Put a couple hours into this today (got delivered early). It's fantastic. My only issue is there are a lot of very long cutscenes as if Kojima made it, but they are really well written. Game is beautiful, hilarious, and what I appreciate the most is it is much more realistic than other games. Got a crossbow that's not a machine gun as it takes time to reload in the opening battle. Still trying to grasp combat but it's really unique, and much more streamlined than the first game. Amazing title so far.

Man, too many games out this month. If Civ 7 and Monhunt weren't coming out this would be also be a day 1 purchase.

It really is the combat that will determine whether I get the game or not. I loved most elements of the first game but the combat was god-awful. I like the idea of more considered combat, but the execution, particularly when facing more than a couple of enemies at once, was the furthest thing away from realistic. I really hope they’ve worked on improving it.

In-game buffs for shagging NPCs is the sort of mechanic that would have been derided 20 years ago as a bit childish.

@thefourfoldroot1 I didn't play the first game very much but the combat is much improved in this one. It still has not really clicked for me yet, but I am positive it will. It is more realistic because I've had 2 fights and lost both, mainly because I was getting trigger happy and burning my stamina for attempting too many swings at once. You really need to be patient and more strategic in fighting than in other games. That said though, I am really enjoying it.

@EfYI Sad part is I have a lot of new games I am working through so getting it early was not a big deal, but I am absolutely glad now because the game is incredible.

Yes, reading some dev commentary, they admit they missed the mark with combat in the first game and have apparently improved it for the sequel. It’s meant be much snappier and more responsive.

Are there any consequences for laying with more than one? I would expect a game like this to offer it, but with consequences...

@thefourfoldroot1 it definitely is. I played it some more after the last comment and it's starting to click for me now. Won a few fights, even against multiple opponents. I'm really happy with it.

@DennisReynolds And even if it is, it will end in tragedy and horror, because the game director is an ***** and has already suggested that same sex romances would likely reflect the ideas around that at the time.

@Spedfrom Considering Hans is a main character and its optional i doubt it. Also the first game had a gay couple as well and the game and characters never judged them even though they were villains.
