I'm going to be honest: it looks pretty rough on the PS5 Pro too. In fact, it made a HORRIBLE first impression on me last night. The "conversations" with NPCs feel like they come from some international port from the late 90s. The UI was made by amateurs. The controls are universally bad. And the game crashed my PS5 Pro about 20 minutes in when I looked at the map for the first time. I had to hard reboot the system. Color me crushed and not impressed.
@Jay767 Heck yeah! Marathon rocks! But I like this news. I was thinking about buying a Marathon skin last night, maybe I'll just go ahead and do it. That purple and black Recon skin looks pretty snazzy.
Seriously, though, the first one I saw was the Grace one from RE9, and I was disturbed that she no longer looked like Grace. It was a different person. So I guess it depends on what your first exposure to this was.
You know what looks like pure magic on the Portal? LEGO Horizon Adventures. Holy cow that looks amazing - plays amazing too. I'm one of those Premium subscribers, and I almost never use the Premium features - but I like having them available, and it's only a couple of extra dollars.
I absolutely love Marathon. I can't stop thinking about it. I watch videos about it while I'm working. I'm thinking of new strategies and making new plans with squadmates for when we get home from work. Absolutely stellar game, and the story is exactly my cup of tea. Going to watch Event Horizon with my older kids tonight (on Friday the 13th) just to celebrate.
Clearly Sony is making the right decision here. Keep your exclusives exclusive. If you make enough super-killer games for your platform, then real gamers would be stupid not to buy in. I finally joined the Sony Ponies after two decades of being an Xbot, and it was because I wanted all those sweet games. And now that I'm here, I'm loving every square inch. Returnal is phenomenal, and I'll be picking up Saros day one!
It looks great to me. My kids were also really interested. In fact, I might need to buy two more PS5s so that at least three of us can play together - if this game survives its first week, that is.
I think you go to this art style when you want to reuse a metric butt-ton of art assets for a quick game turnaround, but you don't want it to LOOK like you reused all those assets.
Personally, I'll be glad when this throw-everything-at-the-wall live-service circus finally comes to an end.
This game is so redundant after playing Genshin, ZZZ, and Wuthering Waves. Honestly, it's hard to see where one ends and another begins. I've been looking forward to this game for over and year, and almost the second I started playing it I started feeling guilty for immediately wanting to uninstall it. Sorry, Endfield, I've just done this WAY too much already.
This sounds awesome! If you've ever used NotebookLM before, this sounds a lot like that - only made for the games you love. I'd listen to this over and above real podcasts, and I'm not even kidding.
