Criminy, another Action game. Oh well, at least this one's pretty. At the very least, I'd get this over Soul Sacrifice. I didn't like that one's visuals.
I'm still impressed by their boldness of actually focusing on the gameplay during the PS4 Press conference, and hearing that it was such a risk makes me even more impressed.
I too look forward to your review. I wanna see how it improved on the original, since that one sounded like an otherwise great game that simply had some problems holding it back.
Anyways, I'm playing BioShock on the PS3 with my bro. We're about a third of the way through already. Spooky stuff, surprisingly.
^The first game was atrociously written and had painfully overcomplicated gameplay, as well as a moe aesthetic that people might find to be too cute and colorful. Overall it's about as niche as humanly possible, which I think some people might find to be a problem with a lot of Japanese games these days.
Anyways, this sounds better than the first game, but certainly not good enough to compete with Ni no Kuni and Tales of Xillia, which deserve more of my time and money.
It depends on the game and the hardware. I don't want a Vite/3DS game on the Vita, especially if it's gonna look and play like a 3DS game. A PS3/360 game, however, I'm fine being multiplatform, since they're highly likely to play the same, so I can just get the version I want based on other factors.
Same price as the Standard, same stuff as the Collector's edition, minus the Figurine. Too bad it seems to be PAL-exclusive so far, I'd get it otherwise.
I've never been one to agree with you, Sammy...and that hasn't changed here. That said, I've noticed a lot of critics saying the same things you do, especially the lack of "moving the series forward", and I don't think I can see why it's a problem. The fans wanted more Sly cooper, which is what they delivered. I don't recall anyone asking for an evolution or revolution of the series. It didn't have to advance the formula, because it's been so long since we've seen a game like it that it's already fresh again. They never promised anything more, no one asked for anything more. So why were you expecting it?
Seriously, the PSN stuff being backwards compatible should be an absolute must! This simply unacceptable! Now I'm definitely not getting a PS4, until they fix this issue, at least.
Actually, I was just expecting a fun side story with over the top setpieces. I'll still get this game, though not right away - I'm too low on cash right now.
Sounds interesting. I'll remain cautious, but it does sound like something that'd be big if they can pull it off.
As for Halo, I like the series well enough. I never thought it was great, but I don't see how anyone can call it terrible, especially by the Multiplayer of Halo 3. I've played some terrible shooters in my day. Halo was not one of them.
While I disagree that the first was mediocre (quite the contrary, it's one of the best in the genre, IMO), it does seem like this is a step back, which is disappointing.
I think they finally put out a demo for it, right? I may try that out first before I make my final decision, but it doesn't sound like something I'd enjoy.
@charlesnarles The first two were some of the clumsiest, clunkiest, most counter-intuitive RPGs I've played. If this manages to rid itself of even one of those problems, I'd be very surprised.
Yes, a PSP game is #3 on the charts. This is...weird, to say the least. Looks like a slow period for everyone right now, though. Even the monster that is Animal Crossing is barely leading the charts. (relatively speaking. It's still doing really freakin' well)
I noticed that too. I hope it's true, RF4 aside, Summer's looking pretty empty. June 25th would be perfect for me to get it. And yes, I will get it despite having the Wii version. Ignition did a terrible job with the translation. Aksys' translation will likely be better.

Re: Insomniac Games Could Have Made Resistance 4 for the PS4
Good decision. Outside of the PSP game, Resistance was never very good.
Re: Review: Persona 4 Arena (PlayStation 3)
@neumaus 'Cuz Atlus doesn't have a European Branch, and the European Publishers are usually pretty small.
Re: Review: Metro: Last Light (PlayStation 3)
Sounds as good as the last one, if not a little better. Good to hear. I should grab both when I can, only rented the original.
Re: Review: Persona 4 Arena (PlayStation 3)
Good review. Better late than never, glad everyone can play this gem now.
Re: This Trailer for Japan Studio's Latest Game Sure Caught Our Attention
Looks pretty. Want to see some gameplay, though.
Re: Review: Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen (PlayStation 3)
All the original flaws, huh...that's disappointing. Think I'll wait for it to go down in price again.
Re: Talking Point: How Does Exclusivity Affect Your Anticipation for a Game?
@darkhairwarrior ...You're comparing Apples to Oranges, and that doesn't even begin to tell how bad of a comparison that is...
Re: Review: Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon (PlayStation Network)
@charlesnarles Speaking of which, is that an Elder Scrolls character in your avatar?
Re: Review: Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon (PlayStation Network)
I can't believe this is actually good. I think I'll pick it up sooner than later.
Re: Guerrilla Squashed Key Killzone: Shadow Fall Bugs on the Eve of the PS4 Reveal

Re: Darksiders, Red Faction, and Other THQ Assets Purchased by Nordic Games
@ThreadShadow Yeah, Nordic's a publisher. They'd probably talk with Crytek if it seems that they'd do a good job (which I'd imagine they would).
Re: Store Update: 23rd April 2013 (North America)
I'm tempted by Black Rock Shooter...
Re: Sony Santa Monica Pitched the PlayStation 4's Share Button
I hate you Sony Santa Monica. I know I'm gonna accidently hit that button when I'm getting my butt kicked in 2D fighters...
Re: Talking Point: How Does Exclusivity Affect Your Anticipation for a Game?
@darkhairwarrior And when was the last time that made a difference? 2009?
Re: Sly Cooper Collection Staging a Crime Spree on PlayStation Vita
Would be nice if there was crossbuy with this one...I still need to get that collection...
Re: Jak & Daxter Trilogy Continues the Hunt for Power Cells on PS Vita
I have the PSN version on the PS3. Doesn't sound worth it to upgrade, though.

Re: PlayStation Network Maintenance Delays Regular Store Update
Damn, I just wanna see what's on sale this week...
Re: You May Not Have to Wait Much Longer for Final Fantasy Versus XIII Details
This is very good news. Hopefully that day is sooner than later.
Re: SEGA Casting Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse onto the PSN This Summer
@get2sammyb I agree it looks good...to the point where it's distracting. :/
Re: Talking Point: What's Your Favourite PlayStation Startup Sequence?
@Zombie_Barioth PSP's was certainly my second choice.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue Three
Playing Tales of Graces f and One Piece: Pirate Warriors, with some Persona 4: Arena on the side.
Re: Tales of Xillia Sets a Date with the West, Collector's Edition Announced
@JavierYHL Then get the Day One Edition: http://www.vg247.com/2013/04/11/tales-of-xillia-collectors-editions-are-lovely/
Same price as the Standard, same stuff as the Collector's edition, minus the Figurine. Too bad it seems to be PAL-exclusive so far, I'd get it otherwise.
BTW, the Collector's Edition is NOT NB's-Store-exclusive in NA: http://www.gamestop.com/ps3/games/tales-of-xillia-collectors-edition/109114
Not sure about PAL, though.
Re: Talking Point: What's Your Favourite PlayStation Startup Sequence?
The PSOne Start-up still gives me chills.
Re: Shuhei Yoshida Doesn't Want All PS4 Games to be First-Person Shooters
I certainly hope they can go through with that by the time I get a PS4 around 2019.
Re: Store Update: 9th April 2013 (North America)
Again, the heads of Gungho are criminally insane. Unless those licenses were dirt cheap, I doubt they'll be profitable.
Re: Muramasa Rebirth Brightens Up the Vita on 25th June
Looks like I got two games to pick up that day. Neat.
Re: Review: Darkstalkers Resurrection (PlayStation Network)
Yup, loving this game.

Re: Japanese Sales Charts: Vita Steady, Muramasa Starts Strong
Numbers could be better still, but we'll have to see how it does in the long run.
I'm glad One Piece Warriors 2 is doing so well.
And I'm surprised the PSP is still being so dominant on the charts...
Re: Your PlayStation Network Games Won't Work on PlayStation 4
.............................................

WHY YOU NO BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE PS4?!
Seriously, the PSN stuff being backwards compatible should be an absolute must! This simply unacceptable! Now I'm definitely not getting a PS4, until they fix this issue, at least.
Re: New Final Fantasy Title to Be Revealed at E3 2013
It better not be FFXIII-5...yeah, they're skipping 4. That'll be DLC.

Re: Rumour: Is This a Photo of the PlayStation 4's Controller?
Looks...like a modded PS3 comtroller to me. :/
Re: Review: Fuel Overdose (PlayStation Network)
I like the art, but that's not enough to sell it to me. I had a feeling this wouldn't be so hot.
Re: Review: Dokuro (PlayStation Network - Vita)
I was hoping you guys would review this. Thanks, I think now I'll finally give it a go.

Re: Valhalla Knights 3 Strides into North America This Fall
The series doesn't have a very good track record, but I'll be keeping an eye on it regardless.

Hope it doesn't disappoint.
Re: Talking Point: Killzone: Mercenary Concludes a Killer Week for PS Vita
@Gemuarto Yeah, and I sent them the tip this morning, guess it got lost in the mail?
Re: Muramasa Rebirth Slicing North American PlayStation Vitas
This game will definitely need the relocalization.

Re: Rumour: Could Mutant Mudds Be Switching Planes on PS Vita?
I hope not. It was mediocre at best on the 3DS...
