Currently playing through Alan Wake 2 immediately after beating Alan Wake 1 last week, and I am completely dumbfounded how awesome this game is.

@Czar_Khastik Shuhei Yoshida was the head of PlayStation Studios and PlayStation Indies at different intervals over the last 10-15 years. He's the reason games like Returnal were greenlighted. Almost everything since has been Herman Hulst and Jim Ryan.

@Toot1st Strongly disagree lol. So the lore of the Nimloth and Gondor in Lord of the Rings is not itself a story? Same goes for the plight of the chosen undead in Dark Souls 1, the cyclical nature of the repeating prophecy of DS3 of a world that burns to ash and roses continuously forever, or the store of the Old Blood and the Old church in Bloodborne? Again, just because you refuse to see the forest for the trees does not mean it's not there. You just aren't actively participating in my the story. It's like skipping every cutscene and saying welp this game has no story.

@Toot1st There is a story, you just haven't bothered looking for it. The story is told through environmental story telling, item descriptions, npcs etc. If you're not into that form of storytelling that's one thing but to say it doesn't have a story is dishonest. I love the story of DS1, DS3, Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Elden Ring. These are lore and story rich games

@Toot1st What's bad about them? Froma souls games apart from Sekiro are about the lore, the story already happened. You're wandering through the world long after it thrived.

PS5 will most likely be my last console. Having a family makes it very difficult to find time to play, and tbh I've been let down by this generation. If I do continue to carve out time to play games in the future I'm just going to build a PC.

I had my souls trapped out of bounds early on and lost out on 300 rosaries early on. Keep on trucking though

11 hours in and still basically at base health and damage. Love the game, but I just lost 483 rosaries being caught off guard by an invading boss encounter, so I'm taking a break lol

Still can't buy it in Canada. 11am

The lack of info surrounding this game since it's announcement has worried me. I am so excited to know this still exists. I think if they can match the energy of Alien Isolation this will be a home run. Seriously can't wait to play.

@gamer153 but that's how the game is played. Open the map, set your marker, and run. That's what I mean by shepherding. Hey man, I was able to get the platinum in just over two weeks by playing with randoms. If you can't even play the game using the tools they give you then the game isn't the problem here.

@gamer153 I've only ever played with randoms. It can be shocking to see truly bad players make terrible mistakes and try to fight the day 2 boss being level 7. But you've just gotta get better at shepherding them.

Nightreign is excellent. Took me twenty hours to understand the game and beat the first boss. Beat the next seven bosses over the the following ten hours. Very doable platinum trophy. Took me about 75 hours.

Bring back Fat Princess!!! None of this adventures crap, I'm talking the original.

I thought D4 started strong, but over my next 60 hours with it I hated it more and more. I'm still a psycho who will put 60 hours into D2 without a second thought. I don't know. D4 just doesn't have a soul.

I love the game. I have always felt the online hate to be extremely immature and nonsensical. As if Joel Miller's life must continue because they demand it. Like, how do you get through life with this kind of mindset? The game clearly illustrates the human cost for seeking revenge. In that sense the game is terrific. It's depressing as hell, but it is rock solid.

That being said, I will not be watching season 2 of the HBO series because I don't need it. From what I've been hearing it's a downgrade from the source material and that is one of my greatest pet peeves when it comes to respecting and following the source material.
