All they would have to do is crank the graphics and offer 4K 60fps on pro, 4K 30fps on base, better than PS4 settings for performance mode and that’s it. Free update. Why are people willing to pay this? So weird..
It would be nice to get something new from Rockstar other than GTA and RDR. It’s really all we’ve had from them in the past 10 years. Their output during the PS2 days is what made them legendary. Now we wait almost a decade for a new game from them because they’re always going bigger with each release. RDR 2 will be 7 years old in 3 weeks and we’re still waiting on their next game. Meanwhile the game before that turned 12 years old this month.
I also don’t understand why instead of feeding us some content for RDR2 they’ve opted to milk GTA 5 down to the atoms. I love GTA, but let’s be real, RDR2 is the better masterpiece
Hoping this isn’t a GTA Definitive situation, especially with Unreal Engine being used. I’m excited to see how it holds up to the mod that’s also slated to release this year
They can make the console graphically on par with the PC, they’ve been doing that for years. But as others have said you still have to choose between graphics and performance on the Pro while on PC you can get the best of both worlds. Yes that comes at a price far above the console but hasn’t that always been the case?
Here’s hoping it doesn’t cost $800 with disc drive and stand sold separately, because with the current state of the GPU market I don’t see myself playing anything but indie titles on PC for a while
The patent of the nemesis system doesn’t hurt as much as the closing of the studio. Monolith made some fantastic games and were clear innovators in an industry that rarely likes to innovate except for when it comes to exploiting players’ wallets with loot boxes and micro transactions. We lost a good one. RIP Monolith.
@Icey664 exactly what I said.. Looks like I should’ve bought this on Steam but I didn’t have a lot of faith in my 3070ti because of the 8GB of vram. This one should’ve been a wait and see type of deal but I love MH so it is what it is…this one time 😩
Edit: watched the DF analysis and will be waiting for after release of this before handing over my money
I don't think the first Sims got a console version but I remembering playing The Sims 2 on PS2 for hours as a kid and loved it. I don't see them releasing console ports of the PC versions though..They'd have to not only update and port over old code but have to deal with the UI and control scheme changes, and who knows what else
Safe to say nothing is off the table now. It’s like when they decided to go all in with PC. That means I can get all non-Nintendo AAA games on my PS5 and play indie titles on Steam because Nvidia can miss me with those GPU prices
I went with it’s just okay to me. Playing the first two games and coming into this one I definitely have some fatigue because all three of the Sony games basically play the same. I also agree that everybody is too nice. It’s really weird and at times really cringe. I think I’d enjoy it more if it was rated M with a bit more darker tones to it. As it is though I think I’m burned out on Spider-Man for awhile, so I’m happy Insomniac is focusing on Wolverine. Hopefully that one is rated M and has actual more mature writing
@NEStalgia Uncharted 2 was my first entry into the series, mainly because even at the time it was really talked about fondly so I got off Amazon but couldn’t get into it back then and so I didn’t play it properly until the remastered collection came out on PS4. I enjoyed my time with it but going from 1-2-3 I can see the refinements Naughty Dog made and so Uncharted 3 ended up being my favorite one.
@tameshiyaku that makes sense. Thanks for the context. I could tell they definitely were going for a certain style which wasn't a problem to me. I still enjoyed the games, I just couldn’t really understand the immense fondness for Uncharted 2 specifically. Reading through the comments tho puts a lot of it into perspective. I guess for me my Uncharted 2 is GTA 4 so I understand.
@NEStalgia I played the trilogy in order not too long ago and just felt like the story of 1 and 2 are basically the same. Antagonist has unlimited number of goons willing to die for them, they always manage to stay 1 step ahead of Drake & friends, they find the mythical object/place but turns out it comes with strings attached that happen to be supernatural in nature, boss fight, antagonist dies, Drake walks away with nothing.
It baffles me why Uncharted 2 specifically gets all the praise.
I’m not even going to attempt this because I know this is going to be a disaster. The Spider-Man plates were enough of a sign how this release will turn out
You can say the same for No Man’s Sky. Every major update comes with new content that has all been free. No DLC or microtransactions infest the game. It’s my favorite example of a live service game that isn’t labeled as such by anyone else
I’d love to see it on PC the same way a lot of these comments that are vehemently against it cheered when Indiana Jones got announced for PS5.
I’m glad Sony is asking these questions and the gatekeeping is becoming a thing of the past. PlayStation isn’t going anywhere, at least not any time soon
I’m gonna be honest here and say Microsoft releasing a console after this generation will be a really baffling decision, more so than Xbox Game Pass being allowed on PlayStation. More games to more gamers just like Phil Spencer prophesied all those years ago
Despite the unpolished nature of it at launch, this was their highest quality Assassin’s Creed to date. The graphics and gameplay mechanics still hold up 10 years later. Crazy that it has been 10 years already..
Dang. I backed it on kickstarter but not at that level.. couldn’t afford it then. Pretty cool of them to remember the people that did, however and somehow getting their publisher to agree
Super Slim PS3 with HEN takes care of my needs, but playing so many of the games in my collection at a decent framerate with a resolution bump would be amazing without having to deal with a PC emulator…ripping the games, then transferring them over, then playing with shader compilation stutter for awhile, assuming that’s still a thing. I stopped trying a while ago.
I want a PC port of it because it will lead to either a PS5 version or a patch to allow the PS4 run at 60fps on PS5. That in itself would be huge. Also more people being able to play this great game isn’t a bad thing. I’ll never understand the weird gate keeping on here
Sony sold the game in those regions knowing they were going to require a PSN account after launch. The comments here placing blame on the end user for not keeping up with a requirement that didn’t exist when the game launched is a ridiculous notion.
Personally I’d rather have an account requirement as opposed to needing to install a separate program and needing it to run in the background to play the game, but I can still understand the frustration of needing to keep up with yet another account when previously I didn’t before. The lack of basic empathy among gamers and just humans in general is really sad.
Wonder why Sony felt the need to develop this. Is resolution and ray tracing really that important to console gamers? I’d prefer developers focus on making their games run at 60 fps at least. To get the best of both worlds is why anyone would go the extra mile and get a capable PC
Guess spending all those billions finally caught up to them, or maybe this was the plan all along 🤔 now we wait and see if there’s any Xbox consoles next gen
This is a great advertisement to not buy the other two games because with the servers shut down the game is unplayable. I like to reinstall games from time to time and play through them, can’t do that with games like this that rely on servers, and a lot of Ubisoft games released in the past 10 years rely on servers to function
Don’t think I’ll like “upgrading” consoles like I would graphics cards. Plus a lot of people are now getting their hands on the PS5 from recent sales and after 2/3 years of it being scalped
