I wish Sony would update their web pages at the same time. The PS+ content is always out of sync.
The Subscriptions page (https://store.playstation.com/en-gb/pages/subscriptions) shows August Monthly Games, with a LEGO Star Wars banner.
But the What's New page (https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/ps-plus/whats-new/#monthly-games) still shows the July games.... misleading given they are no longer available.
Lots of niggly issues like this. It bugs me that some titles that I've previously downloaded on PS+ can be purchased "to keep" but others cannot.
In a recent sale, Ghost of Tsushima was reduced but was only available to me at full price, again because I'd previously downloaded it. I contacted PS support who said there's nothing they can do whilst my subscription is active.
Having had PS+ from day one, I'm definitely going back to Essentials from next month. Personally, I'd rather have a Basic tier that only offers cloud storage and store discounts, and do away with the monthly games/catalogue.
@rusty82 Amazon UK have it listed at £59.99. Save yourself a fiver at Game Collection... £54.95 with another 10% off if you subscribe to their newsletter. You also gain bonus reward points for future purchases.
I genuinely like having both... often I'll buy physical then pick-up the digital version in a sale a year later. Or vice-versa. Ideally I'd like a physical collector's edition to include a digital code, but I realise most people would just resell it.
@Nepp67 Tbf they are action/adventure games, in which puzzles are often forced into just for pacing purposes. Maybe it's me but currently replaying the Uncharted series and the puzzles are tiresome... far more so than when playing for the first time. Sure, they have a place, but for me they're better left in games like Monkey Island (which I love).
I never understood why Sony allowed Singstar to die. Bearing in mind the wider group owns multiple record labels, the DLC was a license to print money and free advertising for their label's artists.
I know most gamers weren't interested, but lots of casual players bought PS2s and PS3s just to play Singstar.
An integrated Spotify subscription model would have been amazing.
Medal of Honor (1999 & 2010)
Need For Speed (1996 & 2015)
Need For Speed Most Wanted (2005 & 2012)
Star Wars Battlefront (2004 & 2015)
Star Wars Battlefront II (2005 & 2017)
I was looking forward to this, but the more I see the less I like. I'm definitely going to hold out for Tiebreaker instead and it's roster of 100+ licensed players.
I'm pretty sure I added Fallout 4 to my library as part of the PS+ Collection when the PS5 launched, and I've been able to down the PS5 update.
What bugs me is it takes high profile cases like this to get things resolved. There's an increasing number of people on PS+ Extra who are unable to play The Division 2. Sony blame Ubisoft, Unisoft blame Sony. I've been playing it for months, but suddenly despite still being part of the PS+ Extra Game Catalogue, I can't play, download or even purchase the game??!... (the game shows a PS+ icon with a small padlock in my Library and Installed games).
Not a huge fan of the timing bar and text feedback after every single shot... for me that definitely breaks part of the immersion. Hopefully they'll include HUD options.
No issue with this approach, especially for such a connected game. However, it would be nice to have an upfront commitment to an offline patch in years to come when servers are shut down.
GT Sport received this recently, but later this month The Crew will become permanently unplayable... I loved that game.
This will be a hard pill to swallow for the original Burnout creators over at Three Fields Entertainment, especially as any new Burnout game would overshadow their Wreckreation game... assuming it's being released in 2024.
Fair play to Harmonix for supporting it this long... giving away free anniversary DLC packs and enabling imports way back to the RB1 days. I have around 700 tracks in RB4, hopefully the final DLC is a good one!
UPDATE: I've just read the blog, which says Jan 25th will be the last drop... but that's not the only one. Today they've released the following and I imagine there will be more to come over the coming days.
Our Love Will Still Be There - The Troggs
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road - Elton John
Something very weird just happened for me, or maybe Sony have an odd way of resolving it. I bought a game on 29 Dec and received no points. Today I bought a £1.69 DLC and received 17 points over and over again. In the end I had 24 notofications in the PS App, and my points balance is now back up (or maybe higher) to what I was expecting.
Maybe it was a glitch, but for anyone missing points I'd recommend trying a small purchase to test it.
I was expecting a longer notice period, like Sony did with Driveclub. I missed yesterday's announcement, but are you seriously saying someone could have bought the game last week for £19.99 (or £44.99 for the Ultimate Edition) which will be unplayable in just over 3 months.
That can't be right, can it?
For what it's worth, I enjoyed The Crew more than the two sequels, so it's a shame they couldn't have developed a patch to allow the single-player mode to function offline.
Sorry, is it April 1st?... I quite like it but would never pay £150. One for the collectors I suppose. Speaking of tea, off to make my 4th cup of the day
I can just about accept a small banner on the main menu of say F1 22, offering an upgrade or discount for F1 23. But anything in-game?... no thanks, I'm out.
@JimbobLink No, I've only played the PS5 (disc) version. Both of my save files were 27MB, now 32MB after the latest patch... identical size and timestamp.
As for AC Unity, I have a similar problem with AC Syndicate. The digital version doesn't recognise my save data created with the disc version. A common issue in the PS3-era which is fairly uncommon these days.
Anyone else notice on PS5 the game creates two identical sets of save data?... Not a backup file like some games do, the game is listed twice. If you try to delete or upload one of them, both are automatically selected. Very odd, I was hoping the patch might fix that too.
@tameshiyaku I'd love to know that too. Potentially I could be the situation of wanting to swap the Blu-ray drive between two new PS5s.... assuming that's allowed with this DRM-type check or activation.
@Vega37 I'm genuinely amazed that through the entire article and comments section there's been no mention of Vigor. It's a great game that I lost countless hours to on PS4, and it's been patched to run at 60fps on PS5. Highly recommended!

Re: Tiebreak Aims to Topple TopSpin 2K25 with a Huge Licensed Roster on PS5, PS4
I did wonder why Wimbledon wasn't featured in any of the trailers.

It shouldn't be this difficult.
Re: Scorching Hot PS Store Summer Sale Gets More PS5, PS4 Deals
I highly recommend Tinykin for £4.99 (or £3.99 for PS+ members). It's currently in the Game Catalog but will no doubt be removed at some point.
Re: We Find This PS5 Wishlist Issue Irrationally Irksome
@Olmaz Same. The wishlist is good for upcoming games, but once they're released I remove them and track on PSprices.com instead.

Re: Astro Bot Adorns EDGE Magazine's 400th Issue, Paying Homage to 10 PlayStation Icons
Dammit, I bet if I subscribe now it will start with issue 401 😭... hard to find anywhere that stocks this now.
Re: FC 25 Reveal Is This Week, Jude Bellingham's on the Cover
What exactly is the point of these?... (the same applies to the Champions Edition of F1 games).
EA only release the standard editions at retail, so these 'covers' are entirely pointless marketing material.
I remember the days when they'd release club specific FIFA covers to download and print.
Re: Scores of Retro PS Plus Premium Titles Upgraded with Platinum Trophies on PS5, PS4
Good news?... yes. But "scores" of titles upgraded?... no.
1 score = 20, therefore scores would imply a minimum of 40.
Yeah, I had to be that guy lol
Re: Atomfall PS5, PS4's Apocalyptic UK Setting Will Be Familiar for All Those Unfortunate Enough to Live in Britain Today
This could be interesting.. and kudos for the sub-title.

Added to my wishlist. Maybe it's the art style but it's giving me Alba: A Wildlife Adventure vibes.

Fond memories of playing Eyelet with my kids too.
Re: Hunt: Showdown Ending Support on PS4, Will Be PS5 Only from August
Surprised this isn't a F2P title. How does it compare to Vigor?
Re: Yes, the Next Madden on PS5, PS4 Is Called Madden NFL 25 Again
EA are experts with this already...
Medal of Honor (1999 & 2010)
Need For Speed (1996 & 2015)
Need For Speed Most Wanted (2005 & 2012)
Star Wars Battlefront (2004 & 2015)
Star Wars Battlefront II (2005 & 2017)
Re: Star Wars Costumes Are Now Available in Fall Guys for a Limited Time
I find the lack of comments disturbing.
(or maybe just the general apathy towards this game these days!)

PixelJunk Monsters on PS4 or PS5. The original, Deluxe, Ultimate or Ultimate HD... I don't care. Just make it happen!
Re: EA Sports F1 24's First Raw Gameplay Looks Typically Solid on the Tarmac
Yeah this looks incredibly similar to F1 23. Their cause wasn't helped by a lack of driver changes (first time ever I believe).

Surprised we haven't seen more of this. Was expecting a native Rocket League at some point.

At least the licensed tournaments are well covered.

I wish more devs would update the home screen icon, to match the (usually much better) key art from the Library. Or even better, give us the choice.
Re: Valiant Hearts Comes Home to PS4 After Netflix Exclusivity
The first game was great. A shame this isnt getting a native PS5 release, but a PS4 version is better than not at all.

Good times. LBP1 was an absolute gem.
Re: Fresh PS Plus Extra Racing Game Will Be the 'Ultimate NFS Experience'
Not played it, but loved the old Criterion games, including NFS: Most Wanted 2012.
Can the bizarre graphical effects be switched off and does it feature the usual character-driven story nonsense?
Re: Resistance Retribution's PS5, PS4 Platinum Won't Take Too Much Effort

A quirky looking game that I've already saved to my wishlist. Price may be the deciding factor.
