The name of the movie and the characters are the only things that reminds me this is supposed to be Uncharted. I forget about the project and everytime a new screenshot or something like this trailer pops up in the news I ask myself if the person who casted Holland has even looked at the games for more than a minute.
@arnoldlayne83 I agree. Was hoping the Switch release would mean a Ps4 port would follow, but it seems ot wont happen. Oddly enough, one of my fave Ps1 games was Civ 2.
There is a very good video in German about Stellaris on Ps4 on youtube. The Youtuber interviewed one of the porting devs and plays the first 20 minutes.
The four major differences to the PC-Version:
Game does not come with the most recent Patch, but will catch up later
biggest map size will not be available
fastest game speed (4 out of 4) will not be avaiilable
all menus are re-designed for gamepad use, obviously
The game seems to run absolutely fine (on a base Ps4), but the real test will be the endgame, when several huge star empire coalitions fight each other with armies of space ships.
To be honest: I`m hopeful, but I have no idea how they will make the endgame work with the Ps4 CPU. All I know is beefy gaming CPUs many times more powerful struggle. Mostly because the game uses only one core, but the single core performance of a 2017/18/19 CPU would still outperform the Ps4....
I guess we have to wait and look at Reddit for those brave enough to pre order.
@Adam47 Yep. Makes me sad to think that the next Pillars or whatever Obsidian is doing will be a Microsoft exclusive... but whats even more worrying is what happened to Rare, Lionhead and Ensemble.
Quite possible they will get to make one of their projects and then get stuck doing some games as service Fable trash until all the good people left and the studio has to close.
I dont get how Konami handles its old IPs at all. They restructured to make more money, but how can they not see, that their history is basically a money making machine.
Imagine a Castlevania Legacy Collection, like the Mega Man ones from Capcom. Imagine they would finally officially rerelease Bloodlines... escpecially on Switch, the first Nintendo console in over a decade that has no Virtual Console sevice. Little effort (a solid emulator with some visual options and the roms) big sales....
What would be most important to me is not the format, but to skip the usual hype rituals. Here is a teaser for a game coming out Q3 2019, and here is another trailer and another... and later we realize those early teasers had nothing to do with how the game actually looks and plays...
I really liked the way Nintendo handled the Switch release of Into The Breach. They kept quiet and said: Oh, and its out this evening.
This constant reminding is getting comical. Every two to three months someone from Bioware says they haven't forgotten Mass Effect and Dragon Age. Its like: Hey, we now work on an action game, because EA wanted a Destiny clone, when Destiny was popular, but please remember that we once were this world class RPG studio, which we will be again. Please keep that in mind when you judge Anthem. Pleeeaaassseee!
EDIT: The cynical, but realistic, outlook for Bioware: If Anthem is a big success they will be forced to crank out DLC and sequels (forever), if Anthem fails EA will just shutdown the studio and slap the Bioware/Mass Effect/Dragon Age logo on their mobile games, just like they do with Command & Conquer or Ultima.
Wow! Bought the Nonary bundle on Vita, because I prefer those type of games on the handheld and planned to buy the third game next month. After four months of games I already own I finally get something out of Plus beside online play...
I would really like to have an Animal Crossing game in my life again, but looking at the Steam reviews it seems like the game is still full of mobile-timers, which would be totally unacceptable for a game on a home console.
I'll buy the Mega Drive collection in the hope that Sega will release some of the missing games later. A collection like this without Sonic 3 and Knuckles? Without Ecco? At least we get all three Streets of Rage games - that alone would be worth the money for me.
Oh thank god. This is one of the games I have and will buy over and over again, so I can keep playing it on whatever console I own at the time.
It's a piece of art. Learning to play the game is like learning to play an instrument. Once your brain adjusts to the polarity mechanic and all its implications, it's a one of a kind experience.
My therapist is proud how fast I recovered from the nervous breakdown the last scenes of episode 3 had caused, but he told me to avoid the bonus episode until I would be 100% mentally stable again.
The Eurogamer staff rated Mass Effect Andromeda, Rime and For Honor higher than Nioh, Persona 5 and Horizon Zero Dawn in their 50 Games of 2017 list. And they yet have to reveal Destiny 2 and SW Battlefront 2, which will probably end up in the top ten.
Yes. They did that and now I have to giggle whenever I see the Eurogamer logo, although I actually agree with giving Rime a high spot on the list. It's obviously not on the same level as Uedas games, but it was a great experience nonetheless.
I'm pretty sure it will be a great game when it launches 2020 as the last big AAA game of the Ps4. Will make it easier to tolerate the wait for the first killer apps of the Ps5, which probably will be out by then.
Daxter on PSP was a great spin-off. Wish they would rework it for Ps4 like LocoRoco. The Lost Frontier on the other hand was abysmal and it seems this is the dominant memory of J&D during the PSP era, despite the success and popularity of Daxter at the time.
I think the X is the last Xbox before the brand will become something like a gaming service on Windows 10 and other devices, so yeah, I think it is plausible to expect Halo on Ps4 in the next years.
Microsoft had one central plan with the Xbox - to replicate the dominance of PC Windows in the living room pc/set-top box market. That plan culminated in the DRM-AlwaysOn-Nightmare of the One. When that bubble burst thanks to the outcry of the gaming community, MS only half-arsed some first party support to keep the brand alive.
The X is a beautiful and powerful machine, but I suspect it's only reason to exist is to end this generation with at least some positive news and to keep the XBox brand somewhat relevant when they change it to a service or something like this.
The original Medievil was my first Playstation game. I replayed it a few years ago and the gameplay hasn't aged very well, but the atmosphere and character of this game is still special. It really felt like a playable Tim Burton movie - from a time when Burtons movies had atmosphere und character.
I would buy a remake in a heartbeat. Glad to see there is a campaign to resurrect the franchise.
@adf86 I enjoyed that. Millions enjoyed that. Releasing a GT game without a career mode is like releasing Fifa without a career mode. Sure, the online component is nowadays more important than ever, but a sizeable part of the community still expects to get the core experience they associate with the franchise.
I don't get how so many mock this as "sour fans feeling entitled to get something they shouldn't want". Like the Street Fighter fans who felt entitled to get an Arcade mode in V, or the Command & Conquer players who just wanted base building in Tiberium Twilight.
No dev should be a slave to fan expectations, but there is healthy middle ground between implementing radical different ideas and staying true to the identity of a franchise.
Pathetic. First the stupidity of trying to blame Epic for copying something Bluehole did not invent, then the damage control after the backlash and now all of a sudden they talk about the Ps4 version, which they avoided since announcing that Microsoft would publish the console version.
Was really looking forward to finally play the game, but right now I think free Fortnite is enough for my occasional battle royale fix.
I have some Beta-Feedback for PD: Give us a classic career mode. I want to start with my used Nissan family car and work my way up to all the pretty racing cars they show in the trailers.
There is one category Sony is behind Xbox: racing games. They should have made a game with a complete single player mode to rival the new Forza. Instead Yamauchi is so obsessed with the idea of developing real racing skills, he focuses on the online-competitive side of the game which leads to being able to acquire a real racing license.
We'll probably have to wait for Gran Turismo 7 which will arrive 2023 on Ps5.
Can I hold the buttons for doing the super spin shots or do I really need to press up/down the same moment I press the buttons for the second and third click?
@kyleforrester87 Crash Collection put me in a mood for more platformers, so I canceled my Cities Skylines pre-order and bought Yooka Laylee... and that was a big mistake. I love the Banjo games, but this feels so uninspired, bland and empty.
Glad you enjoy it, but playing this I can only think about getting back to Crash. Hopefully Activision will follow up with more Crash and Spyro.
I'll buy Crash Bandicoot, Tekken 7 and Wipeout. Feels so weird to think 17 or 18 years ago, I bought Crash Bandicoot, Tekken 3 and Wipeout 2097. I'm old.
I hope this means we get Persona 3 FES and Digital Devil Saga soon. Now that Persona 5 is one of the GOTY candidates and a huge sales success, it should be a no brainer to release the older SMT games for those who never played them or want to play them again.
@atadakimasu No doubt, Steam EA is a total mess, but thats why I wrote it will not be like Steam, because PSN is handled differently. Sony would be way more selective than Valve.
Take Oxygen Not Included as an example. Klei proved again and again the games they release as early access are stable, playable and get finished (and even expanded months and years after release). Games like this (or Factorio or Battlegrounds) could and should be allowed to release labeled as Early Access.
YES - absolutely yes. There is no objective definition of a "finished" game.
Minecraft is considered finished, but Mojang continues to release content just like they did pre 1.0. Factorio or Battlegrounds are called unfinished, yet they have more content and run more stable than some games that are officially released as finished...
Calling a game finished is arbitrary, especially in the the days of DLC and content patches.
The biggest reason we should embrace PSN Early Access: Sony would be way more selective than Steam. On Steam everybody can sell a barely working alpha build with dreams and promises. Sony on the other hand could only allow games like Battlegrounds, Factorio or Oxygen Not Included = games of trustworthy devs that already play like a finished product, even though the devs - for whatever reason - call them "unfinished".
I wonder what happened to Benoît Sokal. The first two Syberia games were well received, but literally everything he worked on after finishing S2 was either trash or mediocre at best.

Re: Talking Point: What Did You Think of Sony's State of Play Livestream?
@Areus I think the opposite is true. It really lacked the presence of Indie announcements. Thats what makes Nintendo Direct so special.
Re: Talking Point: What Did You Think of Sony's State of Play Livestream?
Very disappointing. Did we really need a special format to show us more Days Gone and MK trailers?
I expected it to be a lot more like a Nintendo Direct. Total waste of time, especially if you dont own VR.
Re: Feature: Sony's State of Play Livestream - What PS4 Announcements to Expect
I think they will talk about Medievil. Was very quiet regarding this one in the last few months.
