Re: Sony: Nintendo's Doing Wonderful Things with the Switch

Toadie

@jdv95 Hmm i don't disagree that some people come on here to troll playstation fans but there are many on here who deliberately try to wind up anyone who isn't solely a PS gamer, most articles have comments about how Xbox has no games or other tired cliches, usually in articles that have nothing to do with xbox in the first place.

To prove my point, look at P1995's comment on this very topic lol

Re: Insomniac Games Celebrates 25 Years of Great Games

Toadie

Happy birthday Insomniac !!

Last month i played through both Spiderman and the first Spyro at the same time, thoroughly enjoyed both of them and it was interesting to see both how far they have come but also how good they were at the very start.

It was quite refreshing to play a focused, linear game at the same time as a huge, sprawling open world, i'm really excited to see what's next from the studio, can't wait for the inevitable Spiderman sequel but i also hope we get a new Ratchet & Clank game soon as well.

Re: PSN Alone Generated More Revenue Than the Entirety of Nintendo in 2018

Toadie

That's a pretty insane comparison, it shows just how far digital has come, i also think it helps that Sony do such great deals/offers throughout the year, there's been many times where i've planned to get a game physically but it becomes so cheap in a sale that i just buy it digitally.

People worrying about the comparison just need to remember that all three consoles are doing well, the industry is the healthiest it's been for a long while, which is great for the industry as a whole

Re: Where Can You Buy PlayStation Move Controllers for PSVR?

Toadie

Luckily i managed to get a pair before xmas on amazon for £80, i have had more trouble finding the aim controller which is suffering the same kind of supply problem and is going for ridiculous prices, i got lucky and found the Firewall bundle from Italy on ebay for £80 which isn't too bad, but Sony really should be doing something to resupply them, after all the black friday deals on the headset itself, it was only natural that people would then want the move/aim controllers not long afterwards.

Toadie

@ohnoitsjade Oh ok, sorry i got a bit carried away lol Was going to invite you to a FB gaming group i run so i could keep chatting with you, i don't use twitter but hopefully if this site reviews the PS4 version of the AA Trilogy they will get you to review it and i can catch up with you then

Re: Feature: Our Most Anticipated PS4 Games of 2019

Toadie

@ohnoitsjade Yeah that's a great deal, the 3DS has an unbelievable line-up of games, it's become one of my fave consoles of all time

I've just sent you a friend request on facebook by the way, would love to find out what you think of the AA trilogy after you've played them

Re: Feature: Our Most Anticipated PS4 Games of 2019

Toadie

@ohnoitsjade Haha no problem, glad you saw my comment

Honestly some of the twists and turns in the games are incredible, i've not played the original three games since they first came out but i recently bought the 3DS remakes so i'll be replaying them again soon.

It might be worth getting a cheap 3DS if you end up loving them like i think you will, so that you can play the other games in the series which are almost as good, there's also some other great adventure games from both the DS and 3DS that are similar to them including Hotel Dusk, Jake Hunter and Another Code, Hotel Dusk in particular is extremely good

Re: Feature: Our Most Anticipated PS4 Games of 2019

Also, Jade Sayers, if you read this, you're in for a total treat when you play the Ace Attorney Trilogy, they are absolutely amazing games with some of the best stories gaming has to offer, you'll be gripped from start to finish i'm sure !

Re: Feature: Our Most Anticipated PS4 Games of 2019

Toadie

Some of my most wanted for this year are remakes - Resi 2, Crash Team Racing and Medievil but i'm also really excited for Days Gone, Sekiro, Psychonauts 2, Bloodstained and Control.

Also hugely excited to learn what PS VR games are in the pipe-line for this year.

Re: Soapbox: Spending My Christmas with PlayStation VR

Toadie

@PS_Nation Hope you do get to experience PS VR soon, i am totally blown away by it, it really is an amazing feeling to feel like you're in the game world, i'm really excited to see how it evolves from here.

It's pretty amazing that a game like Astrobot is so polished and ambitious when the medium is still so young.

One thing i love is that genres that have fallen out of fashion like puzzle games and on-rails shooters are being given a new lease of life through VR, i'd love to see what it could do for some other niche genres now like real-time strategy games, i'd pretty much like every genre to be dabbled with in VR just to see what could be done with them, i'm sure as sales continue to grow we will see that happening more and more, exciting times ahead !

Re: Persona 5 R Announced for PS4, More Details Coming in 2019

Toadie

@Tasuki Thank you, i really do think it's a shame this sort of post keeps cropping up on here every so often, i've really been enjoying using the site the last few weeks/months but just don't come on here to see console war style arguments, i think many will agree with me.

Re: Persona 5 R Announced for PS4, More Details Coming in 2019

Toadie

Sigh Just as i was starting to enjoy this site another cringy fanboy post like this appears again, which of course brings out the worst in the Sony fanboys on here, and predictably, sees only people who object to this kind of content being warned, totally ignoring the people stirring the pot.

@Tasuki You seem to be the only professional mod on here, can't you have a word with the other two ? they seem to think posts like this are funny, when they just totally let your site down.

Re: Japanese Sales Charts: God Eater 3 and Judgment Chart, PS4 Hardware Strong

Toadie

@JJ2 No it's fine, no worries ! it is a public forum after all haha and you're right, i was looking at it strictly from the gaming side, there definitely is a lot the Vita has that the Switch doesn't do, i wish Nintendo would pull their finger out and add a web browser, multi-media apps and friend messaging etc.

I also didn't mean to come across like i was bashing the Vita as i love mine, and still play it regularly, i love being able to play my PS1 and PSP games on it, in fact i think the reason i questioned Lando in the first place is more because i see the Switch as the natural progression from the Vita over even the 3DS, that's why i was surprised to see such a difference of opinion between the two.

Re: Japanese Sales Charts: God Eater 3 and Judgment Chart, PS4 Hardware Strong

Toadie

@JJ2 Why, what have i said that isn't true ? I wouldn't say i was defending the Switch all that much tbh just pointing out what it does well, Lando already owns a Switch so i wouldn't even try and sway his opinion, i am just interested in why he feels that way, if i was chatting to someone who's never tried it, i'd try and say why i think it's worth trying out.

Re: Japanese Sales Charts: God Eater 3 and Judgment Chart, PS4 Hardware Strong

Toadie

@Lando_ I've not played either of those so can't comment on them but overall, i've been quite pleased with the quality of the third party ports so far, before launch i had feared we'd only get lazy, rushed ports like the Wii U did but Panic Button have shown how to do it, apart from EA i feel like most of the publishers have done well.

It's definitely not perfect though, no console is, i found i didn't play much in handheld mode because i got serious cramp in my hands after a few minutes, so i bought the Satisfye gaming grip and it's amazing, makes playing handheld so comfortable now, i wouldn't be without it.

Re: Japanese Sales Charts: God Eater 3 and Judgment Chart, PS4 Hardware Strong

Toadie

@Lando_ It's fine to not like something but i don't see how you can say the Switch is under-powered and lacking great games when you say you love the Vita, the Switch does everything the Vita tried and failed to do, console-quality games on the go, the Vita lacks the full amount of buttons to do it justice. Also, compare ports the Vita got like Borderlands 2 to say DOOM or Wolfenstein II, the Switch runs them like a dream, they look amazing on it so i don't know which ports are poorly executed ?

Re: 'More Than 10' New Games to Be Announced at The Game Awards 2018

Toadie

I don't usually watch this but i will be this time if there's this many announcements, surely it's time we found out what both Rocksteady and Retro Studios are working on ? !! lol

For Sony, would this be the place to announce a mid-tier level game, say a new Sly Cooper ?

Or, if i'm really pushing it, a new Ape Escape or Syphon Filter ???

I know the answer to the last two, but i can dream right ? lol

Re: Guide: How to Fix Blurring in PSVR

Toadie

@Flaming_Kaiser Haha yeah, i think i'm going to see about getting contact lenses early next year when my next eye test is due, i get so fed up of having to clean my glasses every two minutes, my golden retriever is always jumping up on me and smudging them haha

Re: Guide: How to Fix Blurring in PSVR

Toadie

@Flaming_Kaiser This is my biggest concern with PS VR, i'm getting it for xmas but find it really weird to imagine having the headset on with my glasses, i'm extremely short-sighted so can't see much without them, but i'm wondering if, due to the screen being so close to your eyes, would i even need the glasses on when playing it ? something i'm going to experiment with for sure.

Re: Reaction: Sony's Decision to Skip E3 2019 Is Confounding, But One We Can't Judge Yet

Toadie

I really wouldn't worry that Sony are going to go into total radio silence until the PS5 reveal, for one reason - PS VR

As PS4 stands, they probably could afford to go quiet for the rest of its life as it still has blockbusters in the pipeline and those games speak for themselves for the most part, but PS VR is just starting to hit its stride, going silent on that now would be an absolute disaster, whereas multiple, smaller, Direct-style presentations throughout next year would actually suit the format and its more bite-sized games very well and help build the narrative of it being a vibrant, growing platform.

I know the idea of Sony copying Nintendo is often a joke but this is one idea i'd love them to nab, in their own style of course.

Re: Sony Confirms Zero E3 2019 Presence, Will Share New Plans Soon

Toadie

The shock here for me is they're not even going to be on the show floor, i can understand maybe not doing a conference if they don't have a whole lot new to announce, but to not even be on the show floor is odd, it's where the gaming media get to report back on third party games, saying how they perform on each specific console, so in that sense, that part of E3 is pretty important i'd have thought.

It's a shame they're not going to be at the event in some capacity, though i'm going to hold out on being super-disappointed as they must have some some sort of way of connecting with fans next year, i was bummed when Nintendo announced they weren't doing E3 conferences any more but that turned out ok as i love their E3 pre-recorded shows now and no-one sees it as a big deal any more.

Would love Sony to copy the Direct format, and they just may well be planning to, the consequence of that is that announcements are spread across multiple Directs throughout a year so they have less to announce at E3, if Sony is doing the same they would naturally also have less/nothing to show there too, guess we'll find out at some point...
