I still struggle with really enjoying Drive Club. It feels like the game keeps wanting to stop my fun - driving off the road slows me down, why have a penalty on top of that?
Although I would have hoped they did the same exercise of identifying the best possible aiming system before Uncharted 3 and that didn't turn out too well initially.
I only played it after the patch though, so what would I know, it was great.
@get2sammyb Hey - I'm wondering what the gore level is. I love a good frightfest, but horror that turns to excessive gore for its thrills turns me off. I heard it sometimes goes towards Saw type violence. Is this the case?
I would be interested in breakdown by region. I recently signed up for a US account and was surprised to see how poor I found the layout compared to the EU store.
problem is that whenever Sony gets that swagger it seems to stop looking where its putting its feet and its only a matter of time before it falls on its face.
On one hand I think thats fine- I don't really have any interest in AAA titles on handheld. I love my Vita and am still very satisfied with indies and especially PS+.
But on the other I would love to see some non indie trashy B grade games
For some reason I just could not get into Shovel Knight. Which is strange becasue its just the sort of thing I normally like, and its reviewed universally well as far as I know. Yet after a couple of sessions I just never went back.
I only ever preorder Nintendo games and that's only because I live in South Africa and the local distributor is so incredibly unreliable that I have sometimes been unable to get games only a couple of months after release.
@get2sammyb I'm in South Africa. I used to get a lot off Ebay UK, you just have to hunt for sellers willing to send to Africa.
But then a lot of my purchases started going missing in the post. And registered delivery is usually a lot more expensive than the game itself. It sucks, but it stopped being worth it.
Yeah - Rad Gravity blew me away! It had so many new ideas in each area. It really changed the way I thought about gaming, since up til then I'd only really played games with a very obvious level progression. I got lost for ages going from planet to planet trying to figure out what I could do next.
This is absolutely brilliant. As someone who only ever has short bursts to play games anymore, I seem to mainly play on my Vita, and sometimes 3DS because of this feature.
every review I have read comments on the 'weird' distribution mode. Why is it so weird? And for "no reason at all"? Although not common, episodic distribution is now fairly widely accepted. Perhaps not in the 3rd person shooter genre, but it was only a matter of time.
I allows players to try for a low price, without entering into the widely despised Free to play model. Capcom should be congratulated for this. Its very player friendly.
It also has the benefit of keeping the game in the news, fantastic marketing for Capcom.
And at the end you can just buy the 'DVD release' if you like it physical.
I really think this is the best distribution model I've yet seen.
This is looking pretty good. Not sure if I'm quite ready for more JRPG tho, having just finished Xenoblade (92 freaking hours!) and being half way through Last Story. Both are so great, so I'm a bit JRPGed out.
"When Move was released for the PS3, it offered an experience similar to the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, but ultimately with superior and more accurate technology."
I think its funny how statements like this are still made, cleverly leaving out any mention of Motion +.
two things I really hate about Move: no IR pointer, which I find more accurate, and straightforward for navigation and light gun games and that horrid glowing ball that reflects in my TV. yuck.
I always find myself at odds with David Cage. I always get the impression that he spends a great deal of time considering how to make his material appear like its dealing with "mature content". In other words it feels to me like his creative process is very caught up in appearances, rather than actual originality or content.
I have a lot of excuses for not buying a Vita, especially price and the memory card situation, but really I think I'm not buying one because the device is aimed at console-like experience on the go. I still have a huge list of console games I need to get, from Uncharted 3 to Donkey Kong Country Returns. What I love about my 3DS is the exact opposite approach. Quirky, interesting games.
Lol at marketing script. How many touch screens? Oh wow, amazing. And new. And I was distracted when you meantioned the amazing, new OLED screen, I forgot how many incredible amazing sticks it has. 2? That's new and amazing. And incredible.
I sort of see your point James, but for me the Sonic 2 special stages are pretty different to how that's been done in later 3d sonic games. Mainly I suppose the lack of platforming, dead stops and death drops. They were so straight forward and trippy.
It amazes me that Sega took so long to go back to the Sonic 2 special stages. They were ground breaking at the time, and are still fun to play. Sonic 2 remains the high point of Sonic for me largely because of these stages. The only gaming experience I've found that captures that mad fun was the special stages in Rayman 3.
@Mr Reese. Sonic 4 Episode 1 played nothing like the first 3 Sonics. That was the biggest problem with the game. release d-pad to stop dead is just wrong in a game based on momentum. Generations old Sonic nailed it tho.

I love my PS4, but for me the best games by a long way are on Wii U.
Re: Review: Super Time Force Ultra (PS4)

Unparalleled perhaps, but arguably exceeded by Nintendo on a regular basis.

Re: Feature: Our Most Anticipated PlayStation Games of Holiday 2015
Man I feel at odds with mainstream gaming this gen. Only thing here that I might get it Transformers.

Re: Star Wars Director J.J. Abrams Apparently Thinks Uncharted 2's Opening Is the 'Best Ever'
So weird how people like that. I was so bored during that intro. It was so slow, and its not like there was any real tension.

I'm off to start working on my Free copy of the next DMC. This should get interesting.
Re: Review: Tour de France 2015 (PS4)

Re: E3 2015: Metal Gear Solid V's Incredible 40 Minute PS4 Gameplay Demo Is an Absolute Must-See
Somehow I missed chatter around mistranslations until now. How horrific. My interest is greatly reduced.
So if I may not have as much time as other players (I don't!) I have to pay more to get through faster. Screw that.

Re: Guide: How to Enable 60 Frames-Per-Second PS4 Remote Play
So why would you not want to enable this?
Would it be less smooth than 30fps if your connection can't keep up?

Re: Reaction: Uncharted 4's Delay Is a Blow, But Everything Will Be Alright
I played Uncharted 3 after various patches fixed everything. I thought it was far and away the best of the 3 games.

Re: Developer Nnooo Approved for Vita
What with the memory card situation being what it is, I don't feel that the Vita is focussed on digital downloads at all. At least not at launch.

Re: Japanese Sales Charts: Gravity Rush Unable to Stop Dwindling Vita Sales
I love that Pushsquare is a Sony focused site where its OK to love Nintendo.
I'm thrilled that the 3DS is doing so well. I glad that the dooooomed stage is over for 3DS and we can all just be excited for the games.
I'm also really looking forward to when the Vita finds its feet and gets its chance at the top of the charts.
