Gameplay-wise this looks really freakin' good. And graphics-wise, it looks really good...for a Vita game. Compared to Killzone 3, though, it doesn't look quite as good in the graphics department. That doesn't really matter much, just felt I should make that distiction.
This is about what I expected from the demo, minus the story cut short part. That's a tad disappointing. But I'll still pick up the game at some point. I'd get it right away, but priorities and such.
@kivi95 Oh yeah, I forgot. They have more liberty when it comes to commercial gain or something like that. Pheewph. I'd hate to have the Gov't cracking down on those guys.
"China implemented its console ban way back in 2000 in order to protect the nation’s youth from the various scientifically proven side-effects of video games. The move merely created a black market for imported and pirated products."
And I just hope that the Chinese gamers actually buy enough for it be worth it for Sony, instead of sticking to their knock-offs and pirated games.
EDIT: Wait, Play-Asia is based in Hong Kong! Does that make them an illegal enterprise?!
@Gemuarto Eh, you're probably right. I thought they looked exactly the same at first, but I'm noticing differences the more I look at them. In Jin-Roh, for instance, they wear distinctive plated armor, and seem to have bullet chains coming out of their suits. (Though it's nearly impossible to find a good shot of a Helghast trooper)
Guys, you're missing the bigger news here. Fighting Vipers is coming to PSN. With two other games attatched to it, yes, but alone it would still be worth the $10.
I'm glad you guys weren't too hard on it, at least. I've seen some people completely slam the game. I don't think I'd like it much, but then again, I'm not a fan of games that try to do as many different things as this does.
I played the demo and so far I agree with this assessment. Most parody games suck, but this seriously managed to pull it all off wonderfully so far. It's not quite perfect, but and I'll admit that I haven't laughed out loud to any of the jokes yet, but it's damn fun to play, and to be honest, it takes a lot to get me to LOL irl.
Yeah, this game still has plenty of thrills after all these years. I'll be skipping the PSN release, but I love the GCN version to death, glitches and all.
"Furthermore, fans of the fighter will be delighted to learn that Capcom is releasing a brand new batch of costumes for the brawler from 30th October. A balance update is also expected in mid-December, which promises a wealth of gameplay and presentation tweaks."
I think fans will be happier to hear about the Balance update way more than the costumes.
No, Dante, you do not have my attention. That trailer was awful. I'll try the demo before I make my decision, but the gameplay looks too slow and gritty for a DMC game. DMC has always been fast and stylish. But I guess that's what happens when you give a francise to a company that doesn't understand how to make a good action game, let alone knows the first thing about DMC.
I'm not surprised to hear the praise, though it's not exactly something I'd want to play. I dislike games that try to have multiple ways of playing. It pretty much always makes the game feel unfocused to me.
It's two games that come with a fully-packaged online mode and Challenge/Tutorials, as well as unlockables. I think it'll be more than worth the price of admission.
These guys do lots of quality ports, so I'll be sad to see them go. They also did Mechassault: Phantom Wars. I really enjoyed that game. Rough around the edges, but still had plenty fun to it.
I actually really liked this game. It was incredibly stiff and unbalanced, but my bro and I had a lot of fun playing it together. Then again, we did enjoy Clayfighters together, too.
This is one of my all-time favorite fighting games, I look forward to playing some people here. I'm not that good (I love fighters, but my short attention span keeps me from getting good at them), but since I'm assuming most of you aren't familiar with the series, that just means we'll be able to learn the game together. My PSN ID is ddydydy. Just make sure to tell me you're from Push Square if you do send me an invite.
For those who have the patence, though, a friend of mine linked me thesewebsites, which have extensive tips on the game.
Who is Spike? And Ratchet & Clank!! And Dante?! Seriously?! F*** it's the new Dante! I'm really getting excited for this game now. I don't want this game anymore.
1) They've said there will be new systems/mechanics, so it's more than just new characters. 2) This is a story-centric franchise. They already explained a while back that it was intended to be a trilogy, so this one will likely finish up the story set up in the previous 2 games (yes, there were two revisions to the second game, but technically there are only two games that progressed the story).

Nice. People should definitely pick it up.

Re: PlayStation Store Refresh Launches in North America
Let me know when it hits Japan. Their store is the most in need of an upgrade.
Re: Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Tops 840,000 Sales
Good to hear they did well without me.
Re: Review: Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles (PlayStation Portable)
Last level asside, this game was actually too easy for a Castlevania game, IMO. That last level, though! Talk about frustration.
Re: Store Update: 30th October 2012 (North America)
Holy Fing crap! Nobunaga's Ambition! Totally picking that up soon!

Grrrr...for PS+ only...not even a $10 discount for non-plus users? Man...
Re: Review: Killzone HD (PlayStation Network)
^Funny thing is, they practically ripped the design from a Japanese Manga series.

Re: Review: Killzone HD (PlayStation Network)
It looks like fun. So long as they fixed the framerate, I'll probably enjoy it.
Re: Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault Reveals All from 27th November
Man, this makes number 5 on the PS3, I think. And I just started playing Tools of Destruction. It'll be a long time before I get to this one...
Re: Tales of Hearts R Being Recited on PlayStation Vita
They'll probably skip to this one depending on sales. ToIR didn't do so well. And from what I hear, it sucks almost as bad as the DS version.
Re: Review: Dead or Alive 5 (PlayStation 3)
I know fans of the series will eat this up, but this is how I've felt about every DOA after 2.

That is a nice price, despite the implications.

@XD375 In the trash where it belongs.
But seriously, why bother with the original? There was nothing that it had the other games didn't do better.

This is the best desicion a developer has made in a long time. I might move this up to a day-1 buy if I can after hearing this.

Y'all be spoiled sports.
This game looks amazing graphically. I can't wait to play it. Which reminds me, I forgot to play FFXI again. Better make sure I do that tomorrow.

It's a disappointing score for fans of the game, though. Luckily, I wasn't a fan of the first game, so no tears will be shed over here.
Re: PS Vita Hack Apparently Allows The Use of Homebrew Code
There goes the Vita's online community. Though if they can get "certain Programs" working on the Vita, I might consider trying it out.
Re: Ratchet: Deadlocked Breaking Out in PSN Re-Release
Out of all the Ratchet & Clank games, this is the only one I'd rebuy, if only to finally have online co-op.
Re: Review: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure HD Ver. (PlayStation Network)
Guess I'll wait for a sale.
Re: Store Update: 28th August 2012 (North America)
Might grab Peacewalker when it goes on sale...
Re: Sony Pictures Registers Slew of Console War Movie Domains
HdN is one of the worst RPGs I've played.
Anyways, even if it does turn out to be a big screen flick, I won't need it. They're already turning the bit wars into an anime. That's enough for me.
Re: Capcom: Fans Are Warming to Dante's New Look in DmC

Re: Review: Retro/Grade (PlayStation Network)
Metallica reference?
Re: Store Update: 21st August 2012 (North America)
^Not really, considering the content.
I'll definitely get Legasista and Jojo once I have some more money to burn.

Glad to see KOFXIII available on PSN. More fighting fans should be playing that game.
Re: Yes, There's Going to Be Another BlazBlue Game
@Master-Nas Incorrect statement for two reasons:
1) They've said there will be new systems/mechanics, so it's more than just new characters.
2) This is a story-centric franchise. They already explained a while back that it was intended to be a trilogy, so this one will likely finish up the story set up in the previous 2 games (yes, there were two revisions to the second game, but technically there are only two games that progressed the story).
