Those of you planning to purchase the brilliant Rayman Legends on the PlayStation Vita may want to tread carefully, as the portable version – delayed until mid-September late last week – appears to be missing 28 levels compared to its console counterpart. NeoGAF detectives discovered that the total number of Teensies in the pocketable release is less than on the PlayStation 3, and after hours of investigative analysis, concluded that the rock solid ‘Invasion’ levels – which remix existing stages into nightmarish tests of dexterity – are missing from the handheld iteration.
Ubisoft had previously said that the title would feature “all of the original content” on the Vita, so the absence is odd. The port does include five exclusive maps playable with Murphy the flying frog, as well as some bonus costumes. It’s possible that the publisher had to strip away the content in order to squeeze it onto a game card, in which case it may get added in as free DLC somewhere down the line. Either way, we’ll reach out to the French company to try and figure out what’s going on.

Please do. I may cancel the preorder and get in PS3 or Wii U or not at all if a lot of content is missing. However if the Vita version misses minor things I will go with it since it is portable and cheaper.
I hate when things like these happens D:
If you are going to release a multiplataform game make it of equal quality on each plataform, don't end dumbing down one.
Saves me $40 but this is very disappointing news.
Still getting it on vita it just feels right on that platform
@8vpiper I agree man. Will still get it on Vita. Seems like it's only missing a game mode, that spans some levels. Nothing is supposedly missing from the core game. This is likely a gamecard space issue. Realistically, unless the game becomes a pure obsession then I won't miss an extraneous game mode. To me, some games just fit my Vita game habits better.
Realistically they might make it available for download later, but it might be delayed as a way if justifying, in part, the $20 price difference.
Deosn't the Vita version have some exclusive levels? I read on Eurogamer that it deos, maybe not as many as whats missing, but its still something
@ MadchesterManc It has 5 exclusive Murphy levels. But, it is missing 28 levels that were implied to have been in the game.
@MadchesterManc The Vita version has about five or so exclusive Murfy challenges. In all honesty, I've been playing on both PS3 and Vita and it doesn't seem like much is missing. Legends plays so smoothly on Vita, and the touchscreen levels are tons of fun, that the exclusion of the invaded levels can be overlooked if you just want to take Rayman on the go. Plus it's $20 cheaper, so it's not like you're getting ripped off. That said, the PS3 version is phenomenal, and the capacity in which you use Murfy adds something fresh and exciting to the gameplay. So I think it more depends if you prefer touchscreen controls, or a traditional control scheme.
Don't think I'll buy anyway, maybe next year though. I had played origin and not finish, it's good news I can n play the ICG this month
I've still got plenty left to do in Origins, I can wait for dlc/Plus
@Visiblemode In the psn PS3 is 45 euros while Vita is 35 euros. So it is 10 euros cheaper. @DRL Thanks for the heads-up for the Vita version. I will stick with the Vita preorder via psn that, for some strange reason, was already charged 10 days before the release date!
Why would you wanna play such a game on such a small screen?
It felt too small when I played Origins on 3DS and the Vita's screen isn't that much bigger so I'd rather play it on a full TV screen.
I hope that the levels are available for download. In their defence, the vita version is $20 cheaper than the console versions.
@Cirno honestly, it feels worlds apart. My little one has Origins for her 3DS, I find it a little too tricky at times, much better on Vita, controls too, I've never liked the 3DS controls, they're trashy. I find (barring the lack of analogue triggers) Vita's buttons are better than a DS3.
@KALofKRYPTON The Vita's D-pad is what sells it for me. Great placement and superior control. Using the 3DS D-pad for extended periods of time is painful, to say the least.
Ubisoft Official Statement:
Thanks so much for you passion about this game. I'm currently playing the Vita version and loving it. That said, I know some of you have questions about the Vita version, so here's what's going on: Due to a longer development time than expected, we couldn’t initially include the Invasion Mode – essentially, a second take on existing Rayman Legends maps — in the Vita version of the game. However, we can confirm that the Invasion Mode will be added via a free patch, at a later date. With more than 100 levels, online Coop and challenges, Kung-Foot mini-game, 5 exclusive touch challenges developed specifically for the VITA and 2 exclusive costumes, Rayman Legends already includes a lot for customers to love, and features the same outstanding graphics and gameplay design as the home console versions.
