Re: Naughty Dog Embraced Crunch Culture After The Last of Us, as It's 'What It Takes to Make Games at Our Level'

Gunbeld

@Stocksy Yeah work culture so terrible that developers line up to get a job there and the gaps between games are so long that by the time a sequel is announced sometimes the hype just isn't there anymore.

Karens have become so entitled that they bitch about 100k plus jobs that made them work some paid overtime then the even more pathetic Karens online get worked up on their behalf simply because it's easy to trigger a Karen.

Ofc you'll never see it that way though, a Karen never does.

Re: 'Who on Earth Would Want This?': Almost 90% of PS5 Fans Not Interested in New 'Playerbase' Program

Gunbeld

@nessisonett Doubt it, doesn't seem worth the hassle. There's only 1 winner per game and you get to design your livery etc for this game but the scanning part is only 1 day of the trip. Say they pick 10 winners for 10 games then they have to fly some of these winners out to the US with return flights as well. I'm sure they could find 10 people in the US easy enough and just give them like 5k each for a days work and job done and the A.I. would need way more training than that anyway. The juice just doesn't seem worth the squeeze.

EDIT: Nevermind -

It just occurred to me you were probably talking about the casting call videos lol.

Re: Can Keith David Sell You Starfield on PS5? Bethesda Thinks So

@GirlVersusGame You're right, I'd actually forgotten he was in that and I didn't realise English wasn't your first language either but I understand what you mean.

He's played a lot of supporting roles over the years as well so although his face is memorable he sometimes doesn't get a lot of screen time so that's probably why people can't remember his name, he definitely has some screen presence though when he gets the right roles.

Re: Opinion: Sony's 'Playerbase' Is a Weak and Weird Way to Celebrate PS5 Fans

Gunbeld

@KoopaTheGamer Yeah it does sound a bit extreme but they ain't going to leave room for you to sue them so they try to cover every angle.

Not sure what they could do with my likeness that would piss me off though. Honestly if suddenly I started popping up in everything and everywhere I'd probably just think it was funny more than anything.

Yeah I'd probably end up get pissed off in end but at least for a while I'd think it was funny because it just seems a bit crazy to think about. Well at least I'd get say look ma I'm famous so it wouldn't be a total loss lol.

Re: It's Official: Sony Spins Off Iconic Television Business

Gunbeld

Despite all the theories like it mentions in the article they've already said what they were doing, this is because they are shifting more towards an entertainment company. More focus on anime, games, movies and music and with more consolidation and cooperation between divisions so TV's etc are being partially spun off.

Re: PS5's Dynamic Pricing Debacle Appears to Extend to the US Now

Gunbeld

Those screenshots show the price when signed out and signed in but what's the point? Signed out prices are irrelevant since you can't even buy a game unless you're logged in. Only logged in price comparisons actually matter also PS Plus prices have always been lower for people who own PS Plus.

How do you know that the price isn't just changing when you log in because you get a bigger discount applied if you own PS Plus?

Looks like generative AI slop because it is and Nvidia said so themselves despite Digital Foundry trying to claim it wasn't generative AI.

Re: 'This Should Be Illegal': PS5's Dynamic Pricing Roundly Criticised by Disgusted Sony Fans

Gunbeld

Dynamic pricing and targeted pricing are two completely different things and it turns out PS Prices research is also unreliable because they've already had to update their article.

"We clarified the section on IPT_LTM. Previously we interpreted the $29.99 price for GTA V as a “test increase”. In fact the retail price of GTA V (PS5) is $39.99, and both experimental prices ($26.99 and $29.99) are discounts of different depths, not increases. The IPT_LTM table has been updated to include retail prices for context

Re: 'This Should Be Illegal': PS5's Dynamic Pricing Roundly Criticised by Disgusted Sony Fans

£3.74 sounds about right for what I paid for it a while ago off the playstation store. Hadn't played an assassin's creed game in years I wonder if that's why I was offered that price, anyway I have no problem with regional pricing but dynamic pricing does sound scummy but I'd like to know exactly how it works? If they just offer people discounts on the types of games they wouldn't usually buy or play that wouldn't really bother me, I don't buy games until I think the price is right for that game and the price I'm willing to pay is dependent on how much I want a play a game, ofc unless it's just too cheap to care.

Re: The End of an Era: Sony Spins Off Iconic Television Business

I think this is a smart move, TCL was going to take over the TV market eventually anyway, well them or Hisense. The same way BYD got the EV market or Huawei was going to become #1 in smartphones until the ban.

If they pair Sony's best in class image processing with some of TCL's best panels then this could lead to some really good TVs still and hopefully more affordable since they should be a bit cheaper to produce this way.
