@kyleforrester87 hope you had fun, IMHO the first was the best and every game after added stuff which detracted from the so close to perfect core of a game they had there.
I'm going to dip into Dreams this weekend as we've got construction going on so I don't want to get into something of any substance with all the noise and disruption. After that I'm trying to decide between Ghost of Tsushima or The Witcher 3 which have both been mouldering on my backlog for some time.
I've been away overnight, but when I get home I'll probably be finishing off Sniper Elite 5, and contemplating whether to do it all again on Authentic to get the platinum
I'm currently in between games having just played through the excellent Forgotten City. Trying to decide between Ghost of Tsushima and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart
It's great that this is finally coming out, but I really hope they provide deals on a matched pair, because on its own this isn't enough to play most games, and £160/$180 is a large amount to add on top of a £450 console for those who need it. (For reference £160 is about 1½ weeks worth of higher rate UK disability benefits, but given how said benefit is supposed to cover how much more expensive daily life is for disabled period, and many of us struggle to get by, it likely represents a significant period of saving)
Being disabled myself I'm lucky enough that my disability doesn't often physically stop me from using the Dualsense, but gaming is huge for quality of life when so much of the physical world is inaccessible, and it's something I'd hope more people can get access to through this.
@wiiware I have no idea what the Cleopatra documentary you keep going on about is, and I also find it hilarious that you think living in a western country means I don't meet people from around the world on a regular basis, and that I haven't travelled.
You seem really het up about nothing but your own colourism, which while amusing, I'm going to leave you to it. Peace out
@wiiware my dude, that right there is what we might describe as an olive skin tone, which is common in people from the middle East. Just because people in America can also have that skin tone, doesn't mean people with that skin tone are American.
@dimi exactly. It's kinda weird to me that I'm able to convey so much more information with two comments than the professionally written article above?
This article is somewhat misleading as the announcement states that there will be need at the end of September including who the new studio is.
The pre-orders have been cancelled because what will release is significantly different to what people were promised, and the physical items with collectors editions will be different if they even exist.
I'm not worried given how the Discord server has been reorganized and they've revealed a new community manager for the game.
@Khayl would it be possible to include any of this in the main article body? Maybe a screenshot of the linked message for those who won't click through?
Just took advantage of this for another year of Extra. The best discount on ShopTo right now is the £84 card for £69.85 which is 16.8% off. The £80 card is 16.4% off, etc (I ended up writing a script to crush the numbers, output at the end).
That left £21.01, of which I spent £15.99 on Burning Shores, so I still have £5.02 sitting in my wallet
I guess that just shows what a big franchise name can do to sell a game without it actually being any good, and that your average punter doesn't read reviews?
It can't all be streamers buying it for some sort of meme value?
To me the Spider-Man games are good, but not the masterpieces they seem to be described as. Decent stories and fun movement mechanics, but the combat and the crime fighting leaves a lot to be desired. It feels like they're 7 or 8/10 games which are hyped as 10/10s and they just don't hold a candle in my mind to GoW or Horizon.
All of that said, I can definitely see improvements in the trailer, and anyone who thinks it looks like the PS4 game is tripping
@naruball don't forget electricity and internet. Probably water and heating too if you want to be comfortable all year round. It's a huge investment when you put it all together.
@3Above to be fair I'll likely wait on a sale for the second game. I'm currently saving Burning Shores, for instance, to play when I've got time to do it all in one go, so there's plenty in my backlog, but if you think that going straight through to MM would be fine even if I was looking forward to playing 2 asap, that probably tells me I'm good to play straight through
I've finished the story in Spider-Man and I'm trying to decide whether to finish all the crimes and various other map icons, move straight on to Miles Morales, or take a break and start Kena.
What do you all think? Will going straight into MM just mean I'm burned out on the franchise before I'm finished, or does it keep things fresh and introduce enough new stuff to keep things interesting?
Wow, some people here are real salty about the idea of disabled people getting to enjoy their hobby. Always glad to see more accessibility options whether they're personally useful or not
Currently playing Spider-Man before it disappears (about to start act 3). Finding the combat kinda irritating (reminds me a lot of the Rocksteady Batman games which I didn't particularly enjoy) but everything else is pretty cool. How different Vs more of the same is Miles Morales?
@GodofCapcom a previous announcement showed a mount that flies but also dives under water. There's definitely new machines, they're just not showing too many of them
I only finished the platinum a few weeks ago, so I'm going to play a few other games and come back to it, but I'm definitely looking forward to a second playthrough. Not doing what I did with the 2018 game though - the platinum for that needed something like 3 playthroughs and I did them back to back, so when I played through recently to refresh myself before starting GoWR it felt incredibly stale.
Bit of a weird one, but in between Hitman Freelancer I've been playing Zombi, which I started years ago on the WiiU at an old workplace (in lunch breaks) and never finished before I moved on to the next job.
@SJBUK sounds about right - the m.2 drives are for general use, while the onboard storage was optimised for gaming where read speeds are a lot more important than write speeds.
It's important to note that there has been a couple of years for fabrication of the faster chips to get cheaper, and the onboard storage had to be a fixed spec for the life of the console generation, and that while a higher spec might have been possible, it would have made the console more expensive.
@Snake_V5 I can tell you for a fact that if you don't touch the screen, they go away. There will be black bars if your aspect ratio doesn't match because otherwise things will be stretched and gross, but if you've got an OLED screen then you really don't notice, it's just like having bezels
@Jayslow you don't, but the official client only supports the Dualsense and the Dualshock 4, or touch controls, so if you want to use a third party controller you need to use a third party app
Probably more Hitman Freelancer, although I'm looking for a more chilled out game to play in-between. I gave Anno 1800 a go while it was on trial, but that just showed me that I'm burned out on that genre, all I won't buy it to carry on.
@AFCC I feel like Wick's gun-fu might be hard to do well, and IOI wouldn't be the right studio for it - they make cool slow games of stealth and deception, while John Wick is about cool streamlined action.
I kinda see John Wick as a Max Payne style thing with active pause
To be honest, assuming their Bond game uses the same engine, I could see them updating Hitman VR as an exercise in familiarising themselves with the changes if the intend to include a VR mode for the Bond game
