 2's Scruffy 60fps PS5 Update Will Improve
Nah. I gave it a go, was underwhelmed, and won't be back.
Re: Sony Officially Licenses PS5 SSD from Western Digital
@Shinnok789 but you at least have a choice of buying off the shelf SSD's for the PS5.
Rather that than the MS route, where you ONLY have the 'offical' SSD and that's your lot.
Re: Sony Officially Licenses PS5 SSD from Western Digital
Great SSD, have had one in my PS5 for a few months but no-one should be paying the crazy prices quoted in this article.
I paid £120 total for my 1TB SN850, including the Sabrent heatsink, which is probably better than whatever one is bundled with this 'deal".
Re: Jade Raymond's Haven Studios Catches the Attention of PS5, PS4 Architect Mark Cerny
All the pieces falling into place for Sony now. PSVR2 will be the icing on the cake.
Very optimistic for this generation.

Re: Hands On: The Crew 2's PS5 Patch Feels Better at 60fps, But There's a Catch
Regardless of the patch, I just didn't like the game. Trashy presentation, tacky story and voice acting and bland gameplay.
Uninstalled.

Re: Feature: What Are Your Most Anticipated PS5, PS4 Games for the Rest of 2022?
@Piyo "....500€ for the PS5 and all I use it for are old games..."
Exactly the same!
What have I played most on my launch day delivered PS5? Binding Of Isaac, Stardew Valley, Pinball Arcade and some of the PS5-patched PS4 games.
Loading time improvements are the most welcome part, although the UI is still way worse than PS4, which I don't really understand.
Re: Feature: What Are Your Most Anticipated PS5, PS4 Games for the Rest of 2022?
Why no F1 manager 22?
Apart from Rimworld, it's the only game I'm looking to buy day one this year.
