Bloodborne may have sparked some life and excitement into the industry over the last few weeks, but that hasn't been enough to help it to reach the top of the UK sales charts.
The PlayStation 4 exclusive missed out on first place by 22,500 units, as Battlefield Hardline secured the win for the second week in a row. We need to remember, though, that Visceral's cops and robbers shooter is a multiplatform release, so Bloodborne's performance still isn't to be sniffed at.
Both games beat out the usual bunch, including Grand Theft Auto V in fourth, FIFA 15 in fifth, and Dying Light in sixth. Meanwhile, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection shot into third, while The Order: 1886 climbed to tenth. Sadly, it looks like Class Zero's been dismissed, as Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, which debuted in second last week, slipped out of the top ten entirely.

If bloodborne sells less than The Order then there's just no justice.
Type-0 HD sales were never going to be sustainable. Masses of people flocked to it on opening week to get their hands on Episode Duscae, but from here on out I imagine sales to be poor outside of Japan.
To be honest I wonder how many people there are who have actually gone and bought it but don't even intend on using it for anything other than the demo. Shame really, as Type-0 really is rather enjoyable!
What a shock. Mediocre, generic Western FPS 1 million outsells a great action RPG and one that provides a bit of a challenge. As much as I crush publishers and developers for it, I can't blame them for going the easy route because consumers speak pretty damn loudly with their wallets. That doesn't mean they should change everything about certain franchises to target the pew, pew, explosions crowd. But, can't fault them if new IPs are geared for that market.

Sadly I think that will be the case. Bloodborne is a much more niche game. It doesn't matter how average (could argue below average) The Order is, the type of game that it is appeals to a much wider audience.
Considering Bloodborne only came out on Friday, Battlefield: Hardline would also have a weeks worth of sales in its favour too
I tried to buy Bloodborne in Manchester City centre on Friday afternoon and everywhere had actually sold out of it. Apparently the big GAME branch had only ordered a hundred copies in as their head office hadn't anticipated such a demand for it
Sigh...
Its only on PS4, get a grip guys.
For an exclusive it's done very well, especially with some stiff competition for Battlefield. I can see the game staying in the chart for a while (which is should do as new releases seem to be dry till may, bar MK)
This sucks, Battlefield Hardline is really just not that good. Bloodborne is fantastic....I suck at it, but holy God it's fantastic!
@Scorpio73 i am still stuck on the second boss lol i still think its really fun.
Haha BFH is awsome, Bloodborne is good very good, excellent in fact i'm half way through the game and I want to complete the first run solo, 2 great games why do we have to love one game and hate on the other? I'm having an awsome time on both game's, the last week has been the best for me since the PS4 was launched. Why can't we celebrate this?? Some people :< sigh Screw the haters anyway i'm having a blast on both games.
