What a mess both Xbox and PlayStation seem to have got themselves in on the first-party front…

Well, Haven are still there… I still think there’s a non-zero chance that Fairgames gets re-revealed as cross-platform game for launch.

I think sometimes games just speak directly to someone and (whether critically good or not), you’re only going to scratch that itch by playing it. I felt this way about Valkyrie Elysium!

If Atlus are taking requests, I’m happy for them to get another Metaphor out of the door before P6! But if they are showing anything with Xbox in the summer, it may well be P4R if it’s following the P3R path and going into Game Pass.

It just gets harder and harder to keep supporting them. In chasing elusive, money-print service games that aren’t forthcoming, it really does seem that perfect has become the enemy of good at PlayStation.

Silent Hill: Book of Memories. The SH2 remake has pulled me back into the series and I’m going through BoM for the first time - I’m quite enjoying it too!

I had a great time with this on PS VR2! If this is successful, I’d love it if means they could move on to do 11th Hour, too.

Presumably the third-party publishers themselves are also a part of this given that AC Unity is one of the identified titles - I assume they have a say in setting prices. I guess they don’t see a PR risk in it, which I find surprising.

I’d really like to have seen what VR experiences Bluepoint, Pixelopus, London Studio or Japan Studio could have made for the headset. Maybe even Neon Koi or Firewalk Studios!

Good! Bluepoint was yesterday’s reason not to choose PS in the future. Having SB2 available elsewhere is today’s reason.

If making games sustainably is the problem…maybe making games sustainably should be the solution - smaller ones, with less of a focus on pristine visuals.

I think this sentiment is driven by a feeling that the PS5 hasn’t been utilised to its fullest potential yet relative to the prices of the machines. I also think that’s strongly linked to perceptions about how Sony has itself utilised PS5 for first-party software, and possibly a frustration that not “enough” of those games have been released.

Seeing “first-person” wasn’t what I initially hoped for but that trailer is superb and I’m always willing to give any Silent Hill game a go. Indiana Jones turned out great and convinced me (despite my initial reservations on the perspective).

I cannot wait! And I’m in Japan for the launch, so buying myself a physical copy here to take home as a souvenir of my trip! Nioh and Nioh 2 were some of the very best games on PS4. Hoping for a patch that’ll make the most of the Pro in time.

It’s such a weird one. I have a Series X and while I had Game Pass I got a load of use out of it - and enjoyed many Xbox Studios games. But the price of GP is too high for me now and Xbox games are appearing elsewhere. I don’t really know what to use the X for anymore. One thing I’d like Sony to emulate, though, is Quick Resume - it is still very impressive in 2025.

Cronos is my shout. Sad to see it isn’t getting any love in end-of-year lists!

However you play it, easy or hard, just play it - it’s so, so good.

Such a great game! I enjoyed this so much.

At the outset, one of the drivers for releasing older PS Studios games on PCs must have been a hope that people who bought and loved those games would choose to buy a PS5 to play the sequels rather than pick them up on Steam… It’d be interesting to know if Sony’s sales goals for the sequels were lower than the originals.

GTA at fourth in Europe (in 2025!) is wild.

Could it be for a PS5 native version and a streaming version - linked to the PS Portal update?

Returnal is the best game on PS5 - can’t wait to see what Housemarque are cooking!

I’ll answer my own question - TPR is scheduled for 2028, so it’s got a way to go before trailers and bigger marketing efforts.

It’s a bit disappointing that there aren’t even video trailers for most of these on the PS Blog. Is it that they’re really early in development? I’d really like to see what The Perfect Run looks like.

For the sake of the people who have worked there for a few years now, I hope it’s good. And if it is coming together, I’d not be surprised if released across PS5, PC and Xbox simultaneously. That status alone could give it some impact! And why not - is anyone realistically going to buy a PS5 solely for this game if it is an exclusive?

It was relentlessly miserable and dour. I finished it because it played very well but I was glad when it was over. If a Part 3 ever emerges, I hope there’s some more optimism in it.

Looks like it’s being published by KT this time, and not SIE. Maybe it’ll be on Switch 2!
