@Morzy Hmmm, I wonder how Dubai is about that. I know Iran has a high rate of trans people because as a culture they rather you transition than be gay.
@Constable_What Ah, true. But should we be making a game set in such a backward and bigoted time period? Seems highly triggering as it glorifies a time of great inequality and tries to airbrush it with modern wokeness.
Does this game let me create my own wizard, but then half way through transition into a witch, who then transitions into a cat and cries in a gender neutral toilet?
This is such an impressive launch lineup, but too many unknowns remain.
I don't want to spend more money to play Sackboy or Spiderman when they are available on a console I already own and supposedly will get a free PS5 upgrade.
Sony needed to show all THESE games in the event. They needed to be clear that they were LAUNCH titles, not 'holiday 2020' titles.
After the event they needed to show side by side comparisons of the PS4 and PS5 versions because journalists don't have access.
If Spiderman looks like Superman 64 compared to the PS5 version then I would feel confident in spending 600-700 dollars buying into the new gen.
For now I am left thinking of broken DS4 controllers at launch and see more risk than reward.
@Bamila Same here. Though I have never been an early adopter. I have a PS3 Slim, PSVita, PS4, PSVR and PS4 Pro but all of them I bought a year after they launched.
I bought a 4k TV this past winter to prepare for the PS5, thought it would be my first launch day system but I guess I am waiting like before.
This was typical Sony though, PS4 was their saving grace. PS3 was mishandled as well as PSVita. Still loved those systems though.
If this had been their presentation in early August I would have been way more understanding.
After yesterday I feel like I was invited on the Titanic and the lifeboat racks are half empty and Sony is assuring me they are working on it as we pull from the dock.
My biggest concern was the UI and system operation.
Sony has lied about pre-orders, and cross-gen games.
The PS Store is terrible on PS4. Downloading files is terrible on PS4. Saving clips without being able to record your voice feels outdated on PS4. Shareplay was always messy on PS4.
I want to see Sony's improvements before I commit to buying. They have said a lot, but the recent track record is filled with lies.
@sabaki08 I think they just said games, no release date or price was promised, rather everyone would have crucified them if they had not, their hand was forced.
@PretendWorking Launch is suppose to be the early adopting hardcore audience. Sure, this is a great deal for younglings whose balls are just beginning to drop or excommunicated xbox fans.
For the majority of the people on this site, its a nonstarter.
Spider-Man looked great...but not confirmed for launch, so probably going to be a month late. Maybe ready December 12th.
Demon's Souls looks pretty, but not the visual pop of Spiderman so not a strong sell today...and no release date at all. Probably not ready until February.
So for launch we have...PS4 legacy games free with Plus? Yawn.
I am not pre-ordering based off of what was shared today.
Oh, and God of War 2 coming out next year? *****! We know a vague title flash with nothing else means it will be delayed to 2023.
Xbox is making huge plays setting up a Netflix model.
Netflix is also roughly 13 billion in debt as they race to diversify content. (Link below.)
Sony can't afford this strategy, they are not Microsoft or Google.
However can Microsoft really afford to bring third party publishers to Game Pass? That's a very expensive proposition.
I think this article is suggesting Sony will take a safer, traditional model. One they can afford, but be aggressive with because it squeezes Microsoft.
@Enuo Agreed. I might be crazy, but a large map Mad Max meets Battle Royale with 100 Twisted Metal custom cars battling for the top spot sound so awesome.
The game, like LBP has a thermometer bar that allows you to add as much content to a level as you want. However, once the bar is 100% you cannot add any more assets, animation, or logic.
So doing a open world would have to be limited. You could get around this limitation by having loading screens between levels. Each level/space has its own thermometer.

Re: What Is Among Us, and Is it Coming to PS4?
Release it with the Playstation Keyboard, and Typing of the Dead 0.

Re: The Dream Is Dead: PS5 Will Not Play PS3, PS2, or PS1 Games
In better news, most PS5 games are compatible with PS4!
Weeeeeeee!

@Enuo I just made my own 4k puddle...
Re: All PS5 Launch Games
PushSquare, selling the PS5 better than Sony.

Re: 99% of PS4 Games Can Be Played on PS5, Says PlayStation Boss
Mark Cerney- "About 100 of the most played games will be ready for backward compatibility at launch."
Jim Carrey CEO- "I got all the games, say you love me!"
Re: PS5's Retail Packaging Is Obscenely Attractive
It does look nice.
Makes me wish they had started with a unboxing, plugged it in at Yoshida's house, and began downloading Demon's Souls.

Re: You Can Pre-Order a PS5, But We Still Don't Know What Its Main Menu Looks Like
Sony did a UI Demo at Gamescom in 2013 for the PS4.
Journalists can't give hands on impressions...who knows probably a MS DOS boot-up screen.
How big are the game files? Is the SSD actually fast, its all just myth and legends 8 weeks from launch.

Pre-order exactly what Sony?
No UI shown, we got PS4 legacy games and Demon's Souls for launch...
Nah. I will wait until you sell this properly.
Re: Sony Believes in Generations, But Confirmed a Bunch of PS5 Games for PS4
Ah cool. So I will just wait on PS5.
Man, I am shocked I went from being so hyped for the past 18 months to not caring.
Re: Demon's Souls Remake Is a PS5 Launch Game
Why am I learning this on pushsquare? So mad with Sony's unclear messaging.
Re: God of War Ragnarok Announced for PS5 in 2021
God of War 2...for sure delayed two times, but will be good.
Real Release Early 2023.

Re: PlayStation Maintains Facebook, Instagram Boycott
I hate speech too.
Re: Random: Guerrilla Games Moved into Its New Office, And Raised a Flag in Dramatic Fashion
I hope they aren't making SOCOM, but rather a James Bond game.
Sony owns MGM and the Bond property, would be nice if they revived it with a FPS team, much like how they treated Spider-Man.
Re: Feature: 8 Ways PS5's Adaptive Triggers Could Improve Immersion
I hope the added feel just allows for on screen prompts and HUD to fade in importance.
