Re: Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Out for PS5 on 19th September

DiggleDog

This is looking like 2002 RE Remake of the Dead Rising series. Capitalising on every ambition the original fell short of due to hardware limitations or clunky design decisions. The original was designed to be a showcase of then next gen machinery so I think a remake is interesting and appropriate.

Re: Round Up: Concord PS5 Previews Seem Torn on Sony's New Shooter

Of Sony’s live service shooters, who would have guessed that the one that’s a brazen rip off of Starship Troopers would be better received than the one that’s a brazen rip off of Guardians of the Galaxy.

Joking of course. Game looks solid. It’s not my vibe personally but I have a feeling that Bungie veterans might know what they’re doing when it comes to online shooters.

Re: Silent Hill 2's PS5 Remake Emerges from the Fog on 8th October

I think the remake looks good. I’ll be waiting for reviews but when people say it’s bad, I have to wonder if we’re looking at the same game. At worst it will be fine. The discourse surrounding this game is absolutely rancid and at times it feels like people are rooting for it to fail, which is disappointing. I get that Konami and Bloober have both blotted their copy books in the past but the comments on the YouTube stream were insufferable.

Re: Final Fantasy 16, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Fail to Meet Expectations on PS5

Both FFs on PS5 are some of the most fun I’ve had with the console. Rebirth seemed like an extraordinarily expensive game to make but I’m surprised Square haven’t seen much return on investment for XVI. Great game but it didn’t strike me as having a monstrous budget.

At any rate, I don’t know what the solution is. Sony did their part and pushed both games pretty hard. If nothing else, it seems Rebirth had a pretty smooth development and many of the assets are now ready to go for the 3rd game.

Re: Helldivers 2 PSN Requirement Backtracked on PC After Brutal Review Bombing Campaign

DiggleDog

Seems pretty disingenuous to me to brand this solely as PC players having a meltdown over having to make another account. Annoying as gamer entitlement can be, it’s been pretty obvious for a while that this is not what this is about. Sony never should have sold the game in countries where PSN is unsupported. No sympathy for them and I wouldn’t be surprised if this damages their relationship with the PC market for a long time. Make no mistake, Helldivers 2 would not be nearly as successful without the PC playerbase.

Re: Bloodborne Kart Rebrands as Nightmare Kart, Out for Free on PC This May

DiggleDog

A far better outcome than nuking the project outright. I’m glad Sony were able to recognise the hard work of the dev and reach an agreement. Still, this is one of the most brilliant and hilarious bits of fan promotion I’ve ever seen so I don’t know why Sony would have a bee in their bonnet about it, especially as it’s free.
