Helldivers 2 Joins PS Plus Extra Today Ahead of Full August 2026 Reveal

Well bugger me! Guess I'll finally be giving this a fair shake!

I already own this, but the cool part, is now a whole lot more of my friends circle also have access to it!

Surprised it took so long, but should increased the player base significantly.

Inevitable, the surprise was they've held off this long before adding it. Did think they'd hold off for it to coincide with an extra large update, the update that is coming seems meaty.

Even the comments on this PS Blog article are about physical games! The PB0 article has lots of ‘disc’ comments on it.

The game should see a jump in numbers now please God.
I might jump on and help a few new players on the lower difficulties give them a mech suit to own haha maybe take some on a trip to the higher levels

I really hope it improves the player numbers. Personally I have a full squad of my friends and at lvl148 there isnt much to upgrade but on low days there were like 30k total players which was low. On the other side, my understanding was that the PC/consoles split was 75/25 so lets see.

Nice, didn't want to spend money on it as it was such an old game but I'll give it a twirl now. Cool.

The new warbond and a new variant of squid hit this morning. As rumored the new enemy faction is horror themed, with the two new monsters I’ve seen being inspired by RE and Silent Hill.

There are Pyramidheadesque giants who wear massive helmets and use big hammers and there are small, skinny but fast licker type enemies with blades for arms who run around on all fours.

Also there is some crazy weather going on the world that is the focus of the current major order including a storm that not only has lightening strikes but pockets of wind that literally rip apart any diver that gets caught in one.

I’m honestly surprised it took this long to be added to the service…I would have expected it sooner when the player numbers started to take a significant hit

Still not convinced to pay for Plus, but it seems if they add it, it was no longer being purchased that much. They usually add games pretty old, long after release, or the ones that sales are disappointing. Still, this may lead to more people joining the game, they will get it with subscription which is required to play multi anyway.
