Pretty boring so far to be honest. Yes the lack of a proper tutorial can be frustrating and will bother some more than others, but it's the lack of narrative, direction, and purpose that really gets to me. Outside of collecting materials so you can move on to the next area to collect more materials, there doesn't seem to be a lot to do and that just isn't engaging at all to me. Obviously I haven't played a lot and I hope it opens up more options to dig into but right now I'd rather play a game like Xenoblade Chronicles X and explore one amazing planet with tons to do, than this with billions of boring planets with barely anything in them.
Jeez, did enough games even come out this year for an awards show? It feels like Uncharted 4 is going to win everything by default but that could just be my inner, bitter Nintendo fan in me thats upset at how little has been released this year.
Looks like someone put their vocabulary to use for this review. This game was patched just in time for the PS4 release right? I heard it was supposed to include more endings and something akin to a new game plus mode. I don't know if I'm right but I would have loved to see it mentioned in this review as well as just replayability in general.
You guys are funny. This is the Final Fantasy X Tidus laugh scene all over again. Most of those voice actors are seasoned pros and know what they are doing. Crispin Freeman is extremely passionate about voice acting. There's a difference between poor acting and a poor script. These actors can't help if they were told to deliver it this way. So guess what? If you don't like this dub, you probably don't like cheesey Shonen anime dubs either, because this is more or less what this game is aiming to be, because let's face it, Star Ocean has always been Square Enix's Tales of franchise.
So I might just be drunk but I'm fairly certain the headline reads "Trails of Osiris" and not Trials of Osiris like it should. Sorry to be the alcoholic red penner.
@DualWielding I believe it was an intentional choice to attempt to immerse the player and have them feel the same frustration as Jodie over the lack of control over her life. It was an important theme. Telling the story out of chronological order also allowed for the dev team to sprinkle in action and grand set pieces in places they wouldn't normally be in order to help the pacing. There is actually a video on YouTube that plays through the entire game in chronological order and the first like 3 hours of it are super boring because all of the big momemts happen much later in her life. So the game was never meant to be about choice but more about what it's like to be Jodie and live her messed up life.
Kickstarter for a Zone Of the Enders spiritual successor please. I think if there's one game Kojima would still want to make with his newfound freedom, it would be a new ZOE styled game.
@BLPs. I dunno. I think there was no market for these kinds of games because there were no truly good ones being made. Surely the 1 million earned through Kickstarter wasn't just clamoring Wii U owners.
This reminds me of the PS2 NISA game Ar Tonelico 2 where spots were left untranslated as well as a game breaking glitch where a major plot boss at the very end of the game would crash your game if he performed a certain attack that he is guaranteed to do in about 5 turns or less, a glitch that was suspiciously nowhere to be found in the original Japanese game, even though NISA themselves said it wasn't from their end. Great job NISA! at least this bug can be patched unlike in the PS2 era. :/
On the battle expertise side of things, Yu is an inexperienced teenager who got his start fighting with a golf club. I'll give that one to Squall. On the sommoning side of things however.... Yu's got Lucifer. I kinda feel like it would be silly for Lucifer to lose out to any Final Fantasy summon by default. I'm actually ok with either winning this fight. Good match up.
I Would say that Dante Vs. Bayonetta would be a better match up but I think they would just end up sleeping together, with Bayonetta giving Dante a fake number afterwards. Lol
I feel like this game is a pretty good example of the devisiveness of Persona 4 between SMT fans and Persona fans lol. But whatever, a good game is a good game.
I feel bad for all the Monster Hunter fans who got their start on PS2 and PSP but haven't made the jump to 3DS. However, I'm also jealous that they get great titles like Soul Sacrifice, Gods Eater, and Freedom Wars. I hope Gods Eater 2 gets a NA release.
I think the best thing for all of us to do as gamers is go out and buy a WiiU and ignore the other consoles. Seriously if the WiiU starts selling like hot cakes after Microsoft and Sony announce their DRM policies I think the gaming industry would get the point.

I feel like Dirty Dancing would have made a better tag line than Just Dance given the review score lol

Re: Mighty No. 9 Gets Yet Another Release Date on PS4, Vita Version Gets Pushed Back Further
Did anyone already make the joke that this will be given a 20XX release date? Yes? I'll leave now.

Re: Watch as a Single Destiny Player Dominates Trials of Osiris Without Dying
@ShogunRok That's funny because I almost misspelled osiris when I made that post! I had to go back and double check it lol. Glad I could help

Re: Opinion: We're So Sick of Saving the Bloody World
This is why I miss the DotHack games. Why save the world when you can save "The World"
Re: Adr1ft Lost in Space Until 2016
@SKC_Diamond Dude, careful not to make that guy mad.... He's summoning the Dragon Zord!

Re: Site News: Fill in Our Reader Survey and We'll Give You a Gold Star
Done. But may I ask why I didn't see Pure Xbox mentioned in the survey like your other two sites? Is it because I'm really tired? X_X
Re: Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Continues to Look like One of Vita's Most Promising Games
Just tell me there's a social link and Digimon fusing systems and I'm in lol

Re: Sony May Be Working on a Game Named, Er, Fluster Cluck

Am I the only one who feels that the subtitle to the headline should have read "Fresh Prince?" ?

Re: Game of the Month: October 2013 - Beyond: Two Souls
More of these videos please! Loved it! Also pretty happy with the choice of Beyond winning game of the month, even though Dragan's Crown was awesome.

Re: Out Now: Beyond: Two Souls Explores the Other Side on PS3
Finished this last night. Really enjoyed it but the ending left me wanting more. An extra DLC chapter to finish the story perhaps?
Re: Oh No, Vanille's Going to Be in Lighting Returns: Final Fantasy XIII
I think it's funny that apparently not even FFXIII fans can agree on which character was the worst. I think that just means they're all bad.

Nice reference in the subtitle you got there!
