No One Noticed Intergalactic's Hidden Naughty Dog Easter Egg 1

We barely know anything about Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, but actress Tati Gabrielle has revealed that her alter-ego’s name features a secret Naughty Dog Easter egg – and no one noticed.

In an interview with JeuxActu for the Mortal Kombat 2 movie, clipped up and shared on X (or Twitter), she’s asked whether her character’s name Jordan A. Mun is a reference to the “moon”.

She responds that it’s actually a traditional Korean name, as Jordan is a mixed race character, like the actress herself.

But there’s a secret Easter egg hidden in the initials, too:

“The initials for Jordan are J-A-M. For those that know, that’s a callback to the original creators of Naughty Dog and their name.”

Indeed, the Sony studio’s original name was JAM Software, inspired by the first names of its founders: Jason Rubin, Andy Gavin, and Mike Goyet.

The studio developed Apple 2 adventure game Keef the Thief under this name, before rebranding as Naughty Dog due to a breakdown in its relationship with publisher Baudville at the time.

It’d go on to make SEGA Genesis RPG Rings of Power and the atrocious Mortal Kombat knock-off Way of the Warrior, before getting its big break on the PS1 with Crash Bandicoot.

While we hadn’t noticed Jordan A. Mun was a reference to its old JAM Software days, we do love how Naughty Dog tends to embed these tiny little nods into its titles.

We wonder what other Easter eggs will feature in Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, because we’re sure there’ll be references to The Last of Us and Uncharted buried in the game.

Did you realise Jordan A. Mun was paying homage to JAM Software? Let us know in the comments section below.
