Last year saw the release of Pacific Drive, a unique survival game all about upgrading and maintaining a scrappy station wagon.
While it's received many meaningful updates in the time since, developer Ironwood Studios has announced the very first premium DLC expansion for the game: Whispers in the Woods.
As you can see from the announcement trailer, Whispers in the Woods is leaning further into the spooky side of Pacific Drive.
According to the press release, a mysterious group of anomaly-obsessed fanatics has invaded the Olympic Exclusion Zone, and they're causing all kinds of strange new effects.

As well as introducing new lore, the DLC adds new junction types to explore, Artifacts that change up the gameplay in various ways, new anomalies, new car parts, and more.
Players will be able to engage with Whispers in the Woods at any point after the game's opening hours.
There's no word on a price or release date yet, but we do know it's due out before the end of the year.
Although the game has some finicky menus and controls, we really enjoyed our time with Pacific Drive, so we're pleased it's getting DLC to flesh it out even more.

Nice!
the base game's half off right now too for one more. Day. I might just finally bite on this so I get caught up. Definitely want to give this a go. 8-12 expansion is definitely a meaty offering!
Awesome! Loved that game, one of the rare ones ive replayed even though i got the platinum
@KundaliniRising333 I have been temped to get this for a while but I have always thought it's a likely PS+ addition. It could be included to coincide with the DLC. Always a risk.
@GrimWillows right after I posted this I thought about that and the fact that it is an exclusive as well. this is totally going to come to PS Plus at some point but I highly doubt they would do it with the Dlc.maybe though
Pacific drive is a great game and very unique ,I'm nowhere near finishing it but really very enjoyable and now even more content ,fantastic news ,its such a creepy game as it is,bring on the extra creepiness lol
This was an enjoyable Platinum, also loved the music.
I was really hyped for the game and pull the trigger for £11 offer, but it's just too janky from time to time and mystery element goes away too quickly. Dropped out after 7-8hrs with no intention to be back, maybe part 2 will be much better. Solid, but not for me.
HELL YES!!!!1!!11
This was the best game of 2024 folks. Play it if you haven't
@KundaliniRising333 The game is not an exclusive, not sure if its on Xbox. But I just finished a session playing it on PC.
@lets_do-this_1999 only 2 hours in myself, but it defo has a creepy and isolating exploration vibe which is done well and give a great experience. So also looking forward to more content and the tone shift lol.
