@GreatAuk exactly my issue. Crash 4 was really good at keeping the focus on the platforming so I’m hoping a Toys For Bob helmed orignal Spyro would do the same.
Binged the Reignited Trilogy over Christmas and by the Year of the Dragon, I was begging it to end. This is coming from someone who loved Spyro way back when, but the over abundance of gimmicks and extras in that game was fatiguing. That being said, Toys For Bob are a phenomenal team.
Not a huge Last of Us fan but chuffed to see the show executed to a high standard. We’re in a golden age of adaptations. Castlevania, Cuphead, Arcane, Sonic, Mario and now the Last of Us.
I know Bloober is a pretty spotty when it comes to weaving sensitive subject matter in their horror titles but actively rooting for them to ***** up the remake is plain old cynical to me.
@The_Pixel_King you’re going to hit a wall with early boss Margit the Fell Omen but don’t be discouraged. That’s your cue to diverge from the story path, make your own adventures and level up as you please. Elden Ring is one of the rare open world game that doesn’t bombard you with objectives but allows the land to pique your curiosity. Don’t be afraid to summon other players co-op as well, that’s half the fun.
Took me 3 runs of Demons Souls to get the plat just now. Don’t mind it at all when the trophies nudge you towards experimenting and trying new things each go around.
@Smiffy01 I’d love for you to elaborate on how asking to be considerate of other people is comparable to the Third Reich. Or are you just another one of those types who throws words like fascism around without first consulting the dictionary?
It makes a lot of sense to bring back Crisis Core if the VII remakes are aiming to unite a lot of the extended universe plot lines under one umbrella. Weird to see it go multiplat while the main VII games are still PS/PC only.
@Dezzy70 in fairness, we’re not factoring the amount of young children who play Pokémon for whom reviews and quality assurance don’t really come into it
@Korgon I’m surprised they never did give it another go. Platform fighters that slap various IP together are bigger than ever now. Nintendo managing to get Final Fantasy, Persona, Metal Gear, Tekken and Kingdom Hearts into their game just speaks to the size of the ball Sony dropped.
Not interested in supporting Harry Potter due to the reasons alluded to in the disclaimer but it does looks like the devs are pulling out all the stops for the fans. I’m sure 8 year old me would lose his mind if he saw this.
I’m really enjoying Horizon Forbidden West but Aloy outright telling me how to progress in certain parts has irritated me to a degree I didn’t expect. Now, I don’t mind it so much when there’s a few characters as it’s only realistic they’d try to puzzle it out together, but stuff like “I bet this specific item would work on this specific thing” is just annoying. There should be a feature to turn it off or at least a button prompt to hear the hint if you so wish.
Saddos investing way too much of their personal self worth in a product they had absolutely no hand in creating. Disgusting carry on. Hope the reviewer isn’t too shook up and continues in their field.
I’m not not going to skip the game because of the diversity issue, but that interview response was so bad. Really weird coming from a Square employee considering the company is releasing Forspoken soon, a fantasy game with a black lead.
@4kgk2 I prefer Phil to Jim honestly, or perhaps Don Mattrick really was just that toxic to the Xbox brand. The games on PlayStation have always been what attracts me but Phil’s put in the work to make Xbox enticing. Meanwhile, Jim seems to be a walking PR disaster.
@Tharsman my assumption was that once upon a time gaming was drawn along tribal lines and Japanese consumers/devs were naturally inclined to support native businesses like Nintendo and Sony over Microsoft, leading to this image problem Xbox has with traditionally Japanese content.
It only makes sense that the Japanese market alone can’t sustain these ballooning development costs. The sad part is that more niche series are likely to fall by the wayside while companies go in on safe bet IPs that are sure to perform globally.
Haven’t played 2 but 1 was an excellent experience. It wears the Soul inspiration very abundantly but I found the speed of combat made it exhilarating and empowering to play. Fighting Yokai as an Irish Geralt in feudal Japan is something that needs to be seen to be believed.
That’s good to hear. The Resi games (3 remake notwithstanding) tend to strike a good balance for me with length. Not too short that I feel ripped off but short enough that I immediately want to start a new save and try new things.
I’ve come to regard Uncharted as one of PlayStation’s least interesting properties now. The original trilogy works in the context of design trends of the era they were released in but I found 4 hard to replay because I found little compelling about it other than it being a showcase for the PS4’s graphical grunt.

Re: Dead Space (PS5) - Faithful Remake Brings Back a Classic
Long live single player. Long love survival horror.
Re: Poll: Did You Buy Forspoken?
Betting it all on Dead Space
Re: Random: Forspoken Might Have a Fight Against Autocorrect on Its Hands
Reminds me of MediEvil and plain old medieval.
Re: French Trade Union Calls on Ubisoft Paris Workers to Strike Following CEO's Comments
Guillemot would want to be careful. The French did invent the Guillotine after all.
Re: Sony Highlights the Riches of 2023 in Upcoming PS5, PS4 Games Trailer
Had to do out a list of games to buy over the next two years just to budget for them lol.
Re: 'AAAA' Title The Callisto Protocol Reportedly Falls Short of Expected Sales Figures
Those are absolutely insane expectations for a new IP. What were they thinking?
Re: Skull and Bones Delayed Yet Again as Ubisoft Cancels Three Games
Gladly stopped buying Ubisoft games around the time of the abuse reports. Doesn’t hurt that their output has been boilerplated into oblivion.

Re: Game of the Year: #8 - Tunic
@UltimateOtaku91 there’s a great amount of exploration to do if the combat isn’t your thing
Re: Game of the Year: #8 - Tunic
Picked it up on my Switch. It’s a lovely wee fusion of Zelda and Dark Souls. A bit too short for the price though.
Re: Game of the Year: Stephen's Top 5 PS5, PS4 Games of 2022
Cult of the Lamb consumed me for the twenty odd hours it took to platinum. Phenomenal game.
Re: Fans Are At War with Street Fighter 6's PS5, PS4 Box Art
That initial artwork of Luke and Jamie they used for the State of Play was actually perfect. Very reminiscent of vanilla SFIV’s box art.

Re: Sonic Frontiers, Genshin Impact Fans at War Over Players' Voice Award
Previously it was the Sonic and Pokémon fans at war over which game was the ugliest

Re: Poll: Did You Buy The Callisto Protocol?
The air has been let out of my hype balloon. Skill Up’s review really just laid the game bare for me.
Re: The Callisto Protocol (PS5) - Just Like Dead Space, for Better and Worse
Black Friday has cleaned me out for games but I’ll definitely be checking this out, probably next Halloween sale.
Re: Rumour: Monster Hunter Rise on PS5 to Be Revealed and Released Soon
Fantastic game but a bit weird to be using a Switch game to debut Monster Hunter on the PS5/Series.
Re: Sony: Xbox Wants Us to Be Like Nintendo, a Less Effective Competitor
At least it’s not Sega.
Re: The Callisto Protocol PS5, PS4 Trophies Will Make You Fight for That Platinum
This game has shot up the list of my must plays seemingly from nowhere.

Beautiful tribute.
Re: PS Store Black Friday Sale Live, Here Are the Best PS5, PS4 Deals
@NateGoesLive all my friends have been raving about it so now is the time. Agh, haven’t even thought about GOW. One day…
Re: PS Store Black Friday Sale Live, Here Are the Best PS5, PS4 Deals
Demon Souls, Integrade and Cult of the Lamb for me.
Re: Sony Played a Role in Bringing The Callisto Protocol to Life
Keeping my eye on this one

Re: God of War, Sony Exclusives Dominate The Game Awards Nominees
A decent mix of titles for sure. I can’t see anything but Elden Ring getting the crown but I’m glad to Xenoblade and Stray get the nod.

Re: Sonic Frontiers (PS5) - Bold New Gamble for the Series Pays Off
Actually so chuffed for the blue boy and the fact so many are rooting for him.
Re: God of War Ragnarok Equals Ridiculously High Review Rating of Its Predecessor
A 2 point difference on Metacritic is hardly any metric to go by, especially when Elden Ring and Ragnorak have different priorities as games.

Re: Final Fantasy 16 Release Date Reveal Planned for This Year
Between this and VII Rebirth, it’s a good time to be a Final Fantasy Fan. Square really needs a win after their string of bad decisions.

Isn’t he a Joe Wicks type figure in Japan? So it’s a parody of one of his workouts for children?
Re: Sackboy: A Big Adventure Has Proven Very Unpopular on PC
Funnily enough, I feel like a classic LittleBigPlanet would be massive on PC. The community and creation aspects seem tailor made for the platform.

Re: Resident Evil 4 Remake Roughly 'the Same Length' as the Original
