Re: Hellblade 1 Finally Enhanced for PS5, Out Now with Free Upgrade

@naruball Duuuuuuude, I can't imagine playing this WITHOUT headphones. And yes, playing it in the dark at 12am with only a cup of cold milk to comfort you is the best way to experience the game.

Like I don't know what it is man, but this game really got under my skin. I've played scary games before, but hellblade is just a cut above the rest when it comes to raw immersion. It just nails that feeling of isolation and loneliness

One of my favourite games ever. It's a shame the sequel apparently isn't near the first one's level of quality, but I'll give it a shot sometime in the future.

The original game remains as one of my favourite horror experiences in recent years. Granted, I am a massive p*ssy so scaring me is very easy😂, but this game has some truly terrifying moments.

Honestly...this is very cool in my opinion😅.

I love reading scripts for movies because it increases my appreciation for the artform, and I'm sure I'll feel the same way with a video game script.

Speaking of...I've never read a video game script, so it'll be interesting to see how it differs from a movie or television script🤔.

Re: Best inFAMOUS Games

@get2sammyb The closest we'll get to a flash game😪.

Sucker Punch did a great job on expanding the neon power. Those combat arenas were fantastic and running into those neon clouds for an extra burst of speed never got old.

Re: Best inFAMOUS Games

@naruball I wouldn't say it was necessarily difficult, but it defo had some rough patches.

Like there would be instances where you're facing off like a million enemies and they all have pinpoint accuracy constantly making you suffer😂

Re: Best inFAMOUS Games

Second son is personally my favourite! Absolutely love Delsin's variety of powers with smoke being my favourite. Honestly, sucker punch did a great job at making every power feel distinct in this game.

Re: My Hero's Academia: All's Justice PS5 Goes All-In on the Anime's Final Season

homelesscretin

Very excited! I know arena fighters get a bad rep, but one's justice 2 is honest to God such a fantastic game that I'm glad it's getting a sequel.

On a side note, unrelated to the game I guess, but it's weird how this particular era of shonen jump is already over innit? JJK, Demon Slayer, My hero academia. I remember reading their first chapters and just like that all three have come to an end. Here I was thinking about what would replace Naruto and Bleach at the time, and now I'm thinking what the next big battle shonen will be after these three.

I feel old.😃

@Gelloh Personally, I don't see the issue with this. It wasn't maliciously "misleading" or anything.

I'd argue it serves it purpose, by making a certain scene even more impactful because you didn't see it coming(if it somehow wasn't spoiled for you after that insane leak 😂)

Re: Vive La Return of Castlevania: Nocturne, Season 2 Is Almost Here

homelesscretin

Absolutely adored Castlevania from Seasons 1 to 3.

Then season 4 happened.

It's so blatantly obvious that the original show had a premature ending. So many things that were set up in season 3 were simply glossed over in season 4 or resolved, but in a manner that was so incredibly rushed. The animation is absolutely stellar however. It's just a shame about the storytelling. Really left a bad taste in my mouth.

I'll watch nocturne one day, but not anytime soon.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 563

Just wrapped up Life Is Strange 2!

Despite some issues with the writing here and there this game really resonated with me, more so than the first one I think. I really appreciate that dontnod tried something completely different and fresh instead of doing...whatever the hell deck nine is doing 😂.

But I can't say I blame deck nine either. It's no secret that the life is strange fanbase is rabid and can only consider a life is strange game as a life is strange game if it ticks super specific boxes.

I really really enjoyed my time with this game. Definitely something I'll be thinking about for a while

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 562

Juuuuust got the platinum for Hotline Miami!😃

Initially I was playing Ni no kuni the past week or so, but man I f*****g hate the combat in that game😭. What makes it more annoying is that I love everything else about the game (generic as it may be) but I just for the life of me can't gel with the combat at all. So after 28 hrs I gave up and jumped on Hotline miami which was the best decision I ever made.

I'll try Ni No Kuni again in 15 years 🤣

Re: 'Final Chapter' of Star Wars Jedi Series Currently in Development

Just completed Fallen order like 3 days ago!

Ultimately a solid if a little unremarkable video game. A 7.5/10 if you will. Just gonna spit some disorganised thoughts if you don't mind
🥱

Story was kinda meh. It definitely takes a while to pick up again. And once it does, you've got an okay ish tale that's carried heavily by its characters. Second sister, Cal, Cere. Especially second sister. Such a fantastic performance. But like I said, it takes a long ass time for the story to pick up again.

Combat was fun but man was it infuriating at first. Don't know if anybody else felt this but the Combat feels so sticky at times. Like I've pressed square, realised I've f****d up and quickly tap L1 to cancel into a Parry...except Cal doesn't Parry. So I have to eat an attack knowing full well that if this was any other videogame that attack would have been parried. And don't get me started on the force bar. Ugh. So many cool force abilities that you barely end up using or string together because the bar depletes so rapidly when you've used just one move😂.

And then the exploration. Was a little baffled by this one if I'll be honest. Best part about any metroidvania is coming back to a previous area with the ability to access once inaccessible places. You're usually rewarded with cool things. IMO the stuff in jedi fallen order is anything but cool. Ponchos. Lightsaber colours. Boring lore. It just isn't very interesting and I felt like I wasn't being rewarded.for exploring if that makes sense.

But despite all the issues with this game, it made me feel like a little kid again😂. Star wars was a franchise that was so near and dear to my heart. And then TLJ happened. The series expanded with like 7 million mediocre TV shows. And I just kinda fell out of love if I'll be honest.

But after playing fallen order? I'm kinda itching rewatch ot, pt and maybe even finally finish the st. Heard Andor's banging so I might just check that out too. Ultimately Jedi fallen order rekindled my love for Star Wars again, so thanks Respawn.

Gonna have breakfast now 🥱
