Re: Xbox Series S Specs Limit the Scope of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

I remember when xbox unveiled the S. They and most media heads/podcasters were saying it was more powerful then the PS5 and would have ridiculous performance and everything 60 FPS at 4k on it. As someone who has one for back compat. it is better than an xbox one but still struggles to even run some newer games. Its fine for the 360 and OG back compat games though.

Completely agree with this is. Insane demand for graphics are likely driving up develop time and cost. Yeah make it look nice but as long as it plays good with good story, some leeway can be had. Stellar blade looks really good but didnt have to be hyper realistic and like made for a mere fraction of a sony game. Why did ND last pf us 2 cost $220 million when Sucker Punch made Ghost for like 70-80 mil

@carlos82 i’ve said for a while that the only thing that has stopped them doing day abd date was not console exclusive but capacity and knowledge to do the ports. Nixes was to handle some and teach other teams as other teams have no pc experience. That remains the only thing stopping at that point

@11001100110zero i mean yes Microsoft heads are meddling, taking over but thats because microsoft invest like 80+ billion in acquisitions in past 3 years alone and ABK was the biggest in microsoft history. They are no longer a rounding error, and the heads of microsoft now want to see profits to earnback the investment. They could have stayed smaller and still have been allowed to have freedom even if continued as a loss leader pre-acquisition spree.
Additionally, Microsoft outside of xbox is actually a software anywhere company where they might also influence xbox to become truly a 3rd party as they have so spoken about play anywhere much in the past.

As with any big operation, theres always alot of unneeded expenses going on. We are seeing massive layoffs right now as a part of this. Less focus on hypergraphics could reduce development time as well as certain platforms that require an extra year or so to make it playable.
Also maybe cut down on external cost like DEI consulting firms which hurts the product in the end?
