Who wants to play the single player Halo? Why would they bother bringing it to PS5 and just do single player? If you have to do ONE THING just do multi-player!!! Weird.
Since Sony has seemingly abandoned the InFamous games I guess the only thing we will ever get that is similar is the Prototypes. It would be great to get both games remastered and hopefully get some hype for a third one!
Wow, this looks WAY worse than I was anticipating. The ridiculous levels of gore are insanely stupid. This is not what Wolverine has ever been in the comics or the movies. I don't know where they are getting this blood-thirsty maniac characterization for Wolverine. Not interested in a generic blood-fest action game. Maybe we can turn off the gore and we will see some more X-Men show up in future trailers.
This is EXACTLY what I wanted from this game: similar to Returnal but with some differences that make it unique. It kind of feels like the Quake to Doom. The only thing I would change is that I wish the main character didn't have a trench cloak. The flapping jacket is really off-putting in this context. Maybe we can ditch the jacket or get a more action-oriented outfit somehow during the storyline. Day-One buy for sure!!!
Their "day one DLC" idea is about the most bone-headed thing I've heard from a game publisher in a long time. This is exactly what almost every gamer HATES with a passion.
They should make the game without the DLC be like $50 and then include the DLC with the $60 game, and then give the "Premium version" people a bunch of new outfits and skins. Then make those skins and outfits something that people can pay for if they want.
I would gladly pay for another cool outfit, but paying for additional factions is absolutely unacceptable.
I don't know why you say "it probably won't be a direct sequel." Why wouldn't it be? Did you finish the game? There is a HUGE part of the universe they didn't explore at all, and an entire "faction" we didn't even get a glimpse at (who were responsible for one of the central events in the story). I wouldn't be surprised if the story picked up just a few months after the end of the last game. That would be my preferred direction, but I'm sure they will give us something cool whatever they decide.
This game has horrific images of human bodies having the most intense violence possible done to them, and yet nudity is somehow "too far"? Please grow up, everyone! ๐
Wow, this somehow looks the least exciting and polished I've ever seen this game. It looks like they took all of the life out of it. Maybe it's just the incredibly boring music they put behind this and removed all of the sound effects, but I was very excited about this game before watching this video. ๐
I sure hope people have some good things to say about this when they get to actually play it soon. ๐ฌ
If the world wasn't in the toilet these days I wouldn't mind paying $80 for a top-tier game, but there is just too much garbage in the world right now (and video game companies, like Microsoft are a big part of the awfulness going on) that I have no stomach to pay more right now.
That would be incredibly stupid if they didn't at least make some small reference to what Jin and Yuna got up to after the first game. I mean if they don't plan on making a direct sequel to the first game they can just give us a lore dump somewhere (like Jin's decedent's house that you can go into and find a diary).
And Sucker Punch is not stupid. There will be SOMETHING in there.
I think this order is motivated by nostatia more than a clear judgement of where the games are right now. The original InFamous game is MUCH worse than Second Son in every way. The story is great, and it is the first in the series so I understand the temptation to think it is better than Second Son, but this is absolutely not true. I would love for someone to re-make/re-master the first InFamous with modern graphics (and impliment the improved control scheme in Second Son) and it could be the best of the series. It is absolutely insane that Sony abandoned this franchise and we had no sequels during the MCU heyday and superhero craze. InFamous is the best superhero franchise in gaming. The only games that even come close are the Insomniac Spider-man and Arkham Batman games.
The story was much better than many other PlayStation games cough Days Gone cough. What a bunch of prudes in the comments! Blood and gore don't seem to phase these people (as nobody seems to mention any of that in the game or other modern video games), but android boobs shock the conscious. Grow up, people. It's not real life.
I would love loadouts. That would definitely help me to jump back in for New Game +. I hope to see them improve a lot of the menus. It drives me nuts that I have to change the order of Weapons from "Alphabetical" to "Power" EVERY TIME I do weapons management. It should remember my setting!!! I would also like to be able to group Pictos together - like Energizing Start I, II, and III in a little group together or other ones I want to link to each other.
@Damage99 I'm guessing this was done to train a bunch of new hires at the studio or to learn some new software for PS5. Hopefully they have something else they are working on now that their online multiplayer thing was canceled after the Concord fiasco.
I don't think I can ever wash the bad taste out of my mouth of the broken promises and idiotic statements from the game director on this one. (Freakers arenโt zombies?!? โThese arenโt zombies. In our game, they are part of an ecosystem. They are living creatures. They are alive in the world.โ So stupid!!!)
Also, I don't think I enjoyed one minute of either the gameplay or story โ despite being super excited to play a game set in my beautiful state of Oregon.
This really COULD have been a good game, but the game director being such a tool, the story being boring, and the gameplay not being fun (I played it months after it was released so most of the bugs had been fixed) make this a HARD PASS for me.
@Brundleflies21 Totally agree. I loved every part of this game. I wish I would have been able to decipher more answers about the story from all the clues they gave in the logs. I doubt we will ever have answers, but regardless, the game play was SO great I don't even mind that the story didn't quite fully come together for me.
The price of the system and the games are insanity. This is what happens when X-Box fails: Nintendo thinks they can just charge anything they want for their portable PS4 (and they will almost surely get away with it). I only play games at home on the couch, and the only game that I am even remotely interested in is Metroid Prime 4 and I,m fine playing it on my dusty original Switch.
Absolutely no way am I spending more money on a Switch 2 than I did on my beloved PS5! Sony has nothing to worry about from me.
I was sick and tired of souls-like games five years ago, but now that they seem to finally be getting good I am ready for more (like this one). Previous generation souls-likes seem to be mostly full of disgusting rotting bloated mutations and bleeding freaks/monsters. It is nice to have a bit of pleasant aesthetics like colors(!), feathers, living creatures, good looking fire, etc for a change.
I am always baffled why hardware designers don't get that some features sell a system, even if many people don't use them. Like if there was a video-out port so that people could play on their TV screens, most people would probably never use that (or use it like twice), but it would help people feel confident in their purchase if they knew they had a "fall-back" to play it on their TVs.
@Cry_Zero Totally agree! I LOVED the Uncharted 4 multiplayer. I usually don't go in for online multiplayer games, but it was so fun!
Missing the Infamous 2 multiplayer experience is one of my biggest regrets in gaming. I would kill for a multiplayer mode for Infamous Second Son or some Infamous 4 sequel.
I am totally a fan of playing for cosmetics in multiplayer games, and paying for DLC, but live service games suck. We are willing to pay extra for fun content, Sony! We just want a fun game for our money!
It is absolutely insane that Fairgame$ has not been canceled. Every single dollar spent on that game is money flushed down the toilet. That game is not going to make any money and will be another embarrassment for Sony. They need to cancel it yesterday.
The insane pricing and bonkers decision to not make it backwards compatible killed it before it even had a chance.
I love VR stuff, but I never was even tempted by PSVR2. I'm so angry at Sony for not only squandering their opportunity to make a great VR system, but also to basically killing of VR on a console for the foreseeable future.
I think eventually when 8K displays can be sized down small enough to put in a headset we will see a revival, but it will be years away now.
That is so disappointing that Blue Point was making a God of War spin-off. I was really hoping they were doing something with the InFamous universe (because Sucker Punch seems to have abandoned it). It continues to blow my mind that through all of the superhero craze of the MCU and DC movies Sony did absolutely nothing with InFamous in ten years. I would argue that Infamous 2 and Second Son are some of the best superhero mechanics ever made in a video game. It is so sad they have abandoned this awesome series.
@Americansamurai1 Buying out a competitor and then shutting them down is very typical behavior, and is very illegal. We have laws against this sort of anti-competitive (monopoly) business behavior.
(I don't know that Sony's actions here rise to the level of illegal behavior, but I can see why the union is demanding an investigation into it.)
@Decimateh-xblz Buying out a studio and then shuttering it limits competition. How is this not clear? Sony could have sold these studios, but they closed them and fired a bunch of workers.
Firewalk has a great engine, and they could have made a great game if Sony executives didn't want a cash cow instead of a video game. It would be so simple for them to have hired a new character designer and then made Concord into another shooter game that could have taken money away from Sony and their partners.
It is amazing how little people understand about businesses and finance. Yes, of course Sony is buying studios to limit competition, and then they close them to limit the cost of paying the people who work there.
Just remember, Sony could have just SOLD these studios, rather than just shutting them down. They didn't do this because they wanted to pull the talented employees into other Sony studios while the less talented ones are out on the street. Typical anti-competitive behavior that is very illegal in America.
