Re: Your Horizon Zero Dawn PS4 Progress Will Transition to PS5 Remaster

Hesse

Is there a new trophy list? And will transferring a save pop the trophies? And is the frozen Wilds DLC included?

If it’s a new list and the trophies don’t auto-pop, I’d spend the $10 to upgrade and re-platinum it, especially since I never got around to the DLC. If not though I won’t bother.

Re: PS5 Pro Reveal Is Already Sony's Most Disliked Console Announcement

Hesse

I don’t get the hate. Yeah $700 is too expensive for a lot of people, including me. And I wanted one. But I’m just not going to get it. I already have a PS5.

If this was the ONLY console available (they decided to discontinue the PS5) then I understand. But it’s a premium product. Just don’t buy it, there is a cheaper option that has been available and still will be.

Re: Random: Rockstar's GTA Trilogy Racks Up Over 30 Million Downloads on Netflix

Hesse

@bindiana you can download them in the APP store (Netflix games all fall under Netflix Inc. publisher, even the GTA games), or in the Netflix APP itself. They work as any other APP on your phone once you download them, just need to use your Netflix Login when you first launch the app.

I recently got a backbone and downloaded the GTA games. Run well and great with a controller. Touch controls are a mess. But I think the smaller maps and shorter mission structure on the PS2 era GTA games fit nicely for mobile gaming.

Re: The Last of Us Multiplayer Project Is Officially Cancelled

Hesse

I’m so torn about this. I LOVED the multiplayer in the last of us, so I was really really looking forward to this game, in fact the only live service game I was excited about.

On the other hand, if it was between that and them continuing to make great single player story driven games, I’m glad they canceled it.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Marvel's Spider-Man 2?

Hesse

8/10. Story was great and I prefer that it was more streamlined and a little less bloated. But, honestly after Spider-Man 1, and miles morales, the gameplay while good (and traversal amazing), started to grow a little stale to me, and bore me a little bit.

Still a great game, just hoping Wolverine has some different gameplay (especially since he’s my favorite superhero) and insomniac takes a break after that and does a different game. A New non licensed IP would be great

Re: HBO's The Last of Us Has Been an Unfathomably Big Hit

Hesse

It was a very good show, but I prefer the game myself. I feel they didn’t focus on Joel and Ellie quite enough, I didn’t quite believe their bond by the end, not like in the game. I mean the last episode itself felt rushed.

Overall a good show and my wife loved it, and actually now wants to watch me play the game so good excuse to replay it haha. I give it a B+

Re: Xbox Boss Admits Microsoft Can't 'Outconsole' PS5

Hesse

@get2sammyb that is true. But I think that also had to do with how poorly the Wii U controller was received, and honestly how the games were hamstrung to use it. Making any 3rd party developers abandon the Wii U completely and even a lot of Nintendo’s 1st party offerings feel off.

He’s correct that I’d never sell my ps5 for a Xbox, but if Xbox had some amazing first party games? Would I buy an Xbox in addition? Probably. And a bet a decent amount of hardcore gamers would too. I own a switch Just for those nintendo games. If Xbox had a similar game catalog I’d consider dipping my toes in. But as it stands there is zero reason for me to have an Xbox, other than gamepass but I have no desire to have a subscription based gaming catalog

Re: Xbox Boss Admits Microsoft Can't 'Outconsole' PS5

Hesse

“Great games aren’t everything” yeah ok. Tell that to Switch owners (myself included). I’m sure they bought a Switch because they like having a vastly inferior machine and the worst online functionality. Not for Mario’s or Zelda or anything 🙄

Re: Jack Black Calls for Red Dead Redemption Movie, Story 'Even Better Than The Last of Us'

Hesse

Fantastic story, though I prefer TLOU personally. But if the show proved anything it’s that RDR2 definitely should NOT be adapted into a movie. A show like TLOU? On HBO? Yes. But even the TLOU show, while very good, lost some of that emotional resonance I felt for Joel and Ellie, because you lost a lot of the interactions with them you got during gameplay. And they adapted a 10-15 hr game to 9 roughly 1 hr episodes

Now imagine adapting a 50+ hr game to a 2-3 hr movie. Hard pass.

Re: Sony Ordered to Pay Refunds As Austrian Court Declares FIFA Gambling

Hesse

My wife plays Fifa, I don’t. But she doesn’t mess with ultimate team. However I play Madden and mostly play ultimate team. And honestly I have never spent money on packs. If you play a decent amount, you get pretty good rewards and currency to by packs and spend in game currency on auctions. I dunno, seems frivolous to me. You choose to spend that money. Oh well

Re: The Final Fantasy 9 Remake Rumours Return Following Kingdom Hearts 4 Confirmation

Hesse

I hope it's true, as FFIX is my 3rd favorite Final Fantasy (behind ffVI and ffVII), but I hope it's not a re-imagining like FFVII remake, even though I did enjoy that.

I hope it keeps it battle system, and isometric view, just completely overhaul the backgrounds and graphics, 60fps 4k resolution. and maybe add some story tweeks here and there. That's all I wanted with the FFVII remake, though I did like what we got (minus plot ghosts)

Re: Rumour Mill Points to 'Really Big' Sony Acquisition, But It's Just Speculation

Hesse

SquareEnix and Konami make the most sense, in terms of the studios and games fitting nicely with the PlayStation brand and ecosystem.

I don’t know if they’d bother buying SquareEnix though, as they already have a close relationship and plenty of exclusive deals with them. Plus SquareEnix has a close relationship with Nintendo too so don’t know if they’d be willing to severe that.

Konami, I would love to see happen. There IPs make tons on sense to the PlayStation brand and other than some collections recently (which is great and better than nothing) they aren’t doing ANYTHING with their IP. Love to see Sony swoop them up just to rescue all those legendary IP from purgatory

Re: Best Sports Games on PS5

Hesse

No Wreckfest? IMO is one of the best racing games, a great blend of realistic racing that's still a little arcadey. And it looks amazing, the damage representation on the cars and track is fantastic. Plus a free PS5 upgrade.

And demolition racing is so much fun.
