Re: Why Did We Never Get Bully 2? Rockstar Co-Founder Dan Houser Explains

ryanburnsred

It would be nice to get something new from Rockstar other than GTA and RDR. It’s really all we’ve had from them in the past 10 years. Their output during the PS2 days is what made them legendary. Now we wait almost a decade for a new game from them because they’re always going bigger with each release. RDR 2 will be 7 years old in 3 weeks and we’re still waiting on their next game. Meanwhile the game before that turned 12 years old this month.

I also don’t understand why instead of feeding us some content for RDR2 they’ve opted to milk GTA 5 down to the atoms. I love GTA, but let’s be real, RDR2 is the better masterpiece

Re: Classic The Sims Launches on PC, But No Sign of the PS2 Versions

ryanburnsred

I don't think the first Sims got a console version but I remembering playing The Sims 2 on PS2 for hours as a kid and loved it. I don't see them releasing console ports of the PC versions though..They'd have to not only update and port over old code but have to deal with the UI and control scheme changes, and who knows what else

Re: Poll: One Year Later, How Would You Rate Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on PS5?

ryanburnsred

I went with it’s just okay to me. Playing the first two games and coming into this one I definitely have some fatigue because all three of the Sony games basically play the same. I also agree that everybody is too nice. It’s really weird and at times really cringe. I think I’d enjoy it more if it was rated M with a bit more darker tones to it. As it is though I think I’m burned out on Spider-Man for awhile, so I’m happy Insomniac is focusing on Wolverine. Hopefully that one is rated M and has actual more mature writing

Re: PlayStation Community Reflects on Iconic Uncharted 2: Among Thieves for 15th Anniversary

@NEStalgia Uncharted 2 was my first entry into the series, mainly because even at the time it was really talked about fondly so I got off Amazon but couldn’t get into it back then and so I didn’t play it properly until the remastered collection came out on PS4. I enjoyed my time with it but going from 1-2-3 I can see the refinements Naughty Dog made and so Uncharted 3 ended up being my favorite one.

@tameshiyaku that makes sense. Thanks for the context. I could tell they definitely were going for a certain style which wasn't a problem to me. I still enjoyed the games, I just couldn’t really understand the immense fondness for Uncharted 2 specifically. Reading through the comments tho puts a lot of it into perspective. I guess for me my Uncharted 2 is GTA 4 so I understand.

@NEStalgia I played the trilogy in order not too long ago and just felt like the story of 1 and 2 are basically the same. Antagonist has unlimited number of goons willing to die for them, they always manage to stay 1 step ahead of Drake & friends, they find the mythical object/place but turns out it comes with strings attached that happen to be supernatural in nature, boss fight, antagonist dies, Drake walks away with nothing.

It baffles me why Uncharted 2 specifically gets all the praise.

Re: Do You Want Astro Bot on PC? Creative Director Wants to Know

ryanburnsred

I’d love to see it on PC the same way a lot of these comments that are vehemently against it cheered when Indiana Jones got announced for PS5.

I’m glad Sony is asking these questions and the gatekeeping is becoming a thing of the past. PlayStation isn’t going anywhere, at least not any time soon

Re: Rumour: Sony's Still Working on PS3 Emulation for PS5

ryanburnsred

Super Slim PS3 with HEN takes care of my needs, but playing so many of the games in my collection at a decent framerate with a resolution bump would be amazing without having to deal with a PC emulator…ripping the games, then transferring them over, then playing with shader compilation stutter for awhile, assuming that’s still a thing. I stopped trying a while ago.

Re: Sony Doubles Down on Helldivers 2 PSN Requirement by Taking It Off Sale for PC in Numerous Countries

ryanburnsred

Sony sold the game in those regions knowing they were going to require a PSN account after launch. The comments here placing blame on the end user for not keeping up with a requirement that didn’t exist when the game launched is a ridiculous notion.

Personally I’d rather have an account requirement as opposed to needing to install a separate program and needing it to run in the background to play the game, but I can still understand the frustration of needing to keep up with yet another account when previously I didn’t before. The lack of basic empathy among gamers and just humans in general is really sad.
