Re: All PS5 Launch Games

Holijay

PushSquare, selling the PS5 better than Sony.

This is such an impressive launch lineup, but too many unknowns remain.

I don't want to spend more money to play Sackboy or Spiderman when they are available on a console I already own and supposedly will get a free PS5 upgrade.

Sony needed to show all THESE games in the event. They needed to be clear that they were LAUNCH titles, not 'holiday 2020' titles.

After the event they needed to show side by side comparisons of the PS4 and PS5 versions because journalists don't have access.

If Spiderman looks like Superman 64 compared to the PS5 version then I would feel confident in spending 600-700 dollars buying into the new gen.

For now I am left thinking of broken DS4 controllers at launch and see more risk than reward.

@Bamila Same here. Though I have never been an early adopter. I have a PS3 Slim, PSVita, PS4, PSVR and PS4 Pro but all of them I bought a year after they launched.

I bought a 4k TV this past winter to prepare for the PS5, thought it would be my first launch day system but I guess I am waiting like before.

This was typical Sony though, PS4 was their saving grace. PS3 was mishandled as well as PSVita. Still loved those systems though.

Re: PS5 User Interface Reveal Is Coming, Says PlayStation Boss

Holijay

My biggest concern was the UI and system operation.

Sony has lied about pre-orders, and cross-gen games.

The PS Store is terrible on PS4. Downloading files is terrible on PS4. Saving clips without being able to record your voice feels outdated on PS4. Shareplay was always messy on PS4.

I want to see Sony's improvements before I commit to buying. They have said a lot, but the recent track record is filled with lies.

Re: Talking Point: Did the PS5 Showcase Event Deliver?

Holijay

Spider-Man looked great...but not confirmed for launch, so probably going to be a month late. Maybe ready December 12th.

Demon's Souls looks pretty, but not the visual pop of Spiderman so not a strong sell today...and no release date at all. Probably not ready until February.

So for launch we have...PS4 legacy games free with Plus? Yawn.

I am not pre-ordering based off of what was shared today.

Oh, and God of War 2 coming out next year? *****! We know a vague title flash with nothing else means it will be delayed to 2023.

Re: PS5 Moneyhat Speculation Rumbles On

Xbox is making huge plays setting up a Netflix model.

Netflix is also roughly 13 billion in debt as they race to diversify content. (Link below.)

Sony can't afford this strategy, they are not Microsoft or Google.

However can Microsoft really afford to bring third party publishers to Game Pass? That's a very expensive proposition.

I think this article is suggesting Sony will take a safer, traditional model. One they can afford, but be aggressive with because it squeezes Microsoft.

It's smart.

Re: Dreams Beta Still Coming Later This Year, Says Media Molecule

ellsworth004, created an account to respond.

The game, like LBP has a thermometer bar that allows you to add as much content to a level as you want. However, once the bar is 100% you cannot add any more assets, animation, or logic.

So doing a open world would have to be limited. You could get around this limitation by having loading screens between levels. Each level/space has its own thermometer.

Hope that helps.
