Re: Sony Says PS Portal Wasn't Designed to Make a Profit

JokerBoy422

Basically they're lying. What they mean to say is the Portal wasnt designed to make profit on its own but with the hopes it increases engagement, by players playing more games which in turn means more time players are likely to purchase battle passes and other microtransactions which they do make profits on any time a purchase is made on the PSN.

Re: Insomniac Confirms Primary Marvel's Spider-Man Moving Forward

JokerBoy422

Miles is great, don't get me wrong, but he's just not that interesting because of his whole thing being he's suffers from the same issue as Superman does. He's too OP. Anytime he faces a new struggle, he just gains some new power that doesn't really make sense but means he can now defeat the bad guy. Whereas Peter Parker on the other hand is drenched in lore and personal struggle. He doesn't really just "gain new powers" in order to beat the bad guys that momentarily overpower him, and if he does it's never permanent and usually just blows up in his face. He has to use his wits and brainpower to think his way around problems. He's just more interesting.

This also sucks cuz it means so many storylines we will never see play out now. This wasn't what I was hoping to see so I'm probably out now, but I hope Insomniac can think up something cool in order to keep everyone else interested going forward past the Venom spinoff.

Re: You'll Need an Internet Connection to Pair PS5 Slim's Optional Blu-ray Drive

Jesus Christ.... I thought we were past this with Sony! Remember the PS4 pitch for used games? That was a slam to the face for Xbox. Now this?! If this is the new precedence Sony is going to set going forward then I can only imagine how they plan to further evolve this idea later and go full DRM and I might be out supporting them going forward because of it.

Re: Jim Ryan Retires as PlayStation Boss in March 2024

JokerBoy422

Thank God. Good riddance Crying Lying Jim Ryan! Please Sony, put Shuhei Yoshida in charge or someone who at least plays games and understands the art of the industry. All Jim did was reap the benefits and successes of those before him and then make himself a bunch of money by raising the price of everything under the guise of the brand being "boutique". He hasn't given us many titles that he signed off on apart from all the live service titles coming and putting Bungie in charge of all creativity going forward. Again, good riddance.

Re: Konami Forced to Clarify MGS Master Collection Is 1080p, Up to 60FPS on PS5, PS4

JokerBoy422

@theSpectre no they didn't. They said the shadows were better in their opinion but I don't find super sharp shadows too realistic lol. They also claimed the contrast is better on PS4&5 as well which I also contest. The Xbox version has deeper darks and brighter brights. DF can claim whatever they want but this new version is slightly washed out compared to the Xbox native contrast settings. Granted you could probably change your TV settings to get the same thing either way. All DF claimed were edge cases and even then it was all opinionated and subjective. Not to mention as far as I saw they never claimed either version ran better than the other. Both are pretty much locked at 30fps and look practically the same.

Re: Poll: Are You Sold on PlayStation Portal?

JokerBoy422

I don't know what they're thinking. They have $200 earbuds coming out but also a premium headset that's only $150 and this Portal thing exists for some reason and yet I find more value and use in the ear buds than the Portal.

Re: Talking Point: Would You Buy a PS1, PS2, or PS3 Emulator for PS5?

JokerBoy422

PS Now is never going to be the answer to this issue. It doesn't work well enough to be a proper answer and it never will. Streaming will never be the future and it should be something added to an already established downloadable service, not a streaming service in and of itself.

Xbox's Game Pass should be the standard here. If you want to stream it's an option but not the main option.
