Re: Review in Progress: Battlefield 6 (PS5) - You Won't Be Buying This One for the Campaign

GrimWillows

The most frustrating aspect of the campaign is that you cannot play it if the servers are full!?!?
I'm around halfway through and it is dull as dishwater. Laughable characters. Really bad from a military training aspect, everyone is so dumb. It's like a fox network drama. Every other Battlefield Campaign is leaps and bounds over this, and actually fun too!
The saddest part is that I'll probably do it a few times over for the Platinum 🤣🙃

Re: Finally, a Line of Physical PS5 Games Where the Packaging Is Beautiful and the Full Experience Is Actually on the Disc

GrimWillows

I fully embraced a digital library many years ago but I do miss the joy of opening a new physical release. Pre-order editions used to be packed with goodies. I have the Skyrim canvas map lovingly framed on my office wall. Looks exquisite.
But, just last week I ordered the physical edition of Miasma Chronicles (PS5) for £12.99 new. It was still £30 on PSN. I was pleasantly surprised to find a little concept art book and a (still valid) cosmetic dlc code, inside the case. I even got a 'thank you for purchasing the physical edition' message, when starting the game.
Something I'd forgotten I missed.

Re: 10 PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for May 2025 Announced

GrimWillows

I only upgraded to premium because of a Black Friday deal. To be fair, Premium has actually saved me a lot of money. Many big games have trials that don't even need to be downloaded, you can stream them. This has put me off games I've nearly purchased on sale, like space Marine 2 and Alan Wake 2. It also helped me decide to get Hogwarts while it was under £20. The PSVR2 included games are great and have saved me loads also. Additions are slim but the catalogue on there (including PS3 steaming) and free movie access have been great for my wants.

Re: Sony Banned Jonah Hill from Playing PlayStation in Superbad

GrimWillows

@AdamNovice @bingbongboyo The Getaway games are likely never to be released again as they contain so many car licences and branded shop fronts like McDonalds, KFC, Next, HMV, Currys, WHSmith, Virgin to name a few. The disc version was changed to remove the British Telecom logo upon its 2nd printing. One mission had you kill a driver and steal his van.
They can still be played, via Emulation, in much higher quality than they ran back in the day, with a PS4/PS5 controller on PC. Probably on many of the PC handhelds on the Market also.

Re: Talking Point: Is PSVR2 Worth Buying In 2025?

GrimWillows

Cost me £340 new over Christmas. Also jumped in because prescription insert lenses were also on offer and there was a huge psn store sale. I like it and bought a load of games but I wouldn't recommend for friends with mainstream gaming tastes. The only friend who would, already has it. It's not a mainstream device and I'd say is for those who lile to play lots of different and indie games. It requires building up a tolerance for many games. Something I had built up with Quest2.
It's also a system that needs a demo with someone who knows the system.

Re: Open World Cult Classic Sleeping Dogs Could Be Heading to the Big Screen

GrimWillows

I remember Sleeping Dogs not appearing in a PS5 store search. It does appear in browser, on pc. You can add it to your library (usually for about £5) and start the download on PS5. All the dlc is included. I got the platinum on PS5 a couple of years ago. Plays incredibly well. Shocking it isn't searchable on console?!?! Would happily re-do a native port.

Re: Shuhei Yoshida on PSVR2: 'I'm Sorry'

GrimWillows

Thoroughly enjoying PSVR2 the past few weeks. Been playing the online shooter Pavlov all afternoon with a bit of Walkabout mini-golf. Refreshing playing games from a whole different perspective.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 563

GrimWillows

@Kraven I got stuck being insufficiently equipped for the final area. Frustratingly draining on anti-rad and tough armoured enemies. I think I'm enjoying the third entry (Call of Pripyat) more but prefer the colder look of the first. Shadow has that PS2 era warm bloom effect. The PSN store was glitched on its shadow drop and gave all 3 tites for the price of 1!!

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Silent Hill 2?

GrimWillows

I'll probably get blasted for this but I remember preferring 1 and 3 and Downpour over 2. Played them all as they released on each console. Gone back to 1 a few times but had no intention of ever re-doing 2. I wasn't that interested in the remake but heard it has had a lot of changes, been expanded upon, order of story beats changed etc. so I purchased it last night. I had planned to wait and see for a performance patch but I'm happy to support a launch with hopes of, at least, the original being remade.

Re: Poll: Are You Sold on PS5 Pro?

GrimWillows

@Member_the_game At the start of a generation consoles are sold at a loss to boost the install base. They make money from software sales and subs. This is a premium product so cannot be compared to start of gen pricing.

Re: PSA: Astro Bot PS5 Copies Leak, Gameplay Spoilers Are Everywhere

GrimWillows

@djlard Astro's Playroom didn't use a camera. You are thinking of the free PS4 launch title The Playroom. Astro's Playroom is a platformer with levels comprised of hardware throughout the history of Playstation. There are around 20 levels and it is pre-installed on all PS5 consoles. It is probably the best platformer on the system. That is why everyone is excited for Astrobot. 80 levels across 6 galaxies.
