@ButterySmooth30FPS throughout the games it’s clear that Link actually talks, at least occasionally, just that we as gamers never get to hear it.
So the right adaption for the movie would be the same, various of clever/silly ways for us to not hear what Link said, and everyone else responding to him.
Atlus is really the champions of rereleasing games with minimal added value. The way they keep milking their fans is really off-putting and makes me reluctant to buy any of their games until I feel confident it’s the last release with everything in.
Always been sceptical about Game Pass or similar from the start, math just didnt add up for how this would be better for devs, and with that worse for gamers. Great for corps though.
I didn't play this at all until just last week, and I was a bit surprised with how dated the game felt. Not just character animations and visuals, but also gameplay loop felt very past-gen. Having just played Death Stranding, a game a year older, made Ghost feel very dated.
The overall presentation is still really good and story seems good so far. I'll continue to play it probably just expected more I guess.
As PS3 was a generation I skipped, I’ve never played GTA IV, so would love a port to PS4/5. Add Final Fantasy XIII to that list as well while you are it.
Ah this is great. I have my DualSense Edge that I use with both my Mac and my PS5 but half of the time I find it too much of an hassle so just use a normal DualSense with my PS5.
@RadioHedgeFund The article links to one tweet saying "this looks ***** awful" based on a screenshot from a trailer that contained a few secs of what looked like gameplay.
He's not saying the game is awful, just that it looks awful.
That's his opinion. You may disagree, and he might change his later when the game is actually released. But it's still a valid opinion. I personally don't agree with that opinion. I think it looks ok, rough maybe, but not awful. But I know that diverging opinions is very important. How will the game devs know what to improve if everyone treats what they do as golden eggs?
EDIT: I should also add that by publishing the quote, and make it an article, PushSquare is enabling or validating it. I'm personally more against articles like this, than the actual comment. But that's just my opinion.
@RadioHedgeFund Both are opinions. If anything, your second quote is more a statement of facts, rather than an opinion.
You are reading way too much into what an opinion is. According to dictionary it's "a thought/belief/judgement". It doesn't need to be based in fact. You can have a difference of opinion. An opinion doesn't even need to be logical. You can a really bad opinion of your ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend just because he's her boyfriend, even though he could be the greatest person in the world.
Invalidating other people's opinions is somewhat putting your own on a pedestal, saying your matters more than others.
@RadioHedgeFund There’s a big difference between an opinion and a review, and a I think you are putting a lot of unjust requirements on what’s a valid opinion. Informed or qualified are better words to add to it, but just creating an opinion from your first impressions doesn’t make it invalid.
We have tonnes of opinions about things we haven’t seen or experienced, that’s normal. It’s that opinion that usually dictates whether or not you buy something, and the whole point of marketing to make you form a good opinion about something, without experiencing it before.
Let me reverse the situation, I would dare to say that you would probably not buy a game without some sort of positive opinion about it. You haven’t played it yet, so by your logic, it’s invalid.
Again, I agree that resorting to hyperbole is juvenile. And we have a fair share of it. But like I said before, we form opinions fast and I wouldn’t say it’s only the viewers fault if they form a negative opinion when the seller (in this case Atlus) isn’t doing a good enough job to pitch it.
@RadioHedgeFund Why can't you form a valid opinion from something you've not played?
It's totally normal to form an opinion on anything you see, and humans form opinions fast. When meeting a new person you form an opinion within seconds that's hard to change afterwards.
And when you see a trailer for a game that doesn't meet your expectations, it's totally fine to form a negative opinion about it.
That said, going wild with hyperbole going "this is the worst game ever!!" from a pre-production gameplay video is of course juvenile behavior.. But it doesn't make the base opinion invalid, it's just that they are bad at communicating that feeling.
So communicating how we are feeling isn't a bad thing. It's just that we are really bad at how we are communicating.
Putting the actual price aside for a separate discussion, it’s not a completely bonkers concept.
Many prefer digital releases. And then there’s many platforms to cater to today. This does make logistics and potentially open them up to more potential customers with just one SKU.
@DETfaninATL exactly this. All the extra fluff, like the virtual items you got as reward would maybe been good in a reality where PS Home still existed. And levels just seemed kinda useless as well.
Turning the points into store credits was the only thing that was relevant.
@PlatinumMikey Just repackage the trilogy with some upscaled graphics and it would sell quite well on PS5 I'd say. Very annoying that it still, after all these years, is the only mainline single-player entry of FF not on modern PlayStations...
Been playing it for a couple of hours tonight, and it's definitely enjoyable.
It is though clearly an indie game. Controls are janky, voice acting is ok at best and car chases gets quite tedious fast as the perp cars have a durability of a tank,
But like I said, it's fun and got a quite nice mixture of tasks to perform. Given it's quite cheap, I'd say it's worth the buy if you like games like this, and as an old Police Quest-fan who loved the patrol bits, I sure do.
Maybe not something that anyone in this community care that much about but the game is confirmed for a macOS port, but currently without a launch date. Expected before summer of 2025 though.
I liked how Intermission gave time to flesh out the introduction of Yuffie and would have been nice with a similar one for say Vincent, but also, if this means that third part comes sooner, I'm all for that.
I always believed the system would get this functionality but I've been enjoying my Portal well enough without it. But of course, this is a very welcome addition and I do hope they expand it to PS4 titles plus all games you personally own, wether or not they are part of PS Plus Premium, as Xbox just did.
So I'm ok with that it requires PS Plus Premium but DLC and games you own should be part of it. But it does sound like this part of the plan as they mention it specifically as something that's not part of the beta at this time, but something that could come at a later date.
But again, this addition is super nice. Makes it more travel friendly, as when I'm abroad for work, remote connecting to home when at the other side of the world isn't ideal.
The key here in my opinion is that so odd that PSN accounts isn't available in more countries, countries that Steam, Microsoft etc have no problem having accounts so don't buy that it's legally complicated. Just anti-consumer.
Had the game hard crash my PS5 three times yesterday, completely making the system unresponsive to the level that pulling the plug was the only solution. Also made worse by the saves not saving. Not happened so far today after patch, but too early to tell.
I get that it's pricey, but an overlooked detail is that it comes with 2TB as well. And it's not like people will have an awful experience with the regular PS5.
I doubt the PS6 will be as expensive as the PS5 Pro, as the Pro is never going to be their main product.
Very nice news. Absolutely love the Indiana franchise even if I'm not entirely sold on the idea of it as a first person game, I'm still looking forward to playing it, especially so since it's being developed in my hometown.
All this do is make me wanna go back and watch the cinematic trailer for Deus Ex Human Revolution which is still the best mood/theme trailer ever made for a game if you ask me.
As for this, it’s clear to me they’ve put a lot of effort into certain cutscenes but don’t have the bandwidth as an indie to keep that level of quality consistent. And the game play bits just looks ok.
A Portal-like device was on my wish list for years before it even was announced. I played Remote Play on my iPhone regularly but of course the experience with the smaller screen was clearly hampered.
And the Portal delivers on everything I could hope for. Big screen, comfortable to hold and decent battery life.
Sure, it can stutter sometimes, but I've played through the entire FF7 Rebirth, including all of its mini-games, using the Portal this summer over 4G about 150km away from my house.
They are re-working loot, that's great, but how is this really tied to a new season? And will the changes be limited to the seasonal characters? If so, why?
Now more than ever it feels this whole seasonal setup doesn't make a whole lot of sense, and rather just a content filler forcing you start from scratch again and again.
@MaxDiehard It is today sure, but they are doing a big rework of it if you haven't seen, and would be surprised if this new version won't hit the rest of the world.
@somnambulance 100% agree. This hysteria over 60fps is just silly. Feel sorry for the "Princess on the Pea"-people who can't enjoy a game for what it is.
Can't say these free updates would get me to come back, as I do feel quite satisfied and done with the game for now, despite it being my GOTY so far this year. Story DLC with some new areas would be interesting though.
They do make good games, but the way Atlus milks their customers is just awful.
Persona 5 had its original version, then Royal which included some content exclusive to it, with no upgrade path or similar for existing customers. And then finally again, the PS5 version, full price, no save transfer and of course no upgrade path.
And it doesn't look like they are treating their customers any better now.
@itsfoz
1. Yes, AI will help.
2. He literally mentions it the first sentence of the article. But I agree, it plays a big part.
3. Seriously doubt it. As long as they are being more profitable (which many of them are) they won't go away. Live Service games aren't necessarily bad either, just as AAA aren't automatically good.
Finally, it's well known the subscription services aren't growing any longer and putting first-party games in PS Plus on day one would just hurt their revenue even further. You have to remember that Microsoft can afford to lose (or make little) money on Game Pass. Sony don't have that luxury.
@riceNpea "Graphical overhaul is excellent
Novel control scheme still works well
Emotional elements remain impactful
Personalities of brothers shine brilliantly
Co-op provides alternate way to play"
Those are all good reason to play the game. The only big sin of the negatives is the hard crashes, which will hopefully be fixed in a patch. I'd probably wait for it, but the original game was a quite unique and great experience.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution was truly great, and I still rate the cinematic trailer they did for the game as one of the best mood trailers ever for a game. Mankind Divided was in comparison really disappointing, apparently rushed through development.
Personally, I've never played a New Game+ ever. Even if I replay the game, I prefer a completely fresh start. But it feels like a very silly thing to lock into a DLC, especially if it doesn't really include anything additional in the mode.
