It's supposed to be a neutral magazine. If they want to make massive articles about how Sony is better than the competition, become a Sony magazine. You are just alienating the Microsoft (And to a lesser extent Nintendo) fans.
Of course a cartoony game would not fully showcase the PS4's power.
But to be honest I would rather embrace this as this might be a relic of actual graphical creativity in western games as eventually I bet more and more developers will be forced to create games that showcase "Pretty" (But really think something like Call Of Duty rather than Dust: An Elysean Tail, X and any other game that actually wants to create nice looking areas to be in.) graphics by the typical gamers of nowadays that want nothing more than those medicore "flavour of the month" games.
Gran Turismo is pretty much the same damn game every time, once sold a demo as a retail game and has little creative juice in it (I mean, what creativity is there in replicating car driving?)
Uncharted was a fantastic series and so was The Last of Us but I also think they are losing their creativity as well, I mean, they are both cover shooters through and through, when compared to the stuff they pulled before where they either constantly tried to add new ideas or completely overhaul the main game in almost every way, The Last Of Us feels just as "Safe" as say, the new Mario Kart.
Nintendo still do those sorts of things as well, I won't deny, but acting as if Sony is exempt from this action as well is just silly. And before you go "But Nintendo doesn't make anymore games in [Random old series] anymore they just make Mario!" Then I'll take say, Ape Escape. I have not seen a single game like Ape Escape or it's sequels, it has a strange control scheme but it works and makes sure that no other game has really had the same feel that the series has (Take note they built the gameplay around the controls extremely well, with the gadgets being quite fun to use). Which just leaves me wondering why the second rate "Halo Killer" Killzone series is getting its fourth instalment (While 343 Industries has done a good job killing Halo as it is ) while this one of a kind series was abandoned apart from an embarrassing move game.
Don't get me wrong, I'm hyped for the PS4, but It'll be third party games like Battlefront 3 and KH3 that I'll be playing.
I can't be bothered to make any CoD jokes, so I will just say that I agree that Cove and Rush look cool but the rest just look like a brown and grey bog-standard maps that many FPSes have. Also, I hope none of them turn out to be a super popular map. Aside from a rare few occasions where I could understand the reasoning behind them super popular maps make the game boring and adjust the players to only being in one or two maps.
But then again, I thought the Resistance games were meh as well. Maybe Insomniac's style of shooters (I like Ratchet and Clank but that plays more like a platformer than a TPS) just are not for my taste.
GAME is a dudebro store to heart. But then again, the competing store where I live tries to sell off broken games/consoles so I guess they are the lesser of two evils.
Anyway, MS are desperate as hell (I know hardcore Xbox fanboys who are still getting a PS4 or a Wii U over this) and it is better to buy online.
NO KIDDY GAMZ, ONLY H4RDC0RE GAMZ PLS. MLG GUNZ AND N0SC0PEZ. FUK ANY GAMS THAT DON'T HAVE VIOLANTS, THEY CANOT BE PLAYD BAI RE4L GMERS BECUZ THEY SAY 3+ ON DA BOX.
#NOVARIETYONLYFPS.
Seriously, not everyone who plays games as a hobby only play FPSes, many play a wide variety of games and don't care what age it is, only the quality of the product.
To be honest it just sounds like Miiverse with videos in exchange of snazzy fanart. Hopefully people will use it to show off cool stuff like glitches and secrets instead of showing off their "1337 MLG N0s0Pez" or whatever.
EDIT: By the way Cliffy B ain't the best guy to listen to imo, even if this is one of his better predictions.
Knack lacks the same charm Crash had. Crash was nice and simple, offered a good challenge and did something that Nintendo didn't at the time (A 3D linear platformer.). Knack just seems generic and bland.
Anyway, I think if anything more cartoony games are getting a resurgence thanks to nostalgia/what many to consider a stagnant market. But then again I don't really talk to chavvy Fifa/Cod people that much so whatever.
However I don't really see why the series are considered all that's wrong with the Japanese games industry. While I have not played the games, it does look like it has some charm to it. Maybe it's the prevyness, I dunno (Even if a fair few western games have had pervy crap it it.)
Thinking about it Rayman would be a pretty good fighting game character, with his floating limbs potentially making him an effective close/mid range character.
Knack is the sort of game that the PS4 would need to remain the best console. "Casual" Is an awful word that chavs use to describe games that try to break the mould and produce games with amazing and unique worlds instead of just basing things on real life. I'm not saying that they should all be cartoony, or even that Knack is the best way to do it (it does look kinda Pixar-ish, and nowadays that isn't really a complement.) But I'm saying that a healthy mixture of games such as The Last of Us and games such as Rachet and Clank: A Crack In Time could make the PS4 the definitive console (of course the best thing for the PS4 would be a PS all stars 2 that has more content than Brawl and better battling than Melee, at which point they just destroyed the Wii U's killer app )
If this continues the PS4 will be by far the most dominant console. The Wii U tacking distantly behind (when the first party games have come out it will be secure sales wise) and the Xbox will be the laughing stock by everyone but the most diehard MS fan.
@TheRealBatman I know, I was talking about myself here. I don't hsve enough interest in most Vita games to get one. I thought that was pretty clear in the post.

Razer u so silly.
Re: Worlds Collide in Mysterious PlayStation Promotion
inb4 Playstation All Stars 2
inb4 anyone actually tries to do an elaborate comment refuting mine mentioning all the financial crap when it was clearly a joke.

Re: So, Atlus' Parent Company Just Registered a Persona 5 Domain
It will probably be good but hopefully everyone will be a bit quieter about it.
Around the parts of the internet I go on no one ever shuts up about 3/4.
Re: First Impressions: Could the PS4 Controller Be Gaming's Greatest Ever Input Device?
I just like the fact they actually tried to edit the design instead of just adding some minor-as-hell features to the same controller.
Re: Nolan North Doesn't Know Anything About Uncharted 4
Either new IP that isn't a cover shooter or Jak 4
Otherwise I'm only somewhat interested.

Sony are just as guilty as Nintendo is.
Gran Turismo is pretty much the same damn game every time, once sold a demo as a retail game and has little creative juice in it (I mean, what creativity is there in replicating car driving?)

KH3 of course

Anything would be better than the PS3's campaign. Shame it sounds a bit too serious for it's own good.
Re: Feature: Five PS4 Announcements That Could Steal the Next Xbox's Thunder
I actually would not be happy to see an Uncharted 4. I think ND should focus on a new IP or a new Jak and Daxter instead.

I don't really know what MS will do.
I'm not really interested in the Nextbox anyway, I'll probably still watch the conference, but I don't see myself buying it

Now let's just hope that treasure makes a remake of Dynamite Headdy sometime.

Really Sorcery devs, really?
Re: PlayStation All-Stars Developer Working on a New Intellectual Property
Good thing they are still around. But still, I hope someone else steps to make a sequel or something. This game really needs one.
Re: Assassin's Creed: Duel Was a Fighting Game Starring Ezio, Sam Fisher, and Rayman
Who in the high hell thought that you could make an Assassin's Creed game where everyone gets the crap beaten out of them by Rayman?
REVIVE THIS GAME UBISOFT!
Re: Talking Point: What's Your Favourite PlayStation Startup Sequence?
PS1 is the best one for sure.
Re: Tempest 2000 Designer Firing New Title onto the PlayStation Vita
Well this looks cool! Tempest was always one of the better shoot em ups, and to have an updated version of the best Tempest game is a good thing.
Re: Ridge Racer: Driftopia Goes Free-to-Play on PlayStation 3
Instead of making a joke about Sony's 2006 conference I'm just gonna say that this looks pretty cool.

PS4 2 stronk.
Re: Feature: How Killzone: Shadow Fall Can Finally Fulfil the Franchise's Potential
@Scrible I always thought that Resistance was supposed to be the "Gears Killer" myself.
Re: Feature: How Killzone: Shadow Fall Can Finally Fulfil the Franchise's Potential
Oh wow, I didn't expect to see the results there, with Shadow Fall being the PS4's biggest title, I thought a lot of people would love it.
Personally, I would like to see the FPS genre take a backseat this generation to some other genre. 5th and early 6th gen were ruled by platformers (Which usually had more variety to them. I mean, Banjo Kazooie, Crash Bandicoot, Klonoa and Sly Cooper were completely different games) and late 6th/7th gen is ruled by FPSes, which leads me to wonder what will be the major genre of the 8th Generation (I'm hoping for RPG, may Pokémon X/Y and Dark Souls 2 lead the way!)
Re: Feast Your Frightened Eyes on Twelve Minutes of Dark Souls 2
DARK SOULS 2 YES.

Re: Talking Point: Do We Really Need So Much Gunplay in Games?
I read the title as "Do we really need so much gameplay in games?" Which is a rather silly question, so crisis averted.
Re: No, Your PlayStation 4 Won't Play Audio CDs
Fun fact: I once had a CD of Rayman 1 so scratched that the PS2 thought it was a CD, it even played the OST (although it was garbled on some tracks)
