@Toast-rider Haha i only tend to do it for the games i'm super hyped for, sometimes the wait is worth it, sometimes not lol
I did it for Arkham Knight and whilst overall the game was a bit of a disappointment for me, the addition of the extra villains from the DLC at least boosted it a bit.
I totally agree about Hobgoblin by the way, he tends to get overshadowed by Green Goblin but i always preferred him, in the 90's cartoon he always seemed more unpredictable and scary somehow lol
I'm in a real dilemma over this game, it's one of my most-wanted games of the year, i'm so hyped for it and want to play it day one but now that i know there's three story DLC's planned, my thinking is to wait until they're all out to play it as i like to play games in their complete form....the wait is going to kill me lol
@Tasuki No you didn't come across like that to me, i'm sorry if i sounded like i was on the attack, i also want to say that i've seen plenty of people deliberately bringing up Nintendo etc when they shouldn't so i'm in no way trying to say it's all one way.
I realise that with my profile pic i could be seen as a fanboy or whatever as well but i genuinely do own all three consoles and flip between them constantly, in fact i've used my PS4 more this year than any of my other consoles, i've been hooked on Bloodborne, Neon Chrome, Hob and Rime in particular, i just happened to find/join NL first and it was easier to just use the same profile when i found this site than start a new one up lol
This has actually tempted me to go and pick the first Rage up and give it another go, i remember finding it quite repetitive but the gunplay was good, i might wait just to see if this is a direct follow-up or more of a reboot, story-wise.
@Tasuki For the record i didn't make my comment to start a big argument, nor do i want to start one, i just think you should know how some people who use the site feel, i've seen others saying the same thing over on NL so i'm not alone, as a gamer who owns more than just Playstation products i find this site hostile at times, not something you would want your readers to feel surely ?
Edit Just seen your last comment, that's good to hear mate, i think some of your colleagues should follow your example lol
@themcnoisy Exactly, i come on here to read PS news so why is there even all these mentions of the other two ? You need to tell that to the people constantly bringing up Microsoft and Nintendo in negative ways on totally unrelated posts, look back over my comments and you'll see that i mainly do stay on topic on most threads, the weekly sales posts are the main exception, but that naturally is a broader topic.
I don't use Netflix or any online subscriptions so i miss out on a lot of the newer anime shows, i wish they were shown on Sky, i've heard lots of great feedback on this one.
@Tasuki I'm only commenting on what i have seen, the MS/Nintendo bashing is on many threads, often totally unrelated to the articles they are posted on, i haven't once seen anyone pulled up on them being 'off topic', whereas people defending MS/Nintendo (mainly the latter) have often been told to keep on topic.
@ShogunRok I don't think it's right that you only warn certain people, members like playstation1995 and PS_Nation often make inflammatory and troll comments aimed to stir trouble, yet the mods on here let them get away with it, as soon as they get what they want and get the backs up of Nintendo and Microsoft fans, you jump on their comments like a ton of bricks, if you really want to stop the bickering on the comments section on this site, you'd do something about them as well as the Nintendo/MS fans. There's off-topic and/or troll comments from both sides, is what i'm trying to say.
@get2sammyb I completely agree with your article, the Vita is a great little console and it's nice to see its still getting some new game announcements, it's frustrating to know it had so much more potential though, i always wanted dedicated Vita games in series like Ratchet & Clank, Ape Escape, Syphon Filter etc but alas, it wasn't to be.
If we could go back in time i'd have said Sony should have created a new, large first party studio dedicated only to making Vita games a year or so before it released, a studio that could work on two games at a time, so we'd have gotten at least one new exclusive per year, that way when all the other devs shifted to PS4 development we would have still got some first party love for the Vita.
Ah well, it has still seen its fair share of classics, i adored Tearaway, Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, Unit 13 etc
I really wanted to like Rage but just found it unbelievably repetitive, but an improved sequel could be quite good, surprised it is coming before DOOM 2 though (if this leak is accurate).
Great to see Tropical Freeze getting so high in the charts, it's one of the best 2D platformers ever made, i wasn't expecting it to chart so highly, great to see three quality games at the top of the UK charts for once lol
@Perryg92 Yeah i want all of those too lol Especially Spiderman, i'm super hyped for that !
I'm gonna hold off on Spyro though, pretty sure it'll come to Switch sooner or later
So many games and that's before E3 too, i'm sure even more will be announced and for this year too, i'm hoping Pikmin 4 will finally get revealed, the wait is killing me lol
@Perryg92 Haha i can't keep up with all the games coming out, i want so many, like DK Tropical Freeze, Hyrule Warriors, Captain Toad on Switch, God Of War on PS4, just don't have the money for them all, having to cherry pick which ones i want the most, i've just bought Wonderboy and Detective Pikachu though, looking forward to trying them
@Perryg92 Haha ill be buying it on Switch, mainly for the motion and touch controls, they'll make it the definitive edition i think, though its a shame it isn't getting a physical release on Switch.
Trying to compare these two is like comparing chalk and cheese, on the one hand you've got an amazingly made, traditional game, on the other, a genius idea that's tonnes of fun (as a gamer and crafter, i especially approve of Labo).
The fact they're both doing well should be cause for celebration, but of course the fanboys (on both sides) have to make stupid comments lol
I've always wanted to try these games but never had a Dreamcast so never got the chance, i remember one of my friends always raving about the first game at the time, then of course its become such a huge cult favourite over time, i will definitely give these remasters a go now, not sure if i'll enjoy them but i have to at least see what all the fuss has been about these past few decades haha
@Dodoo Yeah it still amazes me how they managed to make such ambitious GOW games on the PSP, it's a shame portable spin-offs aren't often given the same kind of respect or exposure as proper console entries, as they are often just as great as their big brothers e.g the GOW games or Uncharted:Golden Abyss. The PSP Syphon Filter games are actually the best in that series i feel
@playstation1995 Wow, laughing at one of the best and most highly rated franchises in the whole of gaming, God of War is good but its no Metroid lmao i realise you seem to only buy Sony consoles but you should branch out a bit, you're missing some seriously good franchises out there.
Also, learn to respect other people's tastes, i think GTA is the biggest load of crap going but i wouldn't actively tag you to say so...
Sounds amazing, i'm glad the change of direction has worked out well for the franchise, i think i will start GOW 3 now so i can get around to getting this, it's been sitting in my backlog for far too long, i loved the first two games in the series so not sure why i've not gotten around to it yet lol
I think its a bit too early to be talking about GOTY yet though ! Especially when you consider how many unannounced games are yet to be revealed at E3 that'll be released towards the end of the year, then there's the announced games that don't have release dates yet that still might drop in 2018 like Metroid Prime 4, which will easily be a contender. This year is shaping up to be a great year for gaming !
I'm really intrigued that we'll get to play as Mary Jane, i hope it means they'll experiment with tones and maybe even genres (you could have it like a point 'n' click adventure where she's looking for something to use to escape a room or something). It would be intense from jumping as playing as a suped-up Spidey punching bad guys to playing as MJ trying to escape from one, the sudden shift could make you feel very vulnerable, i love when games do stuff like that lol
Sounds amazing, i'm so hyped for this game, Shattered Dimensions is my fave Spidey game up to this point (proof that a good Spiderman game doesn't always have to be open-world) but this just seems to be on another level and could well be Spidey's 'Arkham Asylum' moment.
It has definitely improved for me, i've been hooked on Bloodborne all month, am now nearing the end of it and have loved every minute, it has made me want to try Dark Souls, Demon's Souls and Nioh now, but i'll take a break first as the game is so intense, i need something more relaxing to play next haha
I also thoroughly enjoyed Rime the other month, and am looking forward to trying Mad Max next month, so it's been a great year for me so far
I'm looking forward to giving Mad Max a go, been curious about it for a while, i'm currently hooked on Bloodborne and have been since the day it came to PS + i've loved it, nearing the end now so should have it done just in time for when Mad Max arrives, i'm really happy with the free games we've had this year so far
@GigaGaia I guess i should have expanded my comment more as i just wanted to point out how stupid the comment was i was replying to, trying to make out the Switch is somehow in trouble would be as stupid as trying to say the PS4 hasn't done well, it's just ridiculous.
As an owner of all three consoles i get so tired of all the fanboy nonsense, i jump between them constantly and enjoy them all, being blindly loyal to one company and trashing the competition just makes no sense to me.
@PS_Nation Switch has THE highest install base of a console in its first yeah than any other before it, not to mention the extremely healthy attach rate and sales of first party and indie games......so yeah, totally doomed lol
I haven't played the first one yet despite buying it at launch, currently debating whether to play it first or dive in to the sequel first instead ? really can't decide, all i know is the art style of II is one of the most beautiful i've ever seen in a game, it's utterly gorgeous
Already got it on Switch so won't be buying it on PS4, it's a really enjoyable game though, i wasn't expecting much from it but ended up really enjoying the single-player mode.
I think i might be the only gamer in the UK to have not bought GTA V lol i just don't see the appeal of the series, never have, but it must be doing something right to be captivating so many people.
I do get tired of the continual MS/Nintendo bashing on here, trying to say the PS4 is the only console to offer more than two games a year worth buying is just nonsense, while Sony's success is well earned and their UK dominance is undisputed, it's still not healthy to only have one successful player in the market, thankfully Nintendo's market share is on the up after the Wii U years.
As for MS, after such a terrible launch i'm surprised the X1 has held on like it has, its clear they are just coasting the rest of this generation and are well aware it cannot hope to reach PS4 levels of sales, i just hope they are in the process of building up their studios ready for their next console to have more exclusives, its madness that they think they can thrive without them.
Great to have it confirmed, Sony do a great job of just letting their studios get on with making what they want to make, and the end results show that passion, i just hope that this means some of their dormant franchises like Ape Escape and Syphon Filter might be revisited sometime soon as they'd compliment the newer I.P's like Horizon quite nicely i feel.
This will surely lead to some sort of new features for PS Plus, maybe even a big announcement at E3 though realistically what they could do to add to its value is limited, they may announce a sort of backwards compatibility feature, maybe just digitally where on top of the two PS4 games, each month they allow you one or two games for free of PS1/PS2/PS3 games of your choice.........but i could be being too hopeful on this with Sony's attitude to BC lol but PS Now exists too so who knows ?
Amazing month, i had both on my list of games to buy but hadn't gotten around to getting them yet, R&C mainly because it was just a remake, i adore the series though and hope we get a new one soon
@YummyHappyPills I so agree with you, Super Bomberman R was a pleasant surprise for me, i thoroughly enjoyed it, there are rumours that Konami are planning on releasing their three 'ReBirth' Wiiware games on Switch too which i would love, there's definitely two very different sides to the company.
Just my two cents worth on this review, to me, if a reviewer goes against the grain with a review and isn't afraid to give a true opinion even if it doesn't match every other review, that gives me more confidence that they are being honest, not less, i respect that so much more, i feel sorry for Liam for receiving so much flak, hope it doesn't put him off on giving his true opinions on future reviews.
Personally i've never actually played an MGS game, one of the few major, long-time gaming franchises i've never tried, though i do have the original on my Vita, just haven't gotten around to playing it yet, i will try and get to it this year sometime lol
Great news all round, we all benefit when the industry and all three console makers are doing well. Great to see two japanese-made games doing so well, truly impressive that the 3DS has had it's highest january sales in five years too !
@Tasuki I wouldn't bother trying to reason with fanboys, you're wasting your breath lol
Anyway, this is awesome news (if true) i have very fond memories of these games, i think the first Spyro is the very first game i played on the PS1, that or Toy Story 2, i can't remember now, it was so long ago haha
One of the most stunning-looking games i've ever seen, i'm just about to start the first one, i would have bought this day one otherwise, but it'll be worth the wait i am sure

Spiderman and Days Gone for me but as you say, we've seen little of it so it could really surprise.
