@Tr3mm0r Would you be continuously working on the plans for said doghouse? If so, that would be an adequate comparison. Either way, I'm not really sure what your argument is at this point. I acknowledged in my first comment to you that you were probably correct about when full development began. But the other guy and I weren't talking about full development, just the development cycle as a whole. Which took at least 9 or 10 years as far as anyone can tell.
@Tr3mm0r I mean, yeah. I highly doubt any studio would approve the release of a teaser trailer if they hadn't had meetings, made decisions, or written some script or story beats. How else would the 3rd party know what to put in the image or video? I'd call that part of the early development stages.
@Tr3mm0r The first teaser trailer for Cyberpunk released over 10 years ago. Surely it was in development before they took the time to make the teaser, right? If so, that was 8 years before release. Maybe not "full" development, but there are multiple stages to developing games. I'm sure it didn't kick into full development until 2016, like you said.
@Bunchesopuppies Now that they've confirmed the 2nd game will be stretched over multiple seasons, I'm sure the "Joel moment" will be a finale climax. Maybe not but we'll see. Either way, they'll at least draw him out over the series with flashbacks like they did with the game.
@Bunchesopuppies Well, I've got good news for you. They've already handled the time skip by pre-aging Bella before filming season 2. If you google her age it will now show that she is 19, instead of the previous 14, just in time for filming to begin.
@thefourfoldroot Yeah. And the more I see the replys, the more I realize that I'm the only one that views challenges and trophies as separate things. The original comment mentioned trophies as a deciding factor for making a purchase. I understand if people want challenges, because I do too. I was just focused on the word "trophy".
@Apfelschteiner 30 vs 60 frames actually affects gameplay so not a good comparison. But I'm just saying the act of collecting digital trophies should have no influence on whether or not someone buys a game or enjoys a game. And it certainly shouldn't add ten bucks to a games value. But I guess that's all subjective.
@Snake_V5 Yeah the challenges can do that. I'm just saying the idea that trophies mean something and can sway someone toward or away from buying a game is ridiculous.
@thefourfoldroot Challenges are fine, there's plenty of those in-game and that's the main driving point for most games. I'm specifically talking about trophies, not what you have to do to get them. I admit I go out of my way to complete those challenges, but only if I enjoy the game and want more out of it. But I certainly don't do it to collect trophies because I know they are meaningless.
@Apfelschteiner What? Trophies are nothing. They do nothing and they mean nothing. In what way can they influence the decision to play or not play a game?
@lolwhatno Oh yeah, I'm sure you're right about that. I've still never seen a PS5 in person and have no intention on playing anything new on my PS4 pro. I'll just keep chipping away at my backlog until the 5 is available to me. And I agree it does sound a little messed up, but there's nothing wrong with wanting to segregate your blues, whites, or greens..
@BoldAndBrash So you played these games and the description that came to mind was "stiff animations"? What a bold thing to say. And to say it in such a brash way, the nerve of some people..
@munstre Have you at least made it through the first tunnel to the second part of the map? That's where my love for the game really began to blossom. Then there's the third and fourth part. It's massive. I loved the fourth part of the world as well.
@Grimwood You're right. It's worded in a way that implies ownership, makes people click and read. But it's just a horror game releasing after the PS5 came out. We all know the first true PS5 exclusive horror game will be Knack 3
As someone who has never played a Mass Effect game, I vow to give these games a fair shake. I can only hope that they will indeed be legen... wait for it... ditious.
@TheFrenchiestFry why would you expect it to be as long as the full spiderman game? They openly said from the beginning that it wouldn't be, hence the cheaper price.
@710King To my knowledge, they do. As long as you have it set to stay connected to the internet when it goes to rest mode. You can look at the upload list on your ps4.
@Athrum You're right about Kena, I'm looking forward to hearing more about that one more than any other recently announced game. And I'd have to agree with you about the hype for Bugsnax feeling a bit artificial. Personally, I'm interested in it but I wouldn't call it hype. There's just something about it that makes me feel like there's more than meets the eye. It started with the hand drawn map in the trailer. But maybe I'm looking too much into it.
I have to admit, after seeing the gameplay I'm actually interested in seeing what this turns out to be like. If reviews say it's fun I'd be happy to give it a try. Now if only we could get a Kena blowout..
@AhmadSumadi Unless I'm mistaken, they've already said ESO won't be affected by this. It'll still be playable on Playstation since it's already an established game on the platform.
@zupertramp haha touche, I was wondering if my comment would lead down that rabbit hole. But I agree, it shouldn't have gone there on and article that wasn't even related to story or gameplay. I wasn't defending anyone, it just disappoints me how often people choose not to take the high road.
@SirAngry You want a picture of a guy stepping on the heads of uglier guys? I could see that being interesting, almost like an allegorical type of thing.
@LiamCroft Imagine moaning about someone moaning about something more than 3 months old. At least tag the guy so he can respond to your snide, unprofessional comment.
@grahamd There haven't been "recent rumblings of max 15 hour games". That was a quote from the guy that was the CEO until he stepped down last year. He made that statement recently saying what he hoped to see more games like that in the future, but he doesn't even work for Sony anymore so have no fear. Big games, small games, and everything in between are here to stay.
Good news is J.K. spoke her fact-based opinion and that's it. People can choose to agree or disagree. If what she said was "transphobic" then that word means nothing because there was nothing hateful or fearful about it.

@Tr3mm0r I suppose we just disagree then. In my mind, planning and pre-production are part of overall development.
