Re: PS5 Is Coming, Sony Confirms

Toadie

I don't think we need any new consoles for at least three years, it feels like developers are only just starting to unlock the full power of the current gen consoles, this generation was very slow to start so i wouldn't want to go through all that again.

I will be slightly hesitant to buy a PS5, Xbox 2 or whatever it will called so early on next time though now that we've started getting mid-gen upgrades, might wait a few years and see if they do them again next generation.

Re: UK Sales Charts: Horizon Keeps ARMS at Arm's-Length

@BAMozzy Woah defensive much ? !!! did you skip over the part where i said i respected your personal preference and that it'd be boring if we all liked the same thing ? jeez

Eve so i still don't get your point, you can break every single game down to its component parts and say its been done before, yes, including Horizon, it doesn't take away from a games quality.

Also, don't try to dismiss me based on my username, i like Mario but i'm no fanboy, i can (and have been) hugely critical of Nintendo in the past, they make lots of stupid decisions and are rightly called out on them.

Re: UK Sales Charts: Horizon Keeps ARMS at Arm's-Length

Toadie

@BAMozzy I think that's fair enough, everyone has their own preferences, it would be boring if we all liked the same things and had exactly the same opinions, i do think you're doing Odyssey a disservice saying it's just 64 2 though, it looks hugely inventive and creative to me, and is a type of platformer Nintendo hasn't attempted to make since Mario Sunshine.

Breath of the Wild is my current GOTY but i have a feeling either Odyssey or Metroid:Samus Returns will eclipse it, i love how every company is having a good year and we're seeing great games across a wide variety of genres, awesome to see japanese games having a resurgence too.

Re: UK Sales Charts: Horizon Keeps ARMS at Arm's-Length

@3Above Haha i will at some point for sure, i still have games like Nier Automata, The Last Guardian and even Until Dawn that i haven't even touched yet so i'm really going to try and get through some of my Ps4 backlog this summer, same goes for my 3DS games, i am getting so behind lol

Re: UK Sales Charts: Horizon Keeps ARMS at Arm's-Length

Toadie

Arms as a new IP has still done well to get so high, Nintendo games often sell consistently for a long time so i can see it doing well over the course of the Switch's lifespan, especially if the free DLC they're promising comes out over an extended period of time.

Shows how crazy this year is for great games, i still haven't got Horizon, really want it but just don't have the cash right now, might wait for the DLC now before getting it, don't think i'll be able to get the Crash remasters for a while either, seeing as my money will be going on Hey Pikmin and Splatoon 2 next, 2017 will go down as a vintage year i think

Re: E3 2017: Days Gone Saddles Up in PS4 Gameplay Trailer

Toadie

@dark_knightmare2 yeah i have seen a few comments here and there about it, i agree it is what makes the game interesting, we've had so many slow, slumbering zombie games (which i do love admittedly) but it's always good to shake things up a bit !

Re: Talking Point: Did Sony PlayStation's E3 2017 Press Conference Crush the Competition?

Toadie

No-one has been "crushed", i've enjoyed every conference so far, seen games i want from every company, this has been a good E3 for the industry, lots of high quality games in a variety of genres, and we still haven't seen what Nintendo has to offer yet, if i had to pick one 'winner' so far then it is Ubisoft purely for revealing Beyond Good and Evil 2, a game i've waited a very long time for, can't wait for Ninty's show now, we should all celebrate the healthy state the industry is in right now, rather than trying to pick sides.

Re: Feature: 5 PS4 Exclusives That Will Wow at E3 2017

Toadie

I'm looking forward to seeing more of all of these, especially Spidey, but also Knack 2. I've been hoping Sony would announce a new Ape Escape, Sly Raccoon or Syphon Filter for years now and this E3 is no different, even just one of them returning would be awesome.

I actually think all three platform holders are going to have a great E3 this year, i think it will be an E3 to remember, and as an owner of all three consoles, i really would love Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo to be firing on all cylinders this year, fingers crossed

Re: Review: Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap (PS4)

Toadie

They've done an amazing, absolutely amazing job with the visuals on this, it just looks beautiful, i never played the game originally so i'm glad to hear it plays as good as it looks, i look forward to playing it at some point.

Man this year is not letting up with the great games but i'm close to admitting defeat with being able to keep up, i tried but i am skint now lol This will have to go onto the backlog of games to buy later along with many others, think i will make an exception for Splatoon 2 though, and have just ordered Nier Automata, i just haven't got enough time or money for 2017's great selection of games across all the different platforms haha

Re: April's Free PlayStation Plus Games Are Out Now

Toadie

@Shellcore

Glad i am not alone ! haha

Yes the challenge of the game was what i enjoyed most, sure it was repetitive at times and old-fashioned, lacking innovation etc but i just enjoyed it for what it was, not every game has to push the envelope.

Re: Review: Yooka-Laylee (PS4)

Toadie

I don't know if you're allowed to add links to your comments on here but according to GameCentral the game will have a major day one patch that fixes the camera, frame rate and a multitude of other problems, why the review embargo was so early when such an important patch was coming up i have no idea.

Re: Review: Yooka-Laylee (PS4)

Toadie

It's a shame the game suffers from the issues it has but for me just having the 3D platformer genre return is hugely exciting, it's always been my fave genre, gaming just hasn't been the same without it (not counting all the amazing Mario platformers obviously) i've played many platformers that have bad cameras and it's never really bothered me much, so i'm still hugely excited to play the game myself once the Switch version comes out.

Re: Star Ocean: Till the End of Time Is Looking Tasty on PS4

Toadie

I wish the PS2 releases were more consistent, the console's library is golden but so many games have never seen the light of day since, if an extensive amount of the games were made available on PS4 (and Vita) they'd stand to make quite a lot of money from them, as it stands, we're STILL waiting for games like Ape Escape 3, come on Sony, get onto it ! lol
