@EfYI I don't know the answers to all your questions but yeah Peanut is huge right now, he was January's top streamer with 11 million hours watched, 2nd was Asmongold with 8.4 million. I've got normie friends at my job who know Peanut from Tik Tok
Man Bloodborne by Bluepoint, god woulda been incredible. It's a shame my favorite dev blocked it. I think FromSoftware just wants to forget about Bloodborne
@ATaco idk the biggest gaming streamer in the world Burnt Peanut played it for 8 hours, along with Nickmercs, Shroud, Summit1G, a lot of streamers played it most of yesterday
Exclusivity sucks. It doesn't serve any consumer, it only serves the brand. I'm not a fanboy of one console or the other, I just want people to be able to play as many games as possible on whatever system their using
I've watched several streamers play it now including Burnt Peanut who played it last week for a couple hours. It looks...fine? I like the art style and I play Arc Raiders pretty often but the extended gameplay just doesn't look that fun to me especially if you're playing solo. It looks like they took a Destiny 2 extraction mode & made it into a 40 dollar game with it's own MTs & art style.
I enjoyed what I played of the first game, felt like a game that you rarely see get made these days at that scale. It was a nice change of pace next to everything else I usually play. I'll play this on Game Pass or something eventually, definitely not a day one, full price pickup
really? It's still by far the most anticipated game in years, it will sell more PS5s than any other game, and it's going to likely be the biggest game launch in history.
@SeaDaVie There's no way you're trying to say Destiny 2 hasn't fallen off....every one hated the last expansion and everything they've done since. Anyways...here's your Steam numbers. Not good lol Stop pretending this game is doing good, it's just gonna go lower and lower.
As of December 20, 2025, Destiny 2 has approximately 27,813 players active at any given moment, with a 24-hour peak of 34,673 players.
The game's player count has shown fluctuations throughout 2025, with the last 30 days averaging 17,027 daily players, a 31.42% increase from the previous month.
The peak monthly player count for November 2025 was 23,590, while the highest peak recorded in 2025 was 73,032 players in the last 30 days.
I guess I don't get it. I've gotta do mandatory overtime too on occasion but my employer doesn't get criticized for CRUNCH. Sometimes you gotta do overtime, boo hoo
Sucker Punch is great despite the fact I fell off Ghost of Yotei like 30% through the game, game felt very slow & repetitive. I didn't hate the game it just felt so slow moving. Combat was cool but so much time between fights
@get2sammyb well yeah but they asked $40 for Concord too which would be another game that had negative buzz like this. People love Arc Raiders, Arc Raiders had hype. Marathon has negative buzz, lukewarm at best reception to beta, Bungie's reputation couldn't be worse right now. Marathon would probably still fail as f2p but asking $40 for it is crazy with how the game's press has been. Setting it up for failure. Now if this game ends up being the best & most popular extraction shooter on 2026 or something, I'll eat my words. But that is not seeming likely.
If you make an amazing game that people enjoy, most people aren't gonna care if you used AI for a few things. If you make a bad game using AI that people don't enjoy, it'll be controversial.
@Treestar Yeah I didn't see whatever picture you posted but yeah Destiny 2 is not in the top charts unless you go down to like 50. If whales are still paying money to Bungie they are insane. I'm a former Destiny 2 player saying this but there's a reason the player count has been cut in half each year since 2022. So any value Destiny 2 still has with it's 20k player base who all dislike the game, idk how much longer they'll have it. If it's in the top 10 at the end of the year on Steam, i think that's cap. They were averaging 75-60k a year ago inbetween expansions & now they're down to 1/3 of that player base
@MrPeanutbutterz you call video game writing "bad" when it's not, it has a style, just like comic books have a style. Different mediums tell stories different ways & in different styles & that's what makes them interesting as a vehicle. But yeah video game writing is no worse than say TV, film, animation, comics, etc. There's sh*t writing & hacks in every medium
@XboxistheBestBox also if you wanna score games, going by "scores" Arkham Knight has an 87 on metacritic with 8.1 user score on PS4. So compare that to Suicide Squad & like I said, I think most would disagree with your implication that it's comparable to SS.
@XboxistheBestBox what do you mean the weakest villain? All the games have multiple villains Including Knight, but I'd say Knight is no weaker than say Hugo Strange.
And I really don't care about your score, it's kinda silly. You say "weakest" like the things you're saying are truly weak, they're only weak because they were preceded by two of the greatest games ever created. Next to other games, it's a fricking masterpiece especially for 2014, it 100% holds up to modern standards.
Also the batmobile puzzles are like, 1% of the game. You didn't like a few puzzles but I disagree with your sentiments. I don't think you played Arkham Origins either because it seems you don't count that one. That game is good too.
But if you're saying Arkham Knight is on the same level as Suicide Squad, I think most people, not just myself would disagree.
@Ridley I mean if you wanna just ignore what I said & ignore the genuine sentiment rather than just complain about people scoring games without playing them, which is kinda asinine. If you criticize them, you just encourage them. But it's hard to ask people to withhold judgment because they're not willing to pay $70 to play game they already have preconceived notions about. I'd advise you to just ignore troll scores but if you'd prefer to focus on troll comments rather than genuine critics of the game, that's your prerogative.
Also people complaining about people hating on this game, can you really blame them? I am a comic book collector & was so hyped for this but it's just not the kinda game I want from a comic book game. It seems like it has a decent story but it's not story driven really. The missions are just like "go here, shoot this, repeat" or that's the impression I get. Like I love a lot about this game inherently just because I love those characters & their stories in various other mediums but this is a multiplayer horde shooter with light story elements. I'm not hating on those types of games, they can be fun, but it's hard for me & most people it seems to look at this game, this developer, these characters, hell even the awesome story concept & not say "man this could've been incredible." It doesn't mean it's necessarily a bad game it just means a lot of people feel like it could've been a much better game if WB hadn't pushed it so far in one direction. They fumbled it like they've fumbled most of these properties in their recent film continuity. (Outside of The Batman & Joker & James Gunn's stuff.) DC & WB has suffered a lot in recent years in almost all mediums from chasing trends & looking at what other companies have success with & saying "hey do what they did." Hopefully it's blown up in their faces enough now to reverse course like they have with their film productions.
@XboxistheBestBox bro what? Arkham Knight is a great game! If you're trying to act like this game is on the same level as Arkham Knight, I'd say you're misguided. Arkham Knight may be a point or two below the first two but those games were 10/10 all timers. I also think as time has passed, people appreciate Knight much more in hindsight rather when it came out for whatever reason. But I replayed it on PC about a year ago & loved it, things like the Man Bat jump scare are moments that a lot of modern open world games can't even pull off.
Nice! Great month! Finally a list of games where I don't already own any of them! Idk if I'll be able to make room for the massive 2K file size, I'd really like to play it. I'd like to try them all tbh
This game looks so good. I loved The Messenger despite rage quitting on it a few times. This has eclipsed Hollow Knight 2 as my most anticipated indie of 2023.
This month is a W for me just because of Axiom Verge 2. I loved the first game on my Switch but haven't played the 2nd since it released. I'd rather have it on Switch but I'll gladly take it for free. I already own Fallen Order which is really great & I won't mind Fallout 76, maybe I'll actually try it out someday. Kinda lame it's only PS4 though, if they upgraded it for PS5 I'd be more inclined to give it a shot. It reminds me I'm looking forward to the Fallout 4 Next-Gen update that's supposedly coming soon. Fallen Order is the best Star Wars game since KOTOR & on the same level imo. The combat is unbelievably fun & the exploration is a fun time. Anybody who hasn't played it & is interested in Star Wars or likes Souls games will enjoy it. Good month. But I'm a person who doesn't fault Plus for giving away games I already own, I try to be sensible about it.
It's a wonderful, well-made game.....it's a legitimate masterpiece. But it's an old game. Nothing about the actual gameplay or it's narrative are "new." I wouldn't mind this listed in "Best Graphics of the Year" but in the GOTY? Nah. It's the reason it wasn't nominated for any thing at the Game Awards & why it shouldn't be listed here.
@Tomato_Goose CDPR took it over from the original port studio, Saber Interactive who did the Switch port. I think because of the war because Saber is Russian, I believe, maybe I'm wrong though. CDPR took it over this year, I believe.
Holy moly, what a freaking update! This has risen way up in my most anticipated list. The new camera option, the hot key like Sign controls, 60fps, and the best thing.....cross-save/progression on all platforms? So I can take my PS5 save over to my Switch, then to my PC? That is lit!!
