Re: GTA 6 Needs to Exceed Players' Expectations, Rockstar Admits

Fair enough I appreciate your opinion. Personally I don't really find offence in anything and happy to laugh at myself and others in equal measures. How about the option to be able to self censor at the menu to taylor the game to your needs allowing others to have the experience they choose. I can't think of any direct examples but No More Russians in MW2 allowed people to bypass the things they felt weren't appropriate for themselves.

I get where you're coming from. But PlayStation has games for everyone, but not every game is for everyone.
I honestly think as a crime simulator of sorts. It should not have to hold back on anything. There should not be censorship to please anyone just remain legally compliant for its country of release. The whole GTA series is born out of controversy. Let us be adults and buy what we want. If I don't like something I don't buy it.
Or maybe a compromise would be to have some sort of filter for self censorship

Re: Poll: Will You Buy The Last of Us: Part I?

I'll pick it up very cheap or on plus some time down the line. No rush played through a few times. It's not what I wanted from Naughty Dog TBH. But I get why they did it. It's got to be better than laying off staff between games. Better they are working productively. I'm sure it's releasing on PC to help cover costs. I think it's nice they're thinking of the workers. Let's hope they get straight on the new game after. Great way to keep continuity and talent in the workforce.

Re: Best Arcade Games on PS5

I'm old enough to remember when people said best arcade games. They were exactly that. Outrun, afterburner, ridge Racer, time crisis, street fighter. Operation Wolf, etc.
I can imagine Dirt 5 in a great arcade cabinet.

Re: Nintendo Switch Has Now Outsold PS4 in USA

I've only ever owned a Nintendo Wii before, which I bought 1 Christmas for my daughter. But strangely now I'm thinking of getting a switch as I'm in hotels a couple of nights a week with work and it might be a good distraction from being in bars and pubs. Funny to think gaming might improve my health.

Yes loved it on the master system. Shooting the magazine's on the floor to top up ammo was a great mechanic.That and shooting the knives away and seeing them deflect into the background. I went to a retro arcade bar a few weeks back while away with work and got to play Operation Wolf on an original arcade machine it was in surprisingly good condition and still great fun.

Did push square years ago and I mean years ago post an article that Sony had patented a process to retrospectively add trophy support to old games. It seemed pretty pointless at the time. Seems really useful now.

Must have been about 2013

Have a great time. I went to York last summer whilst on holiday. Had so much fun drinking there. All 9 of us get so drunk even my youngest daughter who was 16 at the time had no problems getting served. Went to a brilliant old pub near the yorkvic center which served some great local brews. I probably missed a bit of culture but we all had great fun. The kids were perfect age to drink with, 16,19,19,21,23. Think it was the punch bowl we had a lot of fun at.

Re: Talking Point: What PS1, PS2, and PSP Games Do You Want on PS Plus Premium?

gingerfrog

I'd take Taito legends for some new Zealand story and rainbow island. But for me the only old games I like are classic 16bit shoot um ups. I think I'm alone here when I say I only want to try new experiences on my ps5 not interested in going back other than the previously mentioned. But great for those that do. Maybe it's my age but during the ps1 and 2 era the only retro I want is a rave and a couple of doves

I was born in the mid 70's. I know it's like I've got mates that haven't got round to seeing starwars. Think I was always distracted at launch. Then once it's on the back burner there is always something new to play. Just happened to be at £9 when I'd finished a game, and I don't really have a backlog. This gen I'm trying to buy to play

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 419

I'm part to blame if GTAV is in the download charts for last week. £9 couldn't argue. Its my first GTA game and I'm loving it, such a fun open world to get lost in. The story is keeping me engaged and Trevor has some great one liners. I'll definitely be getting no.6 when it does eventually come assuming it's not infected by the vocal woke brigade.i wouldn't want the satire being turned down it's great as it is.

Re: Poll: We Want You to Rate Your Favourite PS5 Games

gingerfrog

Going to be controversial here. The best game I've played on my ps5 is the last of us 2. First time I played it and I waited for the ps5 patch. The game I've been most disappointed with was Spider-Man. Not sure if it was hyped to much for me, I loved the main missions but the busy work on the map sucked my will to live at times

You to bud. The uncharted update at 60 FPS made a big difference for me, added to the fact I imported my old trophies and therefore didn't worry about any treasure hunting and the like. Then just concentrated on the game and puzzles really improved the flow for me. Definitely more immersion that way than the way I previously played it.

No mate. Had a launch day PS1 and every console since even the vita. I'd got the upgrade of the uncharted and not played since it came out and had a blast. As for Spider-Man I'd been putting it off for a while due to friends feedback. Got to admit I didn't really enjoy it far to much busy work for my liking. Probably the least I've enjoyed a ps exclusive in a long while if not at all. I still have Miles Morales to play but that's going on the back burner for a while now. Understand I'm in the minority with that opinion but doubt I'll be buying the sequel.

@oconnoclast
Great comment. I've never insulted anyone more than my mates and never been insulted more by anyone than my friends. I don't want to play in a world of introverts and people lacking charisma who struggle with social interaction. The plenty of variety of games for them anyway. They need to stop making homogeneous games

Re: Battlefield 2042's Refreshed PS5, PS4 Scoreboard Now Coming in March

gingerfrog

@Constable_What
Honestly I believe the reason the scored board was not in was a conscious decision because someone in management deemed it may upset snowflakes and it causes people to troll each other. Little Timmy might not be able to handle his position.
I'm old but the world is crazy to me. Nearly all my friends online were once people I met and we through insults at each other and kept trying to out do each other. 10 or so years later we still have so much fun together and we're still so cutting with each other.
Our group will hardly ever grow now as we are always in private parties so we don't offend the eternally offended brigade.

Re: Poll: What's the Best Uncharted Game?

@willi3su
Not even close for me uncharted 2 is head and shoulders above 4 I literally preferred everything from volume of enemies to the puzzles and story. 4 looked spectacular though and a great game so I get why people prefer it. Just third for me after 2 &3
