Bandai Namco has revealed a 28th August release date for Super Robot Wars Y — the latest instalment in the long-running crossover franchise.

This one's a big deal because it marks the first worldwide launch in series history, with the full announcement happening back in March.

For those totally out of the loop, Super Robot Wars gathers numerous mecha-based anime properties together for one big, tactical RPG adventure. The above release date trailer shows off plenty of new gameplay footage.

It also confirms which properties will be included this time around, and it's a pretty impressive list that covers decades of Japanese mecha.
