The Order: 1886 may not have received a critical reception quite on par with The Last of Us, but it is the first Sony title since Naughty Dog's next-gen remaster to reach the top of the UK sales charts. Ready at Dawn's divisive London romp shot straight into first after a heavy marketing campaign, beating out Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Evolve, Far Cry 4, and Grand Theft Auto V.
The remainder of the Top 10 painted a familiar picture, with FIFA 15, Minecraft, and Destiny all in the mix. The Last of Us Remastered actually re-entered the charts in 22nd, presumably due to retailer promotions and renewed interest in the PlayStation 4. Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, the other notable new release of the week, was sadly forced to settle for 27th position.
As always, you can peruse the full roster of movers and shakers through here. How long do you think that Sir Galahad and company will be able to hang on to the top spot? Howl like a half-breed in the comments section below.

I saw a lot of people finish this on my friends list over the weekend. Going to be interesting to see how long Sony can keep selling new copies, while existing ones get traded in.
Glad it made Number 1 & glad people ignored gaming sites scores to. Maybe i was wrong & not all gamer's are Sheep then & it's good News it sold well to because if it didn't then we would just be left with boring COD/BF/AC& FIFA yearly games only to play :-/
@get2sammyb
Price drops & bundles, Knack - Version 3.
@get2sammyb I love the game and im over 7 hours. Keep exploring every corner! Its a pretty game my only negative point is that the interaction of the world is like non existent! Its like watching a painting . My score would be a 8/10 but
im a sucker for the story!
@get2sammyb
I have to say blown away by this game, love the quality of the world, the story, and best facial expression/emotion i have ever seem in a game yet, for me it pushes the bounderies on lots of fronts...not perfect but a 6? i would go at least 8...probably 8.5 for its originality
@Sanquine yeah, finished it yesterday and I thought the story was superb. I really hope a sequel gets made. I'm going to start a second playtthrough shortly to get all the collectables I missed. I thought I was pretty thorough but I clearly missed loads considering I didn't get a single collection related trophy.
@get2sammyb it may have made more sense to release earlier in the week so that it wasn't immediately completed over 1 weekend day like I imagine a lot of people have. I reckon, a lot of people will hold into their copy for a second play through but unfortunately this games trade in value is going to plummet fast, cex already dropped their price from £38 to £33 and game is offering a measly £28 credit. I reckon by the end of march you'll be lucky to get £25.
@azurerat dem graffix! zzz zzz
@AhabSpampurse but the story was clichéd rubbish. The acting was good and most of the script too. The story though? Nope.
@Carl-G People bought it mainly as they are sheep and saw the adverts where they have quotes from rags like The S*n saying it's beautiful. Do you really think causal gamers come on here, IGN, CVG, etc? They trust morons like that lying paper, FHM, Nuts and stuff like that. In other words the sheep you claim didn't buy it are mainly the ones who did. Some, like myself, will have bought it to try it ourselves before judgment as you should do. But don't kid yourself that it's been some conspiracy that The Order has got a kicking and this is a massive one over.
I read tons of reviews on this game before i had finally picked up my collectors edition...another game in which i disagree with the majority of critics. Superb story, excellent voice work, solid gameplay mechanics and correct use of GTEs. Those GTEs where used to keep you engaged throughout the entirety of the game and it does a really good job at that. Its quite depressing to see a game this good get so misunderstood. 10/10 for me
There is one positive thing this game has done which I think we should all recognize it for: It has shown us that the interenet isn't just a complete toilet full of negativity where people like to sh*t on everything. I mean really, all the user comments I've seen on the game on each story have been overwhelmingly positive and supportive of the game. Go internet!
OTOH I do believe that it is probably a beautiful movie and a terrible game (MGS 2 anyone?), but I'm really happy that the community has been so positive.

I started playing on Saturday still haven't finished it since I was pretty busy but I am really enjoying it! I love the combat so far. It feels really satisfying to snap out of cover and pop off a head shot and back into cover again. Had to turn off auto aim immediately and put the game on hard.. wish there was a very hard setting though as its still not much of a challenge. But this game for me is just like getting to play a cool movie. Really enjoying the story so far.
I have to say that this game is better than reviewers have been making it out to be. However, it definitely isn't a masterpiece. Why don't they let you explore the world? And why do they take awesome guns away from you? To me, once you get a gun (like that awesome thermite gun) then you should be able to keep it in your inventory for the rest of the game. (Though I know in real life that's technically impossible, but this is a video game!)
The scores for this are bad, but there's so many users saying its actually not bad that I kinda wanna rent/buy it to find out for myself.... I mean, hopefully the developer learned some very valuable lessons from the reviews and will take that criticism into account when creating a sequel and make it much better than the first as a result. (ex: no quick time bull crap, more action, less cinematic, better stealth mechanics, longer campaign & multiplayer, improved mechanics all-around, etc.) But still, I don't think I wanna pay full price for this. Anyone think this will be heavily discounted in a sale later on this year?
Yawn, why is everyone still banging on about how great the story is? It could have been dreamt up by a 5 year old and sent off to a screenwriter.
Word of mouth over the weekend was pretty positive, I've never seen a PS4 game get more images shared on Twitter then this since launch day. Turns out that's what happens when people actually play the game instead of listening to agenda riddled sites, who knew?
Yeah.... I'll rent it
Got the game yesterday and dam it was hard to find as most places sold out, so it isn't no surprise to see it at the top.
I don't think reviews matter to many people, same goes with movies, so the same will go for games.
I think it'll hit the top spot for its release week and quickly drop off afterwards.
They need longevity in order to make a good impact, not just a week1 sales rush. Personally, I'll wait a few months for a heavy discount, Bloodborne is only a month away after all.
Platinumed it last night. Loved the story, it was very much what I was hoping for. Could have been longer but I can live with it as is. Definitely the best Victorian acting in gaming! Bring on dat sequel! !
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi .... You sir are wrong... Its a good story.. Opinions..
@Sanquine @AhabSpampurse but where is the character building, how are we supposed to care what happens, so much is unexplained and or makes no sense. Glad you enjoyed it, I enjoyed it in parts but it was ultimately a kind of let down but also kinda what I expected really.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi. I think RAD needs to take a page from naugthy dogs?! I agree on character development isnt superb. Maybe i gave them some slack because its their first console game.
@Sanquine personally I'd give it a 7, it maybe should have just turned I to an episodic game, more character dev and perhaps explore and tie up the plot over 2 or 3 episodes. I dunno, I don't regret playing the game but it could have been much more. Potentially a great game in the future but I guess a sequel now depends on sales.
Well deserving, reviews tempered my hype, and then when I decided to try it myself to decide, it exceeded my initial hype. It was so good, that my sibling walked in on me playing and thought I was watching a Victorian era movie; even asked me if the movie was available on Netflix. I eventually told her it was a game.
That's because it's actually great, funny how reviewers hard it yet actual normal gamers online love it
@JesWood13 so you want the same old game you've been playing for the past 5+ years?
Because that's pretty much what you described with stuff like cod, Battlefield, gears etc.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi you have no idea what character development is do you?
@viciousarcanum Huh? Lol, I said absolutely nothing about those games at all. I'm not paying $60 for a game I'm going to play through one time, and there be little to no reason to run through it again. Sounds like someone loves to jump to conclusions. Anyway, I suggested some stuff they should change in a sequel, that's it. I never said a word about other games.
@viciousarcanum rhetorical I presume. So Grayson or Sir Galahad is a knight, there are small indications he and Lady Igraine had a romantic past, he as a mentor, Percival. And that is everything. OK so this sums up the lead. Fantastic. Aiden Pearce had more appeal.
I'm looking forward to playing this. People keep going on about how long it takes to complete, but as with any game, it's down to how you play. You can play through any COD or BF in a day. I like to play my games for short periods at a time. I've had the evil within for ages now and still playing it. There's No need to play a game all the way through in one sitting. Enjoy it. Make it last.
I am glad to have the will power to not buy this right now. I am going to wait for a cheap copy on ebay.
@get2sammyb its way too short for my tastes but I might pick it up used for $20 or so down the road.
Hope it gets a sequel, cause by christ i enjoyed this game. Gunplay is great, CTEs dont happen near as much as youre led to believe, characters/world/story are great.
Coulda developed them a bit more yeah, but a sequel, if it happens, would expand on them more. Took me 9 hours to finish, which isnt short in my books for a linear tps shooter.
ewwwww
Just finished, need to do some platinum clean up, but absolutely loved it. Fantastic story, and have no problems with the 80 us I dropped on the order 1886 for the collector's edition. Can't wait to see where Gray's story goes in the next game!
I'm still waiting in amazon to deliver my game. Almost 4 days late.
I'm glad it's selling well despite the haters
Being #1 in sales for the week means squat. Like Hollywood movies, big releases rarely come out during the same week so this news isn't really news.
I really hope the game is actually good. It's my kind of game & I love story-based games. I don't really care how long it is as long as it's fun.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi Tbh I partially agree with you, I just wanted to take advantage of the situation and quote The Big Lebowski.
@AhabSpampurse how did I not notice that quote, anyone who doesn't love that movie is just wrong
@get2sammyb my local gaming forum already flooded with people selling off their copy after beating the game... This game sales & price gonna go down really fast I'm afraid...
