Even with the positive press Knack 2 went from a 'no way in hell' to maybe I'll pick it up on sale down the road...when its $15. First one was just too meh.
Oh nice, I started getting emails one morning about backing a game called Battlechaser that I presumed I pledged to while drunk (bad breakup). Pleasant surprise this morning!
@ShogunRok @get2sammyb Actually was just discussing this article with a friend of mine, and you're right in one sense its about chasing the cash of Overwatch etc, but how many companies tried to make a MMO to piggyback on WoW's success and how many of those actually made any money. Perhaps I'm old and out of touch, but most of the comments I read so far seem to agree with me.
I follow gaming news pretty closely; visit multiple gaming sites a day watch all the conferences...I don't recall ever hearing of this game. So it was either not marketed well or instantly forgettable.
Yea look at all the crappy performing single player games that came out in the past year like LoZ:BotW, Horizon, Persona 5, NieR, FFXV, and those are just the ones off the top of my head that I personally played. Believe they all sold well to boot.
I've dodged a financial bullet the past couple sales but then this one popped up and had half my wishlist on it! Definitely will be getting Salt and Sanctuary as well as The Witness; trying to exercise some self control on the others.
My only gripe on PSN sales is that they never (or at least I never noticed) discounts on DLC.
Honestly, I've grown tired of Telltale. They've taken on too much, it takes forever for all the episodes of a season to come out. I had gotten to the point where I would just wait for them all to be released and get it cheap, but now waiting between seasons is getting ridiculous. TWAU was by far my favorite TT game so far, but that was what nearly 3 years ago now? Done with this company.
After getting a taste of Hitman with Episode 1 being free this week; I'm hoping for the rest. But realistically, I go with some others in saying Hyper Light Drifter and throw in Salt and Sanctuary as its been in my Wish List for a while now.
I know I don't speak for anyone other than myself, they showed off a lot of beautiful games but nothing really for me. For a second I was thinking Monster Hunter was a new From game and was really excited. It still looked beautiful and I'll keep an eye on it but overall I was disappointed.
So far I think the E3 has been lackluster, so really all they need to do is explore the titles we know are coming GoW, TLOU2 and throw in a surprise or two (Bloodborne 2 please!!!) and they have another year in the bag. Xbox exclusives underwhelmed, like @Brasilkilla said, when your biggest applause if for supporting games from 2 generations ago, you did not have a great lineup to show.
Nope definitely not! Too many games get launched as Early Access and... thats it. Sure maybe incremental updates, but too many games languish for years without much improvement.
I don't mind the name change, but I was about to dismiss it as a knock off. Knowing it's hot shots has me excited again! This may confuse long time fans.
Lol! After beating the game in mid-January; last week I finally decided to dedicate the time to get plat by grinding out fishing levels and defeating the Adamantoise (2 hours). Just my luck!
My favorite part of Dark Souls/Bloodborne was teaming up with my buddy who moved cross country. It was sometimes a pain having to hide signs, but the ring helped, and the BB password system was a godsend. This method of co-op and the fact one of us would have to play ahead kind of kills that for me; oh well.
On the one hand I love it. Its as memorable and original as ICO and SotC. On the other hand the controls can be a frustrating mess and really took me out of the game (literally at some points as I needed to walk away); which in retrospect is also a lot like ICO and SotC and I still remember them fondly.
I've been a FF addict since FF2(US) and have played each non-MMO release religiously when it comes out. But honestly, I was not impressed by the demo (at least by the gameplay). I've seen some people say combat has been greatly improved but personally I'm in wait and see mode.
@JamieH I got the order on sale and for the discounted price I'd say it was worth it; however I don't think it will ever be a psplus game due to the nudity. Too many parents would complain about the dong scene.
Dishonored was one of my favorite games last gen, so really looking forward to getting back behind the mask, or do I want to play as Emily first... first decision has to be the hardest doesn't it?
Only technical glitch I have come across was that the aliens stopped moving/attacking on their turn. Took me 2 missions to figure it out thought I was a badass! So far absolutely loving the game, but if the loading screens got any longer I could take a nap between battles.
@JLPick nothing close to a FPS, its a turn-based strategy with a 3rd person overhead view.
The game has crashed on me a few times when warping between stars. Actually my first crash was the first time i booted up the game, it just hung there playing the music; took me about 10 minutes before I realized its not supposed to happen.
@meppi Its not ideal, but its still better than back in the days of NES/SNES where if you got a broken game, it was just broken. At least now they can fix things.

One of the first things I do in any open world game, albeit SP or MMO is to explore every corner, particularly those I have no earthly place being. Two months is not going to diminish my excitement for a game that is pretty much just that.

Re: Game of the Month: Top 4 PlayStation Games of September 2017
I'm a huge sucker for Dishonored, so have to go with Death of the Outsider (although I'm only on Mission 3 - damnable work).

Re: Poll: Is Final Fantasy IX the Best Final Fantasy?
I'll list it in my top, being 4, 6 and 9. Obviously strong nostalgia for the sprite based versions and 9 being a call back to those.
Re: This Fugly PS4 Call of Duty Bundle Will Probably Be a Hit This Holiday
"That controller is straight up the colour of tortoise turd, by the way."
LMAO thank you for the early morning laugh (also as someone who previously owned box turtles this is completely true).
Re: Action RPG Code Vein Is Worth Keeping a Bloodied Eye On in New PS4 Gameplay
I'm a huge soulsborne fan, but have to say this, at the moment, isn't doing much for me.

Re: Feature: The Promising PS4 Games of July 2017
FFXII is one of the few FF games I started but never finished (damn college!) so looking forward to correcting that defect.
Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Most Anticipated Games for the Second Half of the Year?
Am I the only one who was upset that Ni No Kuni 2 did away with the monster capturing/battling part?

Re: Final Fantasy XII Looks Amazing for a Remastered PS2 Game on PS4
The only FF that I never finished (not counting the MMOs). Looking forward to correcting that defect this summer!

I loved it on the PSP and will definitely buy...a few months from now on sale.

Back at work, wishing I was home playing Persona! This after spending half my night dreaming about it because I played for nearly a day straight.

Re: Feature: 5 PS4 Firmware Updates Sony Needs to Add in 2017
I think what the PS4 really needs is a stability update.
Re: Poll: Who Is the Best Final Fantasy Protagonist?
I'll always have a soft spot for FFIV, so had to go with Cecil (although Kain was by far my favorite character).

Re: Review: Dishonored 2 (PS4)
Loving this game like I haven't loved a game in a LONG time. Currently on the final mission with my unseen/no kill streak in tact, wish me luck!
Re: PS4 Firmware Update 4.06 Improves the Quality of Your Console
Damn quality updates, I was hoping for some of that sweet sweet stability.
Re: Persona 5 Gets Delayed Until April on PS4, PS3
And here I've been staying single just so I can stay home and play it on Day 1 (or at least that's been my excuse).

Re: Poll: Will You Be Buying a PS4 Pro?
I may pick up a slim for my bedroom, but if I do it will be at the expense of cancelling my PSVR pre-order.
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with September's PlayStation Plus Games?
It's a good selection, my only gripe is I already own all of them. But for those who don't, enjoy!
Re: Review: One Way Trip (PS4)
I played Linger in Shadows, and even I think this is too weird for me.

Re: Talking Point: What July PlayStation Plus Free Games Do You Want?
Oh nice both my vita choices are part of this weekends Flash Sale. Nevermind me...
Re: Talking Point: What July PlayStation Plus Free Games Do You Want?
I'm a simple man, Civ Rev 2 or XCOM for the Vita would keep me happy. Maybe Day of the Tentacle on the PS4, help clear up my digital wishlist.
