Nothing, absolutely nothing will ever compare to THQs Undisputed 3. Tried to play 4's career mode. Made a wrestler. The mode made me learn stand up with no mention of how to clinch or take anyone down OR how to do anything on the ground if I got taken or knocked down. Deleted it and haven't been back. Garbage gameplay with a shiny coat of paint.

Dbrand stuff is built pretty solid. I have some Darkplates and they lessen the PS5s footprint and cool it better. If I ever have money to burn, maybe I'll get these

@Splat The advantage of reusing the same city(s) for the majority of their games. They change some things up about the city - construction, new shops, etc. - but put the focus on new gameplay elements and story.

Oh man. I remember going to my Aunt's house and they had this game when it first released. I had zero clue what I was doing - was like probably 5 or 6 at the time - but it was unlike anything that was out at the time. Awesome announcement!

Also seeing the Road Warriors, La Parka, Sgt. Slaughter and potentially some others. Can't wait for this!

I'm still holding out a shred of hope that the new Like a Dragon is playable with both Kiryu and Ichiban, with Kiryu being beat-em-up and Ichiban being turn based. Why not?

Just finished the game for a second time, but this time with the Iki Island expansion and PS5 upgrade. Such a satisfying game to play.

A newer device that plays PS3 era games...?

Was going to get this but not any more. Rewarding the devs for subpar work isn't something I'm willing to do at this point

Still need to get the second expansion, but I'm glad they're doing the upgrade thing AND being clear about how to actually do it and what is required.

May I suggest a better use of time? Like playing more than a couple of minutes of a Yakuza game that can take 40+ hours to fully complete?

I never preorder games any more because studios just don't deserve the benefit of the doubt these days.

That being said, the consistency of RGG games cannot be understated and I'm getting this day 1. Played through every Yakuza game a couple years ago including a couple playthroughs of Kiwami 2 and Judgement. Cannot wait!

The upgrade process for PS5 if you just had the base game and no DLC was a pain in the a$$. And now I'm seeing all this nonsense about cross save trouble and people buying the DLC separately and having problems.

I tried to play the first one on PS3 during COVID before the remasters we're announced and gave up. That game straight up sucked to play. I'm glad they overhauled it. Looking forward to playing them!

The a progress they made in the mode from 0 to Kiwami 2 was pretty large. I'm sure they'll add some more wrinkles here too. Can't wait!

I'm assuming that Eric is probably in his 40s at this point - judging solely off of one recent picture I've seen of him, as if he isn't young enough to do any number of things beyond GoW. But to imply that ONLY being known as the director of GoW is a bad thing? C'mon dude.

There's also articles that spoil things without including a SPOILER WARNING at the top of the page i.e The Ringer has an article about the game and spoils a huge thing that happens midway through without any kind of warning.

Never read the books. Seen one of the movies out of order and don't really remember it. Will probably still play this because it looks damn good, pure and simple.

Entered. Why not? Looked through my trophies to make sure I had it. I'm 2 away from the Platinum. Maybe I should play through it again before Ragnarok and get them... Stupid treasures and ravens.

Sad we won't be getting the sequel on current-gen. I loved this game for what it was and never got around to playing the second DLC. Probably pick this up.

Can' believe it has been 30 years. I remember my brother buying this for Sega Genesis when it came out and seeing a fatality for the first time. I was 5 lol.

7. Worst score I've gotten on this in a long while

Always played these with subs. I even tried to play GoT with Japanese language and subs but it had the opposite problem of old anime: the character's lips speaking English with Japanese audio lol

@rvd4 I'd imagine 8 is going to be turn based like 7.

Or, and I just thought of this, dual protagonists Ichi and Kiryu with the Ichi sections turn based and Kiryu sections traditional beat-em-up....

Makes sense if you're aware of the history of the franchise. Trying to explain this to a Westerner who's new to the series is another story....

@Netret0120 It helps 1000% that they essentially re-use assets from the cities/towns of prior games and just make different businesses enterable. Not a complaint, mind you; I really dig that the cities for these games are characters themselves.

I sincerely am hoping for a Kiwami 3. I played through all 6 mainline Yakuza games last year in order and the jump from Kiwami 2 to a remaster of 3 was... jarring.

Semi excited. Nagoshi leaving is big enough to have me wait a bit before deciding on jumping in or not.
