Remember when Black Myth: Wukong came out of nowhere around this time last year, and people went gaga for it? Well we're already seeing a similar reaction to Faith of Danschant: Hereafter — another Chinese-developed action RPG. Much like Black Myth, this looks like a next-gen project, although it is a little rough around the edges in the debut gameplay trailer embedded above.
Still, there's so much potential here. In the main character's agility and combat style, there are some really interesting ideas at play. The boss battle at the end of the video is a real spectacle, too.
Faith of Danschant is currently in development for PC and "consoles", but at least the fact that it has an English dub strongly suggests that'll be released here in the West... Eventually.

Combat needs a bit more "oomph" when hitting enemies but regardless, this is really promising. Reminds me of Xuan Yuan Sword 7 but slightly more polished haha. Wonder if Sony Asia will pick this and possibly Black Myth for their China Hero program?
Definitely looks better than the majority of games that look similar from Bandai Namco.
It doesn't look as good as Black Myth, but it definitely has potential. Hope it comes to the west.
Lol, that ***** kid's voice.
Looks fine. The bamboo traversal is neat.
How windy is this world? Their hair won't stop moving.
it looks great.
lots of love went into this game for sure.
the defensive kick away is definitely cool.
the combat is meh.... the girls voice acting man... that needs a re-do imo.
the more i watched this the more i was interested for sure, but wukong is definitely the better choice here.
interested to see what comes of this.
The voice acting is very Shenmue like lol
Sorry I don't support games that are made in Communist China.
Like the style.
The animations are SUPER rough, don't even compare this to the Wukong game x)
But this game has style and it's kinda pretty, it has potential!
Nice. Liked Gujian 3 and Xuan-Yuan Sword VII. So definitely keep an eye on this.
@LaytonPuzzle27 Unless the CCP are developing it themselves, I think you'll be fine
With the CCP going to war with tencent and the crackdown on games as "digital opium" there's no guarantees on any game coming out of China
There's something about these Chinese games. Many of them look similar to me. Sure the graphics are nice, but then you have hits with no impact, jank animations, etc. Of course there are exceptions like that wukong game and FIST but still. I do like how you can traverse on the bamboo and also how he sliced the bamboo and kicked it into the monsters chest
Looks pretty cool
