Core, and unfortunate, memory specific to the PS2 version of this game:
I rented this from Hollywood Video - yes, rented - based off of stellar reviews. This was one of those PS2 games that had the blue back (remember that?). This game is how I found out my original fat PS2 was broken: it wouldn't play the game because of the blue back. Played other games fine, though.
@Dalamar I think the point being made is why are you clicking on an article for a game you don't like to point out that you don't like the game when the article is about the upgrades being made? Seems like a waste of time, doesn't it?
I would love to have the amount of time some people seem to have to come into comment sections of articles about games I loathe to lambast them for... existing.
$10 well spent. Looking forward to (re)playing this and Forbidden West for its DLC I never played.
Not surprising in the least. Rockstar has become what they used to lampoon: the ultimate in corporate greed and capitalism. Locking an essential feature like this - if you don't think it is, you haven't played online recently - behind a paywall in a game that's over 10 years old is ludicrous.
@AdamNovice Rockstar/Take Two have show their colors in regards to re-releases: bare minimum effort and a ridiculous price tag because people will buy it regardless.
If it doesn't serve their bottom line, they could not care less.
@TheArt Not the best expansion by any means. It's fine. Far Harbor is worth the price of the expansion pass alone. One of the best pieces of Fallout DLC period.
The strategy worked: release the current gen upgrade along side the show. Certainly helped that the show is being widely praised.
@VeldinX I mean, it WAS more at home in their hands. They built what is considered by many the BEST Fallout game in under 2 years!! That is absolutely insane to think about, especially nowadays.
@sorteddan You really don't HAVE to do the settlement stuff or protect the bases. I've played through the game a couple of times and really only utilized already-built workbenches and power armor stations.
Agree if you're completely new to these games that 4 is the way to go. Tight gameplay and they made the RPG elements more introductory than the older games.
I really want to go and play Fallout 2 since there are lore ties between that game and New Vegas.
The article headline tells you EXACTLY what this article is about. If you're that bothered by it, don't click on the article and read it. Some of you WANT to be bothered by things, it seems.
This card could be useful to someone, say, wanting to purchase a PS5 with accessories and games. Easily over the $600 threshold and they'd get the top-tier PS Plus for free. It isn't PushSquare's responsibility to school people on their personal economics any more than it is the government's job to tell you what you should and shouldn't shove in your mouth.
Never played Persona but I've been getting into JRPGs more lately. I saw this game on sale a week or 2 ago and almost pulled the trigger.
I'm very glad I didn't. This is some anti-consumer BS. Also, I think the expansion pass is currently free on Game Pass which makes this all the more laughable.
At this point, I think the only reason you could really use to justify the purchase of an Xbox is their emulation capabilities and ability to play games natively from the a couple generations ago. I really want to jump back into GTA 4 and there isn't a good way to do it on PS5.
Replaying 7 right now. Forgot how damn charming Ichiban is compared to Kiryu. I don't preorder games any more, but this will absolutely be an exception. Can't wait!
If it drops to $100, I'll think about it but Sony's anti-consumer BS where you can't just use any bluetooth headphones with thing is 1 of the things driving me away from even thinking about it.
I was one of the morons who bought this at launch and tried to play it 2 or 3 times. The menus and perk systems were just a little much for me. Didn't make it past the first hour until the 2.0 update. Really digging the game. Wasn't planning on getting Phantom Liberty but I think I'm gonna pick it up now.
Say what you want about the launch of the game, but at least CDPR has really hammered away and made this game very good.
I've tried to get into this game on a couple separate occasions and just couldn't. The UI, convoluted skill trees, and issues with loot were too much for me and I just don't have the time to play with all of it. Sounds like that may not be a problem any more
Always fun to read the comments on this game every year and remind myself that airheaded elitist opinions about what sport is best, football (soccer) or American football, aren't exclusive to America.
Anyways, I'm sure the game is just as terrible as the last 10 or so iterations. Hard pass, as usual.
@Lavalera Give me a game based on Akiyama, damn it. I remember how much of a breath of fresh air that dude was when I played through 4 and 5. Such a great character.
lol. Some of y'all geeking over the review score make me NOT want to play the game. 7 ain't bad. It's fine. If you disagree, then cool. Move on and go play something. Probably only Quake apparently.
@MikeOrator I ordered a game from them before. I think it was a physical copy of Disco Elysium because I (mistakenly) thought the physical release was limited. Didn't have any issues. Shipping took a little longer but that's a small quibble.
@Zisssou Good game is still good regardless of how you feel about someone's comments who also wasn't involved in the game's development.
This, on the other hand, is an obvious cash grab from a tech giant who couldn't be bothered to do something that Xbox has had for years. And charging a premium for it. There's a difference.
Disappointed as I was going to buy this today and play it; HOWEVER, this is breath of fresh air. Odd how speaking to gamers with respect and honesty seems to be going over well...
@Porco Assuming that Gaiden leaves off straight away from part 6 - which had a brand new locale/map for the series - I would think that a new/updated map is in the works.
And IMO, even with the locales being reused a bit, the series never got stale for me. I played every entry within a year and didn't get burned out which was surprising for me; however, I don't remember a ton of the plot points from games 3 - 5 lol.

Re: The Outer Worlds 2 Confirmed for PS5, Out Next Year
Anyone know if they fixed the issues with the PS5 upgrade of the first game? Was pretty brutal.
But excited for this! Really enjoyed the first game.

Nope.
Voting with my wallet on this one. Cannot support Rockstar any more.

It's a trollish thing to do.

Re: David Hayter, the Voice of Snake in Metal Gear Solid, Teases Return to the Role
@Oram77 MGS was my favorite gaming franchise... until 5. I tried so many time to get into that game and I just couldn't do it.
Re: David Hayter, the Voice of Snake in Metal Gear Solid, Teases Return to the Role
YES! He is and always will be Snake.
Re: Jaw-Dropping 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro Console and Accessories Will Bankrupt You
Had the Dualshock 4 version of this for the ps4 and sold it like MORON. Need to cop the controller, for sure.
Re: Poll: What Are Your Summer Gaming Habits?
Poll is very much dependent on student/adult/kids or no kids lol, at least the first question.
While I was a single student? Gamed A TON. As a married father with 2 kids, I have less time than ever.
Re: Next Ryu Ga Gotoku Game to Be Revealed at Tokyo Game Show 2024
Sincerely hoping for a Kiwami 3, but I doubt that's it since they've spoken about this in the past and they're throwing the word "surprise" around.

I get to kill Conor Mcgregor? Llke, as much as I want?

My actual job is fixing people's screw ups at my company. They have to go through a system where they charge the error to someone or the system.
Let me tell ya: not taking accountability is NOT unique to a generation lol.
Re: Rumour: GTA 6 Could Slip as Far Back as 2026 Due to Development Issues

Eagerly awaiting playing this in my 40s. Sheesh.
Re: Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake News Teased for David Hayter's Legacy Series
Gonna wait and see on the remake. 3 is a fantastic game as-is and I don't have a ton of faith in Konami tbh.
BUT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD REMAKE MGS.

@gymratAmarillo mostly agree, although we haven't really seen this with women in acting gigs.

That being said, can't wait to dive into Gaiden!
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1?

Re: Preview: Like a Dragon Gaiden Feels Like an Evolution of the Yakuza Franchise
@SJR If you have the option, play on either Xbox or PC. Runs at 60FPS. No option for that on PS4/5 for some stupid reason.
