Re: Review: Zombi (PS4)

Scorpio73

I picked this up today as I'm a sucker for Zombie games. Don't know when I'll get around to playing it with Madden 16 and Metal Gear coming out soon. I just had to get it. Hope it's good as I'm going in blind on this one. I've never owned a Nintendo system...so hoping for the best here. Great review!

Re: Lucky Hit! Shenmue III Is Now the Most Funded Game in Kickstarter History

Scorpio73

I am a Kickstarter veteran that has backed over 70 video game projects since 2012, and one film. Personally, I'm thankful for crowdfunding simply because most of the games I've backed would have never been made without it. I played Shenmue 1 and 2 way back when, but as time went on and many, many games in between, I had nearly forgotten about the franchise. I played these games with my young nephews at the time and created many great memories. Now 14 years later, I find myself thrilled at the chance to lend my support to a franchise that brought so much joy to my family. My nephews are now adults who are serving in the military, and when I told them about this project it instantly brought back conversations of all the fun we had playing these games back in the day. I honestly believe (and hope) that since this project has received so much support over the coarse of this campaign that Sony will step in and provide the remaining funds to make the game that Ys Net wants to make. In any case, more Shenmue is always a good thing in my book!

Re: As Expected, You Need to Pre-Order The Elder Scrolls Online to Play as Any Race in Any Faction on PS4

Scorpio73

Yeah, never really interested in this PS4 port. I bought into the hype and got the Collector's edition when it released on PC. Sadly, it's just not a game I'm interested in playing anymore. I'm so jaded when it comes to MMO's, especially after years of playing WoW. I've reached the point in my gaming life that I appreciate a good single player experience more now than ever. I don't mind a good multiplayer romp now and again, but I'm DONE with MMO's.

Re: Bloodborne Patch 1.04 Is Available on PS4 Now

Scorpio73

@Alpha man you're not kidding. I've never played a game that is so frustrating, and fun all at the same time. I never played the Dark Souls games, so this is my first foray into From Software titles. I am definitely a fan, but sometimes I just want to punch one of the devs in the throat ya know? LOL

Re: Soapbox: You Should Stop Pre-Ordering Games

Scorpio73

I generally pre-order every game I buy. I don't do it for bonuses, I guess I just think of it as layaway. Instead of just dropping 60 bucks every time a new game comes out, I pre-order it, then go back every couple weeks or so and drop 10 bucks here or 20 there, and by the time the game comes out it's fully paid for. Pre-order bonuses are just a side effect of that.

Re: Talking Point: What One Game Do You Always Come Back To?

Scorpio73

Mass Effect trilogy is up there for sure. I work alot of hours so I also really appreciate Madden 2015...quick game before bed. I really want to get into Bloodborne, but I'm struggling. My first foray into From Software titles. I can't progress. I love it, but I'd also like to get to the first boss...I'm terrible...but God I love this game. I need help in the worst way. I ordered the collectors edition strategy guide and have been watching videos. Some day I will get this game...but for now I'm loving the experience.

Re: Destiny's Next Update Could Give You More Space to Store Your Stuff

Scorpio73

This has to be my most disappointing game of the current generation consoles. I was such a huge Halo/Bungie fan for years, to the point that I didn't hesitate to buy this on day one. The complete lack of story just gutted me. I really tried to like it, but after 3 months of grinding I ended up trading it in. Hopefully Bungie will focus on a better story next game.

Re: Review: The Order: 1886 (PlayStation 4)

I love reading all of these reviews, yours is the best so far Sammy! I can't wait to get my copy so I can form my own opinion. I'm a sucker for Victorian settings and the time period, so I'm hoping that for my money I'll enjoy it. I'm blessed that I have enough of a disposable income to try these games for myself, but thank you for such a great review. It's nice knowing that folks can come to this site for honest reviews that could save them some money. Keep up the great writing!

Re: You Can Spend Over $60 on Evolve's Day One DLC

Scorpio73

I've had it with day one DLC, to put it simply. I actually support DLC if it's done right, but cutting things out and selling it piecemeal on the day of release to me is disgusting. I vote with my wallet...I just wish more people did the same. The only reason developers continue to do things like this, is so many people buy into it.

Re: Review: Assassin's Creed Unity (PlayStation 4)

Scorpio73

Nice review, and one that I agree with. I'm enjoying the game so far, but the technical issues are very obvious here. Hopefully it can be patched up in the near future. One other problem I have is how cluttered the map is. Thankfully you can play around with it to show what you want it to, but if you have everything turned on, holy Mother of God...talk about not seeing the forest for the trees! These companion apps and what-not are pretty annoying as well. I haven't beaten the game yet, but I feel that Black Flag was way better than Unity...by a large margin.
