Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown Sales Reach New Heights as Game Celebrates Sixth Anniversary 1

Bandai Namco has announced a new sales milestone for the brilliant Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown.

Now six years old, the campy combat flight sim has sold over six million copies across all platforms.

The publisher also notes that this means the series as a whole has now surpassed 20 million units.

"Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is celebrating its 6th anniversary and has sold over 6 million units worldwide," reads a statement from series producer Kazutoki Kono. "Our desire to connect with as many people as possible has become a reality! We would like to thank all the people who bought the game and were involved for their great support."

AC7 initially arrived on PS4 at the start of 2019, and it was a return to form for the series with a great campaign, fun multiplayer, and limited but excellent PSVR support.

It quickly became the best-selling entry in the series, now accounting for about a third of the franchise total.

Another Ace Combat game was loosely announced back in 2021, with Kono confirming work had jointly begun between Project Aces and ILCA. Hopefully we'll learn more about that game soon.
