Oh and just another little tidbit of info.. I still own a launch edition ps3 ! Not only that, the thing still works perfectly. Now that's some great hardware. Pretty wild. I wonder if it will be worth money some day lol
Yeah I've gotta agree with this. Mostly because I hate seeing this generations games getting held back because of them developing on older hardware as well. The ps3 had its time. It was a great time, with so many amazing experiences, but it's time to let it go so the gamers who bought into the next gen start getting rewarded with better games.
It actually blows my mind that mgs 5 is coming to last Gen. I can't help but think if they didn't have to develop for this extremely old hardware, we would be getting to play much much earlier.
I am genuinely interested in seeing how the ps4 is going to be powerful enough to run a VR game. It's going to need to output 1080p in each eye at 120 frames per second... let's be honest here, the next gen consoles are having a hard time with 60 frames per second.. albeit the ps4 not as much as the xbox one but still quite a bit. Unless VR games are somehow not going to be as visually impressive as regular ps4 games.. which in that case kind of sucks.
Ah well I guess time will tell. I really hope they will be able to pull it off ! But I'm putting more of my VR eggs into the pc basket at the moment.
@SurvivorOne yeah I was in the same boat about 6 months ago. I decided I wanted to learn because there were a bunch of games on pc that weren't anywhere else that I was really wanting to play.
I've got to admit I made a few dumb mistakes along the way that I could have avoided if I had of learned more before buying and ended up spending more than I should have but in the end it was a great experience and I ended up with an absolute beast of a pc. I have dual gtx 980s for my graphics cards and can play practically every thing in 4k resolution. It's pretty awesome !
@SurvivorOne hahaha yeah the ps4 is just brimming with games at 1080p 60fps... oh wait. Nope. You need a pc for that. The odd game reaching 1080p 60fps isn't really much of a seller to me. Most games have to pick 1080p or 60fps and for some odd reason most of them seem to pick resolution. When I want to play games as gorgeous as they can be I play them in 4k on my pc. Otherwise I play my ps4 and Xbox one.

I started playing on Saturday still haven't finished it since I was pretty busy but I am really enjoying it! I love the combat so far. It feels really satisfying to snap out of cover and pop off a head shot and back into cover again. Had to turn off auto aim immediately and put the game on hard.. wish there was a very hard setting though as its still not much of a challenge. But this game for me is just like getting to play a cool movie. Really enjoying the story so far.
Well this is quite unfortunate :/ I was hoping for a 7 or 7.5 at least.. doesn't seem like much of a difference but in my opinion the difference between a 6 and a 7.5 is huge.. oh well still picking this up tomorrow to see for myself !

I guess what I'm trying to show here is I don't bash Sony just because I'm a bigger fan of xbox. Literally the only bad thing I ever have to say about Sony and ps4 is about psn.. and I have definitely been very vocal on that front time and time again because I believe it's completely unacceptable. It is a PAID service these days after all. The only reason I bring xbox into that specific discussion is because it's the most directly related platform to compare it to, and I'm just being honest when I say that xbox is much more stable on that front.
If we were to talk about other things such as games running better or the quality of ps+ compared to xbox gold then I would very clearly say that the ps4 is much better in those specific areas. It just seems to me that it's you who is being naive here and is defending something that deserves to be put down.

I made it specifically to be able to game in 4k. I have dual gtx 980s running in SLI...and a samsung 40 inch 4k tv for my monitor and I can say with 100% certainty that pc gaming is NOT that much better. Don't get me wrong a game that plays on both pc and console, if you have a high end pc it does look really nice and definitely better... but the price of just ONE of my graphics cards is more than a ps4.. so is the difference big enough for that kind of money ? 100% NO. It had to be said lol had to get that off my chest. I always just believed yeah these pc guys must be right it must be a huge leap in quality... but now that I have a beast of a pc sitting in my man cave around the corner from my Xbox one/ps4 and 75 inch samsung led tv and I can compare the two.. I can say definitively that these consoles are quite capable pieces of tech.
So yea I've been playing this game since Tuesday and I'm just now really starting to love it. I was enjoying it before but now that I'm quite a bit leveled up and have some badass weapons it's much more fun. You really can start to do some pretty crazy stuff once you get past around level 14 on each of the skill trees. Pretty awesome game thus far... but yeah as far as the story goes don't even bother trying to take it serious lol its horrible and the voice acting is just rotten. But who cares.. not every game has to have award winning performances in my book! As long as it's super fun.. which it definitely is!
@stalepie2 yeah I can't take you serious after that comment. Sorry but the last of us did zombies completely different and I very much took that story seriously. I took it serious enough that I can say I was extremely emotional throughout the entire game the first time I played it...
Dying light is most definitely a purchase day one for me, can't wait.. I really hope it's as good as it looks!

Yeah that file size is definitely not very encouraging.. but in all honesty for a game like this longer isn't always better anyway. I'm perfectly fine with the game being 15 ish hours if it's a fun game and has a good story. I know a lot of gamers disagree these days because the newer generation seems to equate length with worth as if a game isn't worth the price tag if you don't get hundreds of hours of play out of it... which is why we get all this crappy tacked on multiplayer these days. Ah well its definitely a day one purchase for me. I'm really excited for the game.
Oh man this year is shaping up to be so awesome for ps4 exclusive wise. I can't wait.
On another note, I'm actually really really surprised that most of the games sold better on xbox one, with ps4 evidently having a much bigger install base. Also really surprised that dragon age sold better on xbox one than anywhere, even pc. Really different.

I know the glitch though because on xbox it shows your progress towards the achievement and it's stuck at 90% complete so that means there's one dragon in the game that isn't registering for some reason.made me so mad. I'm about halfway through the ps4 version was hoping the same wasn't going to happen but I guess it's glitched on both. That sucks.
I would genuinely like to know why Sony has to take down psn to do maintenence on it where as Microsoft can do all their maintenance without any service interruptions. It has always confused me.
@thedevilsjester what a terrible idea. Larger files are needed if we want higher res textures, uncompressed sound for people like me with an expensive 7.1 surround sound system not to mention shorter loading times when the game isn't so compressed.. and I'm sure lots of other positive things about bigger file sizes.
Having an option for external HD is SO much better than replacing the internal drive.. if you have to replace the internal that means you lose that 500 gb of space what a total waste... on my xbox one I use my internal drive coupled with a 2 TB external drive and I use an amazing product that adds a piece on to the side of the xbox one that looks like it's actually part of the system, not only that it has 3 extra usb ports. With this type of storage I have been able to keep all 50 ish games I own for my xbox one installed... yeah so much better than replacing an internal drive and screw smaller file sizes.

@NicolaHayden haha yeah its definitely a time eater. That being said you don't have to take this long to beat it.. it's possible to ignore a lot of the side questing and just continue on with the main story. It's all in how you play.
Playing the same game I feel like I've been playing for decades now lol.. dragon age inquisition. I have one last area to clear out (hissing wastes) before I continue on with the main story.. I have no idea what's left story wise but I've poured over 140 hours into the game thus far and the content just keeps coming and coming lol.

It's great to see all the love for dragon age ! I'm seriously blown away by this game. It is also definitely my game of the gen so far as well @Madd_Hatter401 & I haven't even beaten it yet. I'm 90 hours in, have barely scraped the surface of the main story. I've been using my time to find new lands and spread the influence of my inquisition as well as finding ways for my group to like and respect me more. I have 6 out of 9 of my companions right now as great friends. I haven't really done much for Solas or Vivienne though since I'm not really a big fan of either.. I love planting the inquisitions flag and genuinely feeling like your making a difference when you go into a new area and clear it out of problems and set up your camps and influence etc.. ah I could just talk all day about this game. So good.
@Godsire- yeah that's for sure man! I love the stiff competition.. then you have both companies trying to one up each other and it brings the best out of both platform holders and we reap the rewards
@Godsire- I'm actually really excited for xboxs 2015 exclusives. From halo to quantum break to crackdown phantom dust tomb raider fable legends scalebound and hopefully gears of war but unlikely. I've gotta say I'm more excited for ps4s exclusives more definitely. . But xbox one looks great for sure.
@SuperCat not sure where you got the 7 million number.. xbox ones were 10 million sold before the November ND numbers, and in all likelihood December was an even bigger month for xbox than November.. so yeah. But that being said, I'm sure Sony sold amazingly well at that time as well.. I definitely agree xbox in all likelihood won't catch ps4.. but xbox one is definitely doing great and has surpassed wii u in sales as well.

Pretty awesome game thus far... but yeah as far as the story goes don't even bother trying to take it serious lol its horrible and the voice acting is just rotten. But who cares.. not every game has to have award winning performances in my book! As long as it's super fun.. which it definitely is!

Huh..? Like 90 percent of games these days render their cut scenes in engine. What an odd point to make lol.
Yeah that file size is definitely not very encouraging.. but in all honesty for a game like this longer isn't always better anyway. I'm perfectly fine with the game being 15 ish hours if it's a fun game and has a good story. I know a lot of gamers disagree these days because the newer generation seems to equate length with worth as if a game isn't worth the price tag if you don't get hundreds of hours of play out of it... which is why we get all this crappy tacked on multiplayer these days. Ah well its definitely a day one purchase for me. I'm really excited for the game.

Oh man this year is shaping up to be so awesome for ps4 exclusive wise. I can't wait.
On another note, I'm actually really really surprised that most of the games sold better on xbox one, with ps4 evidently having a much bigger install base. Also really surprised that dragon age sold better on xbox one than anywhere, even pc. Really different.

@Bad-MuthaAdebisi yeah by the time I realized it happened I didn't know which dragon it was that didn't register. Yeah I can't be bothered either lol I doubt I'll ever attempt a platinum anyway because I don't feel like beating the game on insane difficulty lol

@Bad-MuthaAdebisi SAME thing happened to me on xbox one ! I know the glitch though because on xbox it shows your progress towards the achievement and it's stuck at 90% complete so that means there's one dragon in the game that isn't registering for some reason.made me so mad. I'm about halfway through the ps4 version was hoping the same wasn't going to happen but I guess it's glitched on both. That sucks.

@thedevilsjester what a terrible idea. Larger files are needed if we want higher res textures, uncompressed sound for people like me with an expensive 7.1 surround sound system not to mention shorter loading times when the game isn't so compressed.. and I'm sure lots of other positive things about bigger file sizes.
Having an option for external HD is SO much better than replacing the internal drive.. if you have to replace the internal that means you lose that 500 gb of space what a total waste... on my xbox one I use my internal drive coupled with a 2 TB external drive and I use an amazing product that adds a piece on to the side of the xbox one that looks like it's actually part of the system, not only that it has 3 extra usb ports. With this type of storage I have been able to keep all 50 ish games I own for my xbox one installed... yeah so much better than replacing an internal drive and screw smaller file sizes.

@NicolaHayden haha yeah its definitely a time eater. That being said you don't have to take this long to beat it.. it's possible to ignore a lot of the side questing and just continue on with the main story. It's all in how you play.

Playing the same game I feel like I've been playing for decades now lol.. dragon age inquisition. I have one last area to clear out (hissing wastes) before I continue on with the main story.. I have no idea what's left story wise but I've poured over 140 hours into the game thus far and the content just keeps coming and coming lol.

It's great to see all the love for dragon age ! I'm seriously blown away by this game. It is also definitely my game of the gen so far as well @Madd_Hatter401 & I haven't even beaten it yet. I'm 90 hours in, have barely scraped the surface of the main story. I've been using my time to find new lands and spread the influence of my inquisition as well as finding ways for my group to like and respect me more. I have 6 out of 9 of my companions right now as great friends. I haven't really done much for Solas or Vivienne though since I'm not really a big fan of either.. I love planting the inquisitions flag and genuinely feeling like your making a difference when you go into a new area and clear it out of problems and set up your camps and influence etc.. ah I could just talk all day about this game. So good.

@Godsire- I'm actually really excited for xboxs 2015 exclusives. From halo to quantum break to crackdown phantom dust tomb raider fable legends scalebound and hopefully gears of war but unlikely. I've gotta say I'm more excited for ps4s exclusives more definitely. . But xbox one looks great for sure.

@SuperCat not sure where you got the 7 million number.. xbox ones were 10 million sold before the November ND numbers, and in all likelihood December was an even bigger month for xbox than November.. so yeah. But that being said, I'm sure Sony sold amazingly well at that time as well.. I definitely agree xbox in all likelihood won't catch ps4.. but xbox one is definitely doing great and has surpassed wii u in sales as well.
