So I'm a bit through the Blood & Wine expansion of Witcher 3 and I just needed a break, I've played nothing else for pretty much the last month.
My roommate has spent all his time since 4am Friday on FF XXIV, I've thought about starting it on PS4 while he's on PC but it feels overwhelming trying to start it out.
I've just started Assassin's Creed Odyssey because I really like the Ancient Greece setting & the mythology. First AC game I've played since 3 & Black Flag....I've got Origins & Valhalla too but haven't played either, Odyssey really got me interested after I looked through the season pass content & saw the Atlantis & Underworld stuff. I'm about 4 hours in and it's a ton like The Witcher & very pretty. Alexios is goofy and so far, it's fun.
Besides that, I might try to play a little bit more of Guardians of the Galaxy, I got stuck at the mission where you gotta fight a whole ton of Nova Corps & kinda gave up for awhile. I also might drop in for some more Persona 5 Royale.
If anyone wants to be friends on PSN, my friends list is sorely pretty pathetic. My username is GalacticBreakdwn
@kingbreww lol yeah no, I'm with you on all that. I really do wish I could find one. I'm def a lil bit jealous of those who have one but it sounded like maybe your expectations were high of new games like this. But fair enough, everything you just said I agree with. Everytime I get a load screen on my PS4 Pro, I want one just a bit more.
Been finishing up The Witcher 3 Blood & Wine DLC, I'm at Chapter 4 in GotG, and finally started Arkham Knight which is really cool but there's too much Batmobile stuff. I like it but it's total overkill when I just want to do Batman stuff but I've gotta pull something with the car, do this race, shoot this drone, etc. I'll still play it but the Batmobile consumes way too much of the play time.
On Switch I'm a few hours in on Shin Megami Tensai V.
@thefourfoldroot yeah I got my subscription for half off for the year a few months back. So I paid $30USD, which so I'm paying $2.50 a month.... which is less than a gallon of gas.
@AV_aka_577_ex-Xbox sigh. So I guess they should just ignore PSVR and their users? Sorry that we are happy with the offering & you disagree with their choice to acknowledge those users. I guess some people just can't be happy and want to use statistics to justify their negativity. That's okay, hopefully you are happier with future offerings. Probably not though.
@AV_aka_577_ex-Xbox it's the PSVR anniversary month, do people not understand that? I got my PSVR for peanuts on Facebook marketplace and I love it despite some of the flaws. It's five years old and they are celebrating that. I'm sure there will be other similar promotions for other anniversaries. Calm down, most months are going to be very mild. The expectations and entitlement of some of you guys is just ridiculous. Like you deserve AAA games for peanuts when all you do is complain about their business decisions & their choice of promotions. If you want AAA games that is competing with Game Pass, get PS Now. Plus isn't the equivalent of GP, it's the equivalent of Games with Gold, which also gives away games of varying quality that are usually budget releases. Plus has given out several AAA titles this year like FF7 Remake, Days Gone, and whatever else. Control isn't AAA but was another top quality game they gave out this year. Persistence is first party and can be played without VR, so maybe you'll like that? Besides that, I'd recommend picking up a PS Now sub if you want AAA games for your money, it's a great deal & has a ton of quality games.
I really, REALLY have considered picking up Guardians this weekend. I really shouldn't, I can't really afford it with the trip I'm taking to Indianapolis next weekend to see GWAR, Napalm Death, & eyehategod in concert. But I really want to play it lol.
I've been trying to get into the Halloween mood with games this weekend but almost all my gaming time has been devoted to The Witcher 3, all my gaming time period has been with it. It is SOOOOOOO good and quite fits the Halloween theme. So much to do, so much gear to get, and the story is wonderful & engaging. I played a bunch of this on Switch but I picked this up on the PS Store, the complete version for like 8 bucks. Best deal I've ever gotten in gaming lol. I've just finished the quest in the garden with Yen and I'm sure I'll stay up until Sunday morning playing.
I really would like to play some Resident Evil 2 Remake & maybe finish Leon's campaign, play some more RE7 in VR, maybe play some more Bloodstained, or finally make some progress in SOTN but I'll need a guide for SOTN, I always give up whenever I get stuck or die, then have to start over from scratch. Besides those, I may finally play Arkham Knight... Only Arkham Game I've never played after beating both Asylum & City back on PS3. I have both the remasters on PS4 & have played through about half of Asylum again but idk if I have the patience to play through them both again before playing Knight, so I may jump into it.
I really don't understand some of the gaming community. I must not be diehard enough or something.
I love PlayStation, I love gaming, I have so many amazing games to play & I don't even own a PS5. It's simply been too difficult to get ahold of one & I don't have the time to put the effort in to get one when they pop up in stock for an hour.
PlayStation Plus the last few months hasn't been great but I've gotten a few things here & there, I've played a ton of stuff from PS Now that I wouldn't be able to play otherwise, and I'm excited for the future when I enevitably get a PS5. Until then I can still play most of the new games on my PS4 Pro, which allows me to still get really excited about the new stuff coming out.
I wish I could play most of my collection with a higher frame rate at 60FPS, enhanced visuals, faster loading times, and other improvements....I wish I could play Rift Apart, Returnal, Demon's Souls, Deathloop, Death Stranding DC, and others that have gotten native PS5 upgrades. I really do wish I could get a PS5, I would really LOVE to get one, and I know I will eventually. It would make me unbelievably happy to get one soon even if there's not a ton of next gen exclusives, there will be eventually.... Spider-Man 2 & Wolverine have me so excited, as do Horizon & GoW, I cannot wait to dive back into two of my favorite worlds in gaming.
I'm very excited about the future even if I'm just playing on my underpowered PS4 Pro for awhile. I really appreciate it & am grateful my life allows me to have such a luxury, to spend hours gaming on it. So all this negativity & pessimistic attitudes in this comment section really feels weird to me because I do love PlayStation & I will continue to. No matter what decisions they make I don't agree with or what they offer on PSPlus...
I love the fact that I have the privilege to own one & have the time to spend playing it at this point in my life. There was a time I didn't, so now that I do.... I'm very grateful that I do.
If how I feel or my positive attitude makes me a fanboy or shill to other gamers on this site, that's okay I guess. I'm sorry that bothers you & that I don't really have the desire to put my energy & time into negativity & reactionary criticism. Sorry for the essay. ✌️
I've been interested in Kingdoms for awhile, I almost bought it for Switch. Todd McFarlane's contributions really interested me.
I have PSVR so I'm super jazzed to get Walking Dead and Persistence, have heard really great things about Saints & Sinners. When the devs of Persistence became first party, that caught my attention too. Never heard of Until You Fall but I'll definitely add it to the library.
The other two games don't interest me but that's okay. The others are enough. Good month!
I finished the story campaign in Spider-Man: Miles Morales and just started the Avengers campaign offline. I don't understand the hate for this game, the opening was REALLY good where you play as the whole team on the Golden Gate Bridge. I love all the different mechanics with each member, the story is different & interesting, and Kamala Khan is such a good character. I love this campaign so far, can't wait to play the Hawkeye & Wakanda expansion campaigns. No interest in the online multiplayer aspects or cosmetics.
Besides those, I want to get through more Persona 5 Royale, I'm on the 2nd Dungeon in May. I'd like to get through & possibly finish Yakuza Kiwami so I can play Kiwami 2 or 0. Then I'd like to start GoT DC or Arkham Knight. Or Witcher 3 Complete. Or one of the 3 AC games I've got Origins, Odyssey, or Valhalla..... so many games.
I'd be super into this if it wasn't so expensive. Clone or not, most of these characters were a huge part of my childhood as a 90's kid and I'm obviously the market for this game. They clearly were very tight on funds, for instance only two of the TMNT members are on the roster. All they really had to do was recolor their headbands, maybe throw in a few special moves, a few different animations, and that's the other two. I know that's oversimplifying it but it can't be super difficult considering the way characters can be reskinned. Other than the price, I'd love to spend some time with this, I'll definitely pick it up on sale.
Whoever said Metroid Dread being 60 bucks is a disgrace...then comparing it to Cuphead because they're both 2D... just smh. Ohhhkay....
I hope everyone enjoys it, I'm sure it's a well made game & will please those who are excited for it.
But I can't just really be any less interested in this. I thought about it maybe being a co-op game to play with my friends but.... I'd maybe get something like Blood Dragon for that, that seems like a ton of fun. I kinda see it like this, I don't get near as much time as I'd like to play games. I've got a ton of games I still want to play and I'd rather spend the time I do get on things I'm 100% all-in on. I hope everyone else loves it though!
I'm jumping between all kinds of stuff at the moment. Yesterday I finished the story of Trover Saves The Universe in PSVR, loved it, hilarious game. One of my favorite VR games.
I'm trying to get through Kamoshida's Castle in Persona 5 Royale. I'm still learning all different things you can do & I didn't realize I could leave the Dungeon and let a day pass. I really love this game and it's style, it really makes even the most mundane things into entertaining gameplay elements. It has the most charming cast so far of any game I've ever played. I'm only 12 hours in and I already really care for the core cast. Can't wait for it to open up more. I'm trying to get through it a bit more because I bought Persona 5 Strikers in the current PS Store sale.
Besides that, I'm jumping into Castlevania SOTN for the first time in Requiem, chipping away at Horizon Zero Dawn before the sequel comes out, Mass Effect Legendary Edition, and will probably start Last of Us Part Two after finishing the remaster of the first game.
I loved IV when it came out. It's what made me take notice of it, having the whole "They Live" tribute and having the ridiculous opening with "Don't Wanna Close My Eyes" by Aerosmith playing. Before that, I just saw it as a GTA clone....I loved flying around the city, it was a game where I legit felt like Superman flying around the city. Though you did get overpowered at combat.
I got Mass Effect Legendary Edition and I'm playing through the first game for the first time. Back on PS3, I only played 2 & 3, the first game wasn't released until after I finished them. I'm glad I waited, so I can now play them back to back.
Besides that, I'm playing through Resident Evil 2 remake, I'm trying to get caught up on them.
I just recently bought a PS4 Pro with PSVR after getting frustrated trying to find a PS5 for a decent price. I've not owned a Sony console since PS3 so I've got a lot of catching up to do.
