Honestly, this looks fantastic, so glad they have kept the heart of what made Fable Fable in the first place, looking like a day 1 purchase

Edit: I will say the combat looked a lot like Witcher 3, I'll leave that up to you if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

@theSpectre I'll be honest I have never heard of Marathon as IP before this game, I think the majority of people are the same way.

Having "might actually be good" in your title does not fill me with any confidence...

@theSpectre Funny thing is, I couldn't give a flying fish about Marathon, as a D2 player with over a 1000 hours played, I felt that bungie had betrayed us when they decided to make this instead of D3. All I'm saying is the pre-order numbers are looking good, not my problem if you can't/won't accept that fact.

Am I the only one who liked this one?

@Hi569 As in the discussion around Marathon has become a lot more positive, this is evident by the fact it's fourth on the pre-order chart for steam and like third on PSN.

Looks like Black flag got shadow dropped right out of 2026...

Look I know the game/devs have been getting roasted on social media ever since the trailer, yes most of it is toxic dogpiling.But I truly believe them going completely radio silent since TGA was not the right call at all. Again I never wish any game to flop but sometimes the studio has to fight back and prove the game is worth playing, Hell look at the turn around Marathon has done.

@Fiendish-Beaver No it's a stand alone story, think like Silent Hill 2 is it's own thing.

@Neither_scene I was unware of that infomation, so thank you for sharing, I think the whole discourse about console performance came up was because they were only showing PC gameplay. Still think we should wait on reviews for this game.

I have always called this game a red flag (or in this case Crimson...), will be very curious to see how reviews pan out, specially on console because apprently it doesn't run very good them 😬

Now this looks way more appealing then Avowed to me anyway.

@Rich33 7 saved and RE2R solidified the franchise and RE4R was the victory lap.

Agreed, once you leave the estate the quality takes a massive nose dive, also unable to skip cut scenes is extremely painful on repeat runs. RE7 also may have the best DLC run for any Capcom game.

My biggest grievance with RE2 is the cut content (including the B scenarios) I know RE3R is the biggest offender and RE2R seems to get a "free pass" on that criticism, but even with so much missing it's still one the best games of the PS4 era. Think that just shows you just how amazing og RE2 was.

@DennisReynolds While you are correct with the games you've listed, it does still fee likel they haven't completely ripped the plaster (bandaid) off.

@Fiendish-Beaver So you prefer the action oriented REs, which is fine of course but people tend to forget that RE7 saved the franchise because they went back to the roots of what made those games great in the first place. The Baker estate to me is peak survival horror, and if Grace portion plays like that, then Capcom are on to a winner.

Now we just need to leave the PS4 behind and start focusing on PS5 and beyond, it's gonna have to start at some point...

@Fiendish-Beaver I wouldn'y say changing the pace/style with Grace's portion of the game will be "dull" from the looks of it, they are going for a RE2R mixed with RE7 approach and that ticks the boxes for me.

@JB_Whiting I think the biggest flaw with CVX is, you can very easily soft lock your self at many points in the game (The Tyrant fight on plane anyone?)

@HaveTheSauce CVX is a main line game.

They have also been saying that RE0 will be next one to be remade, either way both games deserve the remake treatment and if the improve on the pain points of the original then this really could be a absolute classic.

As I have stated about Arc Raiders, extraction shooters are not my thing at all, but I won't lie, from everything Bungie have shown off about Marathon since the delay looks way better, I think it will do ok but won't reach Arc Raider numbers.

@PuppetMaster I think letting 0 and 1 have that as a unique mechanic is great and would get devalued if it keeps showing up, Also Grace and Leon play so differently so that alone is enough for me personally.
