Re: Feature: Games of the Generation - Your Five Favourites

Solatorobo

Going for all no holds barred consoles (PC is always in it's own gen so I'll skip that)

1. Super Mario Galaxy: Simply the most fun I have had with a game all this time. Honestly I could not say a single real flaw with it.

2. Uncharted 2: Pretty much the same as Super Mario Galaxy: Unfortunately I hate aiming with analog sticks so it can't tie with SMG. I do realise ND couldn't really solve this problem being a part of Sony and all.

3. TESIV: Oblivion: I played the hell out of this game when it came out. I think Skyrim, while arguably has more common sense mechanics, lost much of that charm that Oblivion's quirky mechanics had (Yes I liked the level scaling thing even though no one else does.)

4. Rayman Legends: Came out at the tail end of the generation (Even being initially intended as an 8th gen exclusive) Rayman Legends is still a fantastic game that has a lot of variety and fun and even quite meaty for a 2D platformer.

5. Chrono Trigger (DS): Very bare bones port of a snes game but it counts as it's the first release of the game in Britain, a lot of fun with a great art style and an interesting story.

Honourable mentions: Super Paper Mario, Halo 3, Assassin's Creed 2, Pokémon Black/White 2, Halo 3, Dangan Ronpa, Super Smash Bros Brawl

Re: Yoshida: Stay Tuned for PS Vita TV Plans in Western Regions

imma be serious though, this thing could be just what I need now that my PS3 is gone. Considering the Vita has perfect ports of games such as PS All Stars and Rayman Legends, plus a smattering of sweet looking games such as Gravity Rush, Ragnarok Odyssey and Soul Sacrifice, it's a pretty tempting option.

@LeLouch 1. "Welcome to die" is a reference to the X-Men arcade game, so I think the informal tone of my comment was ignored here.

2. Pokémon X/Y is a pretty big thing and if Animal Crossing can be such a hit so can Pokémon.

@Sanquine As I am a known PS4 Supporter I wouldn't exactly be a "Nintendo fanboy" now would I?

Re: Review: Time and Eternity (PlayStation 3)

@get2sammyb Hmm...

That's good then. I see a lot of decent to good JRPGs get short shrift from reviewers purely because it's a JRPG or something. (Hell, sometimes I've seen non J-RPG games be given poor reviews purely because the reviewer doesn't like Anime. Well, of bloody course it's going to be fairly niche outside of it's native country so you might as well get someone who likes that niche so that other people in the niche can get a better understanding of the game's quality.

Although bizarrely until the release of Rayman Origins the Rayman games got a similar treatment from a lot of reviewers. Which I find a bit odd, as most people would agree that it's a decently solid series and isn't in a niche genre. (Maybe "Non Nintendo platformer" counts as a niche thing I dunno.)

Re: By the Nine! The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Voted Game of the Generation on Amazon

Gaming community pls.

Out of the ones I have played the only ones that are truly memorable is Bioshock, Portal 2, Uncharted 2 and Super Mario Galaxy.

Also @get2sammyb I do have to agree that it's way too early to say If The Last of Us is the game of the Generation or even the best game ever (I saw numerous TLoU votes for the greatest game ever on a bloody Nintendo forum, which is an indication of the absurd amount of praise it's getting.)

Also just mayyybbbeee TLoU is a bit disappointing to me, but that's a whole other can of worms.

Re: Reaction: Why You Should Stop Bleating About the PS4's RAM

Solatorobo

@hydeks Actually you have a point there. The main thing the 360 has over the PS3 (The 360 has a really lacking Library imo.) is that the PS3's interface is awful. I might as well say that Games first, then interface, then specs. I agree that people need to stop it with the whole obsession with the console's specs.
