Was expecting as much.
Last time I counted I had over 80 musou games and that was quite while ago.
This one looked off from the start and sounded worse and worse the more news we got.
I really hope they go back to the previous gen and work upwards from there.
The series sure could use some new ideas and needs to evolve a bit, but this clearly was the wrong way to go about it.

Ah that's good to know.
But I've been buying every single Neo Geo game that they release on Switch and have just bought the Hori arcade stick for it as well, so I'll continue there as my main arcade platform.
All those Psikyo ports and other arcade games help as well.

Finally some recognition for Nuclear Throne.
Although every since one of those games is a gem.

Really wanted to pick this up at launch but I'm already drowning in games as it is, not to mention the big one coming out on Friday and one in December.
So I'm gonna have to put this on my "to buy" list instead.

Damn, forgot about Skullgirls... That's what I get for ordering it from LRG and having to wait over a year to actually, well still be waiting on it... lol
Also strange how KOF 98 and Waku Waku 7 aren't on PS4, yet they are on Switch. Brilliant games as well, although they are polar opposites.

Why even release a game when it has this many issues?
Delay if for a couple of months and put out a much better product ffs.
I know the reason always comes down to "publisher X wants developers to hit date Y" but it's getting damn annoying.

For games that have received a pro patch, boost mode doesn't do anything anymore, even when set to 1080p.
It only works for games that never got updated with a pro patch.

Tough luck. They don't own that particular genre of games, nor do they have the right to attack others that move in on this genre.
Looks like they are worried that someone might upstage them.

Just make sure to create the superior game and leave the rest to the market to decide.
Making public comments like that just makes you come of as whiny brats.

I've been moving away from AAA games myself for the past 2 years and these kinds of moves by big publishers make that process go much much faster.
I'm very selective in the multiplayer games I play and I've burned out on the overhyped "next big thing" kinda games that get shovelled aside ones another hits.

Japanese video games have been my bread and butter for over 38 years now, so yeah, you could say I'm excited about TGS.

There's nothing that stands out in this game at all.
Just a run of the mill cobbled together mp FPS that has been done to death by nearly everyone, and in most cases done better to begin with.

Looks generic as hell.
Who thought it was a good idea to create a by the numbers MP FPS game that "borrows" tons of elements from a bunch of other games that do those things way better?
This one has flop written all over it.

Yep, same here. If Splatoon didn't come out today I might have given it a go, but I don't have time for Destiny right now. Nor the urge to play it, even though I loved the first one for a couple of months.

I haven't played Persona 5 yet as I'm too busy with other games.
So my vote goes to Dangun Feveron.

That's one of the problems with the industry today. Whenever a new trend emerges the big publishers jump on it and all of a sudden everything needs to be just that.
It's no surprise that EA, Activision and Ubisoft are the ones that are mentioned here as they are the ones who tend to take the least risk and produce games mostly in a "by the numbers" philosophy. Which is great for squeezing every last dime out of an overdone genre, but in the end just gets repetitive and stale.

Sure, it'll attract a core number of consumers as always because that's what it's been focus tested to do. But it's no wonder that more and more people are starting to look for something different and want to get off the hamster wheel.
So the publishers and developers who create games that stand on their own, do something different and buck the trend will always find a place into my collection.

Looks like it'll be Battle Garegga, Dangun Feveron and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

@dok5555555 nah, Vita systems are universally identical.
The only difference a Japanese system has from a western one is that O is used to confirm and X to cancel. This is the other way around for us here.

It would have been a day 1 purchase for me were it not for the Switch coming out 2 days later.
Been waiting 6 years for the next console Zelda and since bother games are big adventure games, I'm not going to be playing them alongside each other. Once I finish Zelda, I'll pick up Horizon for sure.

Combined with the quicker load times from the external HDD, this firmware beta has been a major success IMO.

Yamauchi reigned Nintendo with an iron fist, that's very clear to anyone even slightly familiar with the brand, but you can't argue with the results it brought them.
