You could give everyone a 2TB internal drive in the PS5 and they'd still moan about game filesizes being too high.
Play less at once, store on cheapo external drive, redownload if you have fast internet. It's not tough unless you want to make it a first world problem.
@Nightcrawler71 Just too much power needed for that this gen.
Look on the bright side... we now have pretty much guaranteed 60fps on PS5, combined with more detail, higher base resolutions and decent upscaling solutions. All with fast loading.
Lost In Random for a tenner (nearer £8 with the discounted credit that most smart people get) is the standout here, and the only purchase from this for me.
so COD I don't play anymore. Apart from Spyro and Crash (meh imo) have I missed anything else good that Playstation is going to potentially lose to Xbox exclusivity from this?
I don't think he really believes Sony will put first party stuff on it day one - it's smart for him to say it now so that when they don't, he can come back and say 'how shocked he is, how he expected differently, how it's a poor decision for playstation gamers' etc etc
edit: just seen @SoulChimera shares my cynical worldview!
As someone who's made a significant sum of money from blockchain, specifically bitcoin, by acquiring a number of coins years ago when smart people liked to mock and deride it, and selling small portions of it at ever higher prices ever since, I witness the same anger towards NFTs.
Everyone criticising them, knowing what they know now with regards to price appreciation and market adoption, would quite happily go back a year or two and buy some apes or similar at the price they were then.
They're quite pointless imo, same as I think bitcoin is pointless actually, but let's not kid ourselves - a lot of the faux rage is borne out of good old human bitterness and jealousy.
First party PS4/PS5 games after a certain period (a year...perhaps even nine months) for the top tier would definitely interest me...I rarely buy day one anyway, but the option is still there for those who can't wait or don't want to subscribe, and the value is there for those who can.
But maybe more realistic is an expanded now with more recent or even new third party games included. Would be tempted if the price is right.
@Th3solution for me, going multiconsole is less about the quantity of games exceeding available time (I too have plenty of to-be-played stuff on PS4/5) and more about removing a barrier of access and potential frustration regarding platform specific titles now and further into the gen.
I also agree with an earlier point about Gamepass saving money on enough AA and indie games to go towards the occasional PS exclusive.
@KayOL77 yes, I ummed and ahhed a lot at the start of the gen before going for PS5, and I'm sure if I'd plumped for Series X back then I'd be scouring the web for a PS5 by now instead of the other way round 😀
After having a PS5 since day one, I'm relenting and getting a Series X with Gamepass as soon as I can obtain one - will just be nice to have access to everything on both platforms with no missing out on any particular game.
But I'd emphasise this will be to go alongside my PS5, not replace it.
@Puketapu Loved DE at first, but once the novelty of the dialogue choices and the talking thoughts wore off I found myself glazing over or skipping more and more of the 'lore' text and simply, like yourself, losing interest.
Got some hours out of it though and had always been curious to play it, so c'est la vie.
Gaming is not like food or household bills - it's a hobby, and not a particularly cheap one, but no-one is forcing anyone to buy anything. From the comments on here and similar articles, you'd almost not think that was the case.
Same with the weird hatred for digital, and those who buy it. Why get upset over something that doesn't affect your life at all??!! Plenty of us prefer digital, and are perfectly fine paying whatever we choose to pay in sales, with cheap credit, or at full price, but most of us don't rush to articles proclaiming how much we hate discs!
Gave Dirt 5 a chance but even on PS5 I was bored after an hour.
Graphics are nice but it's all a bit meh and the vibration on the dualsense is piss poor - sounds like someone has put a buzzer in the controller. Triggers not so bad though.
I like racing games but this disappointed as much as any other numbered dirt game has. Will stick to NFS hot pursuit, GT Sport and Dirt Rally 2.0
Oh, and don't get me started on the truly embarrassing 'bro banter' in the voiceovers. Haven't we left this cringeworthy stuff behind yet?!
Perfect Plus game though tbh, cash saved and curiosity satisfied.
@themightyant £125 for 1TB (£105 for an SSD and max of £20 for that lovely Sabrent heatsink) is not that bad and about the most I'd pay if/when I need that extra space.
May well set up an alert on HotUKDeals as you suggest. Using an external SSD and keeping less games at once on the internal drive is the less lazy and more economical option for all of us though at this stage of the gen!
OK....due to the relentless praise on this (and other) pages for Disco Elysium Final Cut, along with more than a little curiosity to try something different, I finally gave in and purchased it for £17 thanks to the PSN sale combined with discounted credit.
@MrGilly69 I was in your position - I didn't find it obvious but, assuming you have a PS5, I outlined the way I did it in the comments for the article about it (credit to others who pointed me the right way):
@Dr-M Yes! You'll get all the extra content and improvements made to it over 10+ years.
BoI is not so much complex as obtuse, especially when new to it all. It may seem very basic and crude, hard to play, and confusing, all at the same time. Initially you might wonder what all the fuss is about. But experience and/or online guides are your friend, depending how much or how little information you want.
I still occasionally have to look up what an item or pill does because there's so damn many.
BoI is my second most played game ever, second only to Stardew Valley. And with Repentance and the time I'm putting in I'm pretty sure those two will flip around sooner or later.
After not playing BoI much since Afterbirth dlc (didn't buy ab+ as read enough bad things to put me off) I bought Repentance and it's hooked me hard again!
I'm not by any means good enough to understand the intricacies of how all the changes have affected the game as a whole, but I do know I'm loving it to the extent that even newly acquired stuff such as Ghost of Tsushima on the PS5 is being left unplayed.
Rare game imo that is enjoyable, endlessly replayable and addictive whatever level you're at.
@B_Lindz No, I finally sorted it thanks to some advice earlier in the comments from @Ward_ting - it's a real weird way you have to go to get it! Could only do it from the PS5 itself in my case. Sony sure haven't made it user friendly:
Download the PS+ version if you don't already have it.
Go to the three dots by the game on your PS5, select 'View Product'
On the next page, go to the three dots again and select 'Final Fantasy VII Remake upgrade for PS4 owners'
On the next page go to the three dots one more time and you'll see 'Game' twice with a tick on the top one - that's the PS4 version. Select the bottom one (which is the PS5 version) and the 'add to library' and 'download' boxes will FINALLY appear. Then you can download the PS5 version and you get the 'choose version' option on the dashboard then too.
This was the only way I could get it to work - couldn't do it via the mobile app or the store directly in my case.
@Ward_ting could you please tell me did you go via the store and add to library there for the upgrade or from the PS4 game icon on the system as this article says?
Still having a few issues 'finding' the right upgrade from my PS+ version!
@TBubs311 Same here...the Sony discount last month coupled with a 20% saving from Eneba on the credit to buy it meant I'm now subbed on plus until Jan 2026. Just shoot me now 😏

@Intr1n5ic indeed. The entitlement is strong with this site
Re: Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection's PS5 Trophies Are a Complete Bust
Do people really base purchase decisions on something as intrinsically worthless and unimportant as trophies?

On Gamepass at launch.

Planet Coaster PS5 - very happy with that!

Even though I can still remember loading up Moon Cresta on cassette for my ZX Spectrum and loving it, this is apparently £40.
So, no.
Re: Rainbow Six: Extraction (PS5) – Limited Time Event Turned Middling Co-Op Shooter
Wouldn't spend one pence on this trash; gamepass is definitely the right place for it.
Re: Access a Huge Vault of PS5, PS4 Games for £3.99/$4.99 with EA Play
@Kopite they cost even less than £60 on digital unless you're dumb enough to not buy discounted credit.
If you use the right outlets you can save up to 20%, so that £70 game becomes £56 (paid that for my GT7 pre-order)
But back on topic, if I bought this I'd only play ME and It Takes Two, and with my current backlog I just cba with it!

PS6 will get there

Always 60fps for me, ray-tracing and resolution come second to that.

The (current) results of this poll are heartening.

Which is a good thing.

@Orange_Juice great value at that price - perfect time too, with the final piece of free dlc just recently added to it.

@TwistedGaming Your post is just embarrassing. Apart from the content, you have spelling and grammar mistakes and even missing words:

Look at yourself before trying to big it up behind your keyboard!
